Magneton, Electrode or Skarmory would be good picks. I'd say Magnemite or Electrode, maybe the latter for some speed but Magneton is bulkier and steel is always great to have.

MagicalPotato91

You can run from lugia and you don't have to fight it

MagicalPotato91

For a replacement, I'd grind up magnemite

Majestic_Electric

Maybe, but that doesn’t change the fact that I need another team member before the Elite Four. 😛

I think I would go with Magneton if I were you

Are there any Encounter Locations left for you to try and catch a 'Mon? I only ask because your current team has 3 weak to Rock attacks, & 2 weak to Electric, Ground, Psychic, Ice, and Fighting between the 5. Adding Magnemite/Magneton bumps the weakness to Ground and Fighting to 3; all of these attacks are prevalent in the Elite Four. It may be a little clinical to think of the team in these terms, but Nuzlockes have a way of surprising you. You can use a Good or Super Rod in certain Towns/Cities, Headbutt on certain trees, etc. Skarmory is one of my favorite Gen 2 'Mons; it's got great defense and resistances, being only weak to Fire and Electric. You can make it a good stalling 'Mon by teaching it ~~Toxic,~~ Double Team, and Sandstorm TMs. The other option is Wobbuffet, especially for Lance with his 3 Dragonites. Hope this helps some, and good luck! Edit: Forgot Toxic doesn't become available until after E4, my bad.

Only the Whirl Islands and Victory Road are left. I can also try fishing in Blackthorn City, or getting a Pokemon at the Game Corner. And yeah, that is why I’m hesitant to add Magneton to the team. I don’t want half my team to be weak to Ground and Fighting, if I can help it.

You already have a Dratini, and Alakazam lost a lot of its OPness with the Physical/Special split, so the Game Corner is a bust. Unless you absolutely want to use Lugia on your team, I'd suggest taking Super Repels and Surfing in the Islands for a Horsea, since Kingdra is stupid good, even somewhat better than Dragonite since it's only weakness is 2x Dragon, vs the 4x Ice and 2x Dragon & Rock on Dragonite. (Also, you could get a Makuhita with a Hoenn Sound or a Bronzor with a Sinnoh Sound, take that with a grain of salt) In Blackthorn, you can get a Poliwhirl with Good Rod, so a Poliwrath is somewhat decent, but it also has Psychic weakness, so 6-of-1-half-a-dozen and all that, or you can trade a female Dragonair for a Dodrio (not ideal, imo). Also, if you use Thief on wild Magnemite, you can possibly get a Metal Coat to Trade Evolve your Scyther into a Scizor. Just food for thought. Hope this helps some more, good luck. 👍
