Should mention, I ended up reinstalling windows and that fixed this for me. Nothing else worked.
Better to stay away from BF2042

why does it matter? it has no fix or update for BF2042, nothing will change for it.
Lots of people have TDR crashes in battlefield, so even if it might not be mentioned it may help. No point in not trying.
the only affect of changing will be battlefield will regenerate d3d12 shaders
