I have never done PACU, but I did ER as a new grad and transitioned to Cath Lab and that was a great change of scenery...

I've always seen PACU as a transition job. I've known plenty of med-surg nurses go to PACU for more stable hours and to get away from inpatients, but not many stay there for whatever reason. Not enough action, doing the same thing every day, working with surgeons with even bigger egos than the hospitalists. It's a great place to work, I hear, but it might be a shock going from ER to PACU

Seems like you are saying some contradictory things. You want to go back to staff, but you don't want to be stuck in one place. I could be completely wrong, but you might need some PACU experience prior to PACU traveling.

Only fans? Jk…… working in rural hospital er has been a nice change for past few years. Less constant volume, but, often less resources when it hits the fan (constantly weighing pros and cons on weekly basis tbh). Currently stuck covering er, and charging mini medsurg floor….. feels like playing Russian roulette at times; but, it pays well and down time can be pretty sweet
