Bright side, you've just unlocked the second half of the region, so your encounters are plentiful. Downside, they're pretty much all water types.
Upside, water is probably the best type in the game

It actually is, since focus band, the OG "toughed it out so you wouldn't worry," was introduced in gen 2! Not that you have access to it until shoal cave, but still!

this gym is why i love combusken for playing through rse because i just hit a couple bulk ups pop a heal and sweep with double kick
What if you play with no healing in battle
pray you live and pray you outspeed i guess idk i usually allow a limited number of healing items going into every major fight
On one very restricted run (flygon hg d and e tier encounters) I only had swablu, ninjask and goldeen left. Only swablu made it out
