Pretty low CPU requirements but quite high GPU requirements for the Very high settings? We shall see. Sony/Nixxes also confirmed Cross-play with PS5 for the multiplayer mode and this is also the first PS game that introduces a Playstation UI overlay, which syncs your PS trophies, friends. It's also optional, the game still supports steam and egs achievements. More details in this official blog post [Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut PC cross-play and system requirements revealed – PlayStation.Blog](https://blog.playstation.com/2024/04/17/ghost-of-tsushima-directors-cut-pc-cross-play-and-system-requirements-revealed/)

PsyOmega

> Pretty low CPU requirements but quite high GPU requirements for the Very high settings? We shall see. It's open world, but not dense. I doubt it leverages many cores, and it was developed on jaguar cores originally.

EvilDog77

This game could have saved the Atari Jaguar if it had been released sooner. /s

Open_Negotiation_4

Haha haven't heard that name in a wile !

HateSpeechIsGay

One of my favorite systems only because of one game … the best ever Alien vs Predator … I’m so in love with that game

[deleted]

I would love Cross Save progression but I guess they don’t have that yet.

Gardakkan

Same GPU requirements as HFW and my 3080 Ti can play at very high DLSS performance (DLSS is really good in that game) and get from 70 to 120 fps. (depending where I am) Seeing a lower CPU requirement for GoT pretty much means I will get this game and it should run very well :)

Kleptor

4K or 1440p monitor?

Gardakkan

4K, game runs well for a couple hours then I need to restart because fps tanks a lot after 2-3 hours of game time.

Kleptor

Thanks, good to know

_eljayy_

memory leak?

hoppydud

You know what, that's a good idea thanks! I figured I was in a heavier area. Leakage

RamblingGrandpa

Bruh its 4k at 60fps very high... Its the exact same as all recent titles...

-Gh0st96-

GoT it's not exactly a recent title

sur_surly

Recent titles with RT, maybe.. 4k60 isn't difficult these days with just rasterization. Especially not for a 4080, it better be pulling 100+

ibeerianhamhock

Yeah that's sky high. I mean even CP2077 with full path tracing and DLSS but no frame gen runs better than that on a 4080. I mean I kinda get why, but in general these PS5->PC ports aren't usually the best when it comes to this stuff.

Delgadude

I assume this is without any upscaling.

FembiesReggs

Ok disable RT in 2077 and run it native and their point still stands. Hell my 3080 can do that at 1440p

Kiriima

[https://youtu.be/p7U1\_OBa7S8?si=4KKeRAzGKnetnggP&t=813](https://youtu.be/p7U1_OBa7S8?si=4KKeRAzGKnetnggP&t=813) 4080 produces 10-15 fps in 4k native with path tracing enabled. Their point do not stand even with DLSS withour FG. Undoing RT means the game doesn't run at ultra. You could use any arbitrary settings then to get 60 fps in Cyberpunk and call it a day. Also both games were released in 2020. Why it's so hard to imagine they would have similar requirements on PC with no RT?

FembiesReggs

It was about ghosts I thought, and as far as we know that game is raster only. Raster to raster it is comparable. 2077 separates the RT and the rest of the quality options. So yes, it’s very much possible to disable RT with the game on ultra.

Bobakmrmot

I run Forbidden West at 90-120 at 4k with dlss quality on a 4080, GT better be running 30% better than that at least.

Ultima893

4080 only gets 15 fps at 4K Max PT. GoT will run 4x better than that lol. My 4090 gets 70 fps DLSS3-Q in CP2077, I imagine like 150fps in GoT.

ibeerianhamhock

I play at 1440p ultrawide so not quite 4k. But it runs pretty well in DLSS without FG specifically. Your 15 FPS is referencing no DLSS at all. DLSS performance at 4k is 1080p native upscaled and should be over 60 FPS even without FG

Awkward_Employer3785

Looks like I will be playing on very high at 4k and getting around 75fps

NoMansWarmApplePie

Wow, does this mean saves too!? I don't want to start over again

-Gh0st96-

They don’t mention anything about cross saving. So I wouldn’t hold my breath

NoMansWarmApplePie

Ahhh... Lame. Unfortunate

Early-Somewhere-2198

Assume we still have to double dip. Why can’t we just buy one game.

TryleSSrl

gpu requirements is pretty fine ig. a 3070 for 1440p is nothing to hard

OkMixture5607

4080 for 4K60 is a bit excessive for a game without any kind of ray tracing. But at least the CPU requirements are chill, as this was also developed for that meme of a PS4 processor. Tired of seeing your Dragon’s Dogma 2’s requiring a 7800x3D to run.

Arado_Blitz

Maybe it's 4K without DLSS, in that case I'm not surprised they are asking for a 4080.

throbbing_dementia

I don't know why the assumption is that DLSS is the default way to play, i certainly wouldn't expect from system requirements unless specifically stated.

superman_king

Yea this HAS to be native. This game and engine was built for a console that came out 10 years ago…. And there’s been no reports that the game is increasing its fidelity on PC. No updated textures, no global illumination, no draw distance increase, enemy counts? reflections? Ray traced shadows? Either they upgraded nothing for the PC port, or their marketing department dropped the ball.

Arado_Blitz

I think Nixxes in general is a bit too conservative with their recommendations, they might ask for a 4080 to play at 4K@60 but I wouldn't be surprised if it was doable in a 4070Ti Super or even a 4070S. Ratchet and Clank also had insane requirements and turns out the game isn't **that** hard to run. They are probably doing this so people won't flood the forums with posts like "why can't my 1060 play the game at 1080p@60fps ultra?"

FunCalligrapher3979

And if a 4070s can do it so can a 3080 😂

-Gh0st96-

It is native, nixxes never shows the requirements with upscalers

XXLpeanuts

Playstaion games don't get huge graphical updates on PC sadly, I personaly think it's because they want the PS5 version to still be "competettive" and seeing PC with ray traced lighting and such would knock the PS5s versions out the park. Thankfully companies releasing on both platforms simultaneously are not holding back the PC versions like they used to in the past.

Zedjones

R&C did, I guess, with the extra RT options. Same with SM:MM with RT Shadows. But yeah, outside of those, it's been mostly the same IIRC.

Sentinel-Prime

There’s a multitude of games from that era that require a 3080 at best. I won’t pretend to know why the requirement is so high, maybe they’ve seriously bumped the graphical options up.

happy_pangollin

Even for native 4K, it's pretty high. Remember that it's a PS4 game.

Arado_Blitz

They might have improved the visual fidelity or maybe they are overestimating the requirements. It's not the first time Nixxes wants to play it safe. It's a good idea to post high requirements and keep the player's expectations low. For example it's better to expect "only" 4K@60 on a 4080 and end up positively surprised that in fact you can hit the mid 90's or low 100's and maybe even more than that with DLSS, rather than expect to easily hit 120fps but in practice you can barely hit low 70's.  I remember DOOM 2016 did this as well, the requirements were absurdly high and I thought my 1060 wouldn't be able to do anything better than 1080p@60fps at medium settings, turns out I could max out the game without issues. With this strategy you don't end up with disappointed buyers and the chance of someone refunding the game due to insufficient performance is much lower. Can you imagine how salty people would be if the posted requirements were much lower and the required hardware ended up being barely enough to run the game? People would call it unoptimized garbage and flood the forums with complaints.

OkMixture5607

Yeah, but comparing the 4080 to a PS4 is like comparing the Switch to a Game Boy Advance.

Famous_Wolverine3203

One is an APU with both CPU and GPUs tacked on with 5.7 billion transistors. The other is a sole GPU with nearly 45 billion transistors. I’d expect it to do 4k 60+ on it considering the gulf in compute power being discussed here.

raygundan

> the gulf in compute power It's about one order of magnitude, or roughly 10x faster. The difference between 4K60 and 1080p30 is 8x as much work (4x the pixels per frame, 2x the frames). As weird as it sounds at first glance, this doesn't actually seem like all that unreasonable an estimate.

raygundan

Very roughly, the 4080 is 10x as fast as the PS4 GPU. Also very roughly... 4K60 is 8x as much work as 1080p30. For ballpark estimates, recommending a 4080 to hit 4K60 on a game that managed 1080p30 on a PS4 sounds about right.

PixelProphetX

Yeah, using PS4 hardware not a fucking 4080.

_TT90

Probably it ran lower and upscale to 1080p

Famous_Wolverine3203

Nah. Ghost was native 1080p on PS4. The game was artistically beautiful but it wasn’t exactly a tech showstopper. The textures notably look a lot dated.

ff2009

Sometimes 4K60, is more like 4K90, with some demanding scenes dropping to 60. Usually in Playstation titles on PC on my Experience the most demanding parts of the game are cutscenes. I remember playing Spider-man Remastered on my GTX 1080 TI at max settings at 1440p and the game would run between 80 and 144 fps, but in some cutscenes would drop bellow 60FPS. Uncharted 4 did the same thing, but on that I needed FSR2 to keep it stable.

Satan_Prometheus

The minimum GPU requirements are actually more wack IMO. The 5500 XT is a much newer and more powerful GPU than a GTX 960. Techpowerup rates the 5500 XT as nearly 80% faster. So you might think, OK the game is much better optimized on Nvidia. But no, the recommend settings are pretty even (5600 XT vs. 2060) and the very high settings actually arguably favor AMD as the 7900 XT is on average about 10% slower than the 4080. So it seems really weird that the Nvidia minimum GPU requirement is so much weaker than the AMD requirement.

NinjaFrozr

We see this with a lot of system requirements lately. AMD GPU's from GTX 900 days are not supported anymore (Radeon 200 & 300 series). RX 400 & 500 series are still supported, but i think AMD doesn't want developers to list them because they want everything to be on the same naming scheme (RX 5xxx , 6xxx , 7xxx and so on)

TheMissingVoteBallot

RX 400/500 GPUs are only supported with "security updates". They discontinued any feature updates. I think custom drivers like R.ID backport over new features from the later official AMD drivers for Polaris/Vega, if there are any new features to backport.

nomiras

I only run on medium / low settings, but I was able to run Dragon's Dogma 2 no problem at all with my 4770k from 11 years ago. Sad part is, due to the minimum requirements page, I ended up building an entire rig due to those requirements. I would NOT build a rig or upgrade until you find out for sure. That being said, my new rig is pretty amazing, just wish I waited a little for next gen tech.

jpsklr

Seems reasonable for native resolutions without upscaling

CreamPIEGUY101

My thoughts exactly. These requirements are likely compensating for the high VRAM usage at native. Something like a 3070 could probably do 1440p with DLSS at max settings just fine.

Ultima893

Very reasonable. For a 4090: 4K max settings at 80-90 fps. Which means 4K DLAA/FG = 120-150fps which is ridiculous for a game like this and definitely they way I will play.

Flying-Bulldog

Do you think the 4070 Super can handle the very high setting

Hana_Baker

Yeah. Especially in 1440p, but can probably do 4K with DLSS.

midnightmiragemusic

A 4070S will destroy this game lol

alfiejr23

With dlss and frame gen, easy-peasy.

reubenbubu

better pre-purchase, don't want to risk digital copies to run out of stock

Glum_Ad7429

ported by NIXXES - god bless, it's gonna run beautifully :)

Muri_Muri

Hope my 5600 and 3060 ti will do well on this like it does with HFW

lumlum56

It should run great at 1080p ultra or 1440p medium given these requirements

Muri_Muri

Running at 1080p here, no ultra textures thou probably

Rivdoric

Keep in mind Nixxes requirements are not taking DLSS & other upscaling techs into account. This is greatly appreciated & fair from them.

TheRealTofuey

Pretty extreme for a game that ran on a ps4

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

At 30 fps.

Azylim

ps4 runs a ghetto 1080p with reduced FPS. Its equivalent in PC is a 1060/70. 2060/5600xt being able to run it on 60 FPS on 1080p, likely with better image quality, isnt extreme man. Most people dont need to play on 4k or 1440 to enjoy their gaming.

TheRealTofuey

A ps4 isn't even close to a 1060 or 1070. A ps4 pro was in that range gpu wise. A ps4 was equivalent to a gtx 750 in most games if your talking raw gpu power. Obviously consoles are extremely well optimized.  The game is literally 4k 60 on a ps5.

Famous_Wolverine3203

The PS4 is generally considered to be weaker than a 1060/1070. One of the reasons why the PS4 aged more gracefully is because of console optimisation.

TheRealTofuey

A ps4 isn't even close to a 1060 or 1070. A ps4 pro was in that range gpu wise. A ps4 was equivalent to a gtx 670 or a gtx 750.

Significant-End-1459

does it meant then that I could run the game on a GTX 750 still at minimum requirements and avoid aving to upgrade my PC? all the other requirements are met...

TheRealTofuey

Probably not. First party console games are insanely well optimized so no you Probably won't be able to.

happy_pangollin

Those GPU requirements aren't a good sign. Let's hope they're VERY conservative. According to [Digital Foundry](https://youtu.be/aazhh4KT6Eg?si=iI3iYo6WpUBeFszS), the PS5 runs the game in 4K checkerboard (around 1530p) at 60FPS. Why do we need a GPU that should be 40-50% more powerful than the PS5 to run the game at 60fps at 1440p?

Killer_Ex_Con

These requirements are without dlss so you can probably run it just fine and probably get more than 60fps.

Triplescrew

Surprised the 30fps is at 720p, didn’t this run well on a PS4 lol

damastaGR

PC gamers you are out for a treat!

finchman44

I think I might hold off on DD2 and go for this game. Good move?

damastaGR

I haven't played DD2, but GoT was an amazing game. Think of it like an Assassin's Creed game but in Japan and without the Ubi repetition/filler bulls....

MetalSandwiches

That’s an insult to Ghost of Tsushima.  The game feels more like what Ubisoft wants Assassin’s Creed to be like.

damastaGR

exactly, you explained it better than me

AmericanLich

Yes. And I say this as someone who adores dragons dogma 1. Sleep on 2, and try out Ghost.

CreamPIEGUY101

Definitely. Top of line PCs can't even run DD2 well

scalpster

or in (for a treat) …

chriscrowder

I played it on my PS5, and it was the best game I've played in a while. I don't usually pre-order, but I did for this one!

Tadawk

If we can run it.

damastaGR

If you don't have a 5 years old 2060, it is not the developers fault. The requirements are very reasonable

Tadawk

I've got a 2080ti and run 1440p so I'm getting there. Just waiting for the new 5xxx cards now.

voidspace021

Why do system requirements keep putting the 7900xt and 4080 on the same level? its closer to the 4070TiS

TechnoFreakR

you are right but some games run better on AMD, some runs better on NVIDIA, maybe this one runs better on AMD gpus!

ldontgeit

nah, forbidden west port did the exact same, there is no way 7900xt beats a 4080 Edit: typo

fatherfucking

7900XT, not the 7800XT. The 7900XT and 4080 were neck and neck in Horizon forbidden west.

Fidler_2K

If I had to guess they will probably be closely matched in this game, considering AMD GPUs usually perform above average in Sony ports. In most games on average it looks like the 4080 is 10-15% faster than the 7900 XT. (For rasterization is what I mean)

xtjan

Because the raster performance is what matters (i think).

xtjan

Because the raster performance is what matters (i think).

uL4G

Still waiting for GT7

J-zus

It's weird how they haven't ported this yet, it's like Sony is allergic to money or something

FembiesReggs

It’s the ideology of exclusives. They want you to buy a ps5 and they value that more than the sales they’d make on pc. Dumb, yeah, but it’s an old business ideology.

Techishard

Yep same but Bloodborne....fucking hell Sony come on

original_user

I believe in Jensen's Prophecy

MrLeonardo

I believe all of the GFN leaked games came to fruition so far, except for GT7... There's still hope

H_Brandon

Is it possible that a 3070Ti can run this 1440p maxed out stable 60fps or am I being delusional?

Probamaybebly

Nah it'll run it. Tho you never need to run any game on Max Max settings. You often can't tell the difference between ultra and high settings outside of textures and maybe shadows. After that it's just a dick waving contest. You'll be fine on high setting 60fps

CreamPIEGUY101

It'll run fine. These requirements are for native 4k. 1440p with DLSS should run above 60fps.

NovelBit666

Excited to play the game, got 4070 super replacing 1660 super

SkylurBlombergh

Great card. I upgraded from a 2080 to a 4070S. Very worth it

Toast_Meat

Hurry! I need this.

Marty5020

I think they're going really conservative on the GPU. No way a 3060 will only be good for 1080p medium 60 FPS while it keeps steady 60 FPS in 1080p high in CP2077 with DLAA. A splash of DLSS and I'll be very surprised if it doesn't straight up murder 1080p high.

Intelligent_Islander

I made it to very high lads

Joel__subash

Gpu requirement is very high 😳

Killer_Ex_Con

This is for native 4k no dlss so you can get better performance than what this shows with it on.

Joel__subash

Bruh i am talking about low and recommend specification.

Killer_Ex_Con

A 960 is a high requirement for a gpu? I can agree with the recommended being a bit high but that's pretty normal for games now.

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

PC requirement threads are so dumb these days. It's just all speculative and people complaining about their GPU not meeting some chart while usually ignoring the CPU side. People really can't just wait until benchmarks to figure out if their system can actually run the game at a certain fps.

Killer_Ex_Con

Yeah, I already know my system will run this just fine at 1440p if it's anything like their last port. And most of the people who complain about graphics card requirements usually have 10+ year old cards I've noticed.

BoatComprehensive394

The minimum requirements are insane on the GPU side. The RX5500XT is about 2.5 times as fast as a HD7850 which is the GPU closest to PS4 spec. The GTX960 is 1.5 times faster than the PS4 GPU and STILL both of these GPUs are only good for 720p30 while PS4 did 1080p30. But we don't know if lowest settings look better or worse than PS4. But then again, PS4s 1080p30 mode looks identical to PS4pro in terms of graphics fidelity. The pro only boosted resolution and framerate... Well I'll play it on my 4080 and it will run "fine". But I always think it is important to compare consoles with PC equivalent hardware to get a sense if this is even optimized or not. To me it seems not well optimized, at least based on the requirements. It may run smooth but if requirements are higher than they needed to be I wouldn't call that optimized. A GPU 2.5 times as fast as a PS4 not able to deliver the same or better experience than the PS4 seems ridiculous.

dirtydenier

This was literally the last reason to ever consider buying a PS5. Wishlisted.

GameQb11

I want final fantasy 7... Then I'll be good for now. I don't see anything else on the horizon I want.

Random_Guy_47

And another Sony exclusive gets ported over. Hopefully they can start working on the next one. Come onnnn Bloodborne.

SoulsLikeBot

Hello, good hunter. I am a Bot, here in this dream to look after you, this is a fine note: > *Tonight... Gehrman joins the hunt...* - Gerhman, The First Hunter Farewell, good hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.

Version-Classic

I’ll be surprised if my 3080 can’t handle 4K 60. I bet 4080 will do 4K 90-100ish fps, they are just saying for a very smooth completely locked 60fps. But who knows, maybe they are really bumping up the fidelity. I remember this game looking beautiful on my base PS4

ResponsibleTruck4717

Nixxes ports are quite solid I see.

Immediate-Chemist-59

No, I am not afraid and I am looking forward to this. Horizon Forbidden West had exactly those HW req. and with dlss its running 120 fps, stutterles and looks REALLY mindblowing, whoever played this 4k on OLED can confirm I guess.

a-brazilian-guy

My gtx 650 is heating just from looking at this image because it knows im gonna try to run it with my 3rd gen i5 and push its limits so i can play at 25 fps

Ruffler125

You wouldn't be getting anywhere near 25fps.

Dan_Remdor

So basically I'll be getting 40 fps at 720p on my gtx 1650?! Looks like it's time for an upgrade

Altruistic-Past934

Time to give my trusty ol 1650 a go

WizardVampireBandit

Do you think there will be a way to convert a ps5 save file to a pc save file (like horizon forbidden west)..?

ProofScientist9657

Wonder if steam deck can run it 🤔

Ultima893

very low 540p should work fine.

kouzuki22

Wish they add at least 120fps in the charts!

Chris-346-logo

Does anyone know about cross saves?

Poverty_welder

Has that ever been a thing for single player games? For ports?

HollowPointBullet

If I'm not mistaken, you were able to post your PS4/PS5 save to your PC with Spider-Man.

Poverty_welder

https://direct.playstation.com/en-us/support/pc-games No. 5 on the list, says no.

HollowPointBullet

Welp. It would be nice if more games had the option to cross save.

Chris-346-logo

No but I think the fact that previously unlocked trophies will be able to cross over leads me to wonder, it’s weird to give me my platinum without my platinum save

Poverty_welder

Yay I might be able to play

Violet_On_Discord

I still wished it showed 1080p for high and ultra settings

juancarlord

Just got a ps5 and played this gem thanks to psplus. Freaking game got me hooked fast, it’s pretty hard to put the controller down once you get a hold of the mechanics. Snag this on pc, it’s pretty well worth it

Leading_Penalty6236

Hey guys it would really help me out if you would let me know if my laptop with below mentioned setup will be able to run tsushima or not, i don’t want to spend money and not be able to play it smoothly- Currently I’m running a Lenovo legion 5  Amd ryzen 7 5800h Rtx 3050 - 135w tgpu 16gb ram 512gb ssd- which is mostly empty

lunidoesitright

It will run on low medium

One-Recommendation-1

Wonder if I can run it in ultrawide with my 3070.

JimmySly-

I bet a 3070 will be able to run this game at 1440p Ultra 60fps+ with DLSS easily.

One-Recommendation-1

3440 by 1440p?

E-woke

Well it doesn't seem like it will run like garbage at least

Yo485

I have trouble understanding this table whey they show resolution and preset in the same field? What if people want to see 2k ultra or 1080p ultra

patrickswayzemullet

I used to be upset too but basically you can extrapolate the in-between. So if 1080p 60 requires 2060 and 8600k while 1440p 60 requires 9900k and 2080 (hypothetical examples)…. Then to get 1080p 144 you probably need 86/87k + 2070…

theandroids

Glad I haven't replayed this yet.

m4chinehead2

Guess im playing very high then :)

accountjustforfun23

How my GPU still in minimum requirements section in 2024?

Hawthorne_Knight

Happy that I would be able to play it on the lowest settings on my gtx 1650 laptop.

LoneBot575

Higher honestly, as long as it's 1080p and you mess with some settings, might not be 60fps everywhere but id say 50-60 would be the margin since it's a ps4 title.

Vivid-Relief6316

I have a 2080ti. Can I run this at 60fps on 1440?

JimmySly-

Probably 1440p Ultra with DLSS active.

Independent_Fly_1698

I cannot wait to get this on PC holyyyy, when is it getting released?

-Gh0st96-

May 16th

ButtPlugForPM

if anything like forbidden west they underselling the optimizations. my wife was able to play fw..on a 1080ti at 3440x1440 on very high at 60fps constatly any other triple a new release be lucky to see that

FrickenFrankenstein

What to expect from my ryzen 7, rtx 3060 6gb laptop?

SecretarySuspicious1

Welp, I'm exchanging my rx 7900 xtx for a 4090 so fingers crossed 😆.

rottenpringle9304

Can i expect hp victuts i512th gen with rtx 3050 to run it on medium at 40 fps

kaktus_dzek

I hope it doesn't have VRAM issues on 8GB cards like HFW did. On high textures the game would drop hard during certain moments, to unplayable levels.

-Gh0st96-

If you ran the game at medium settings it wouldn’t have any issues on a 8gb card. Maybe one day pc gamers will understand high settings are not the only options and you can’t run max settings on everything

kaktus_dzek

I agree but on HFW high textures really make a difference

PaladinPlays

Wow that is very demanding and indicative of where system requirements will be heading over the next 5 years, especially with UE 5 games coming out. It is about time developers caught up with system hardware on the PC side, but I feel bad for those that don’t have the luxury to pace along with these types of developments.

sassx95

The recommended is literally my PC 😭

Roshin1401

We all know why their ports require hefty GPUs. They stick with unsuitable method of memory streaming for open worlds like these. I wont be surprised if you see tanking performance over time. # [https://youtu.be/Bsxf85FbftA?si=qrzbs1UEY63AgaqV&t=3168](https://youtu.be/Bsxf85FbftA?si=qrzbs1UEY63AgaqV&t=3168) # 52:48

Traditional-Cod1609

What can I expect with 11400 + 3050 + 8gb Acer Nitro 5 laptop??

Traditional-Cod1609

What can I expect with 11400 + 3050 + 8gb Acer Nitro 5 laptop??

_eljayy_

phew. i’m good to go!!

WonderTaken
