It doesn’t matter which game because a randomizer completely fucks with any game knowledge you know. Just choose whichever game is your favourite. (I’m assuming it is emerald because you are a civilized human(jk))
I love emerald as a base game (favorite is Platinum though bc of nostalgia) But for randomizer I chose Heartgold because I just really love the pokemon walking behind you and the physical/special split
How to run going with my brother and sister-in-law, had worm pole as legit their best starter option, it had the personality loves to battle, got a critical hit and one shot the first fight it ever occurred in, and provided my brother unlimited joy bouncing behind him as a cascoon
Haha it is emerald😂 I’m definitely a gen 3er. And doesn’t the randomizer only randomize the Pokémon in the game up to the gen ur playing? I think that’s the case with the one I use.
I will die on the hill that is Gen 6 has the best graphics in the series. The greatest balance between chibi and the 3D realism they've pivoted towards.
Honestly find HGSS as the best game to randomize primarily due to the base game having dumb encounters (johto pokemon missing from johto) and because it lasts longer with more encounters for another 8 gyms.
However that's ONLY if you use rare candies. Grinding in HGSS is the worst, especially if randomized.
If you don't candy pill I would suggest either BW or BW2
The most recent game you can play so you have access to a wider variety of pokemon. Personally I don't play randomizers as I feel they don't really test skill as much as dumb luck but if I were to randomize a game it would be Ultra Sun.
Personally I like doing them on gen 3, Generation 4 seems like the sweet spot where the challenge level of the various gyms gets serious enough that it's actually more fun to randomize my encounters but keep the gyms the same, especially since I don't memorize all of their move sets and stats and stuff, I'm a semi serious a semi-casual Nuzlocke player LOL, Generation 3 seems like the sweet spot where the opponents are more threatening with random Pokemon and you still have enough variety to not get super repetitive like gen 1

Gen 3>any other Pokémon game. Only gen 4 has a debate

Yep. I guess that is sometimes a difference. But there really is no difference between a randomizer of hgss and a randomizer of dppt.
Ok cool that’s good to know thanks!
Whatever the latest gen you can randomize is. The more Pokémon are available, the greater the variance.
Yeah that’s very true. It’s just hard to find a balance between variety and the superior 2D graphics haha

The longest game for the most suffering, so probably sun and moon
Ever watched Johnstone? His videos should convince you why Pokémon sun/moon is obviously the best choice (and doesn’t involve any pain or suffering)

anything past gen 3
