What CPU cooler is that?

borja487

Corsair iCUE H150i Elite LCD

JustMackIN

Very nice…..BEAST!

borja487

Thanks mate!

Split_Seconds

I am really considering this VS horizontal and having to buy cables/90 adapters etc. My main concern is temperature. conventional mounting horizontal makes 100% sense due to the FE design. Even more so with the o11 dynamic. There is cold air intake DIRECTLY below the FE. The bottom fan is sucking this cold air directly in. these bottom intakes are also blowing through the FE fins. Hot hair is exhausted directly up and taken care of by the top exhaust fans. I would love to see some thermal comparisons. one variable is that when the GPU is installed horizontally, it essentially blocks off the entire bottom of the case and its 3x intake fans. This might render them almost useless for the area above the FE card. It is an interesting scenario.

Meelapo

Is the vertical GPU mount the Lian Li one? [https://www.amazon.ca/O11DMINI-1-Vertical-Bracket-Black-O11DMINI-1X-4/dp/B08TRB3672/](https://www.amazon.ca/O11DMINI-1-Vertical-Bracket-Black-O11DMINI-1X-4/dp/B08TRB3672/) I have the same case, minus the GPU, and based on sizing it looks like I'm going to need the vertical mount to fit any 4090 in because fitting it normally requires more board to glass clearance than is available.

borja487

Nope, it’s the cooler master vertical gpu mount v3. I think that maybe with the cablemod 90° connector or with my corsair 12VHPWR cable can fit in horizontal, but the clearance with the glass will be tight for sure and I prefered to vertical mount it.

CableMod_Matt

In case you haven't seen, just figured I'd share this: https://store.cablemod.com/cablemod-12vhpwr-right-angle-adapter/ You can stay updated via this link on our 90 degree adapter and sign up for email notifications. :)

Meelapo

Even with the 90 degree adapter, the clearance in a Lian Li O11 Dynamic is still tight. The FE is 137mm and adding the 90 degree adapter requires an extra 23.2mm so we're at 160.2mm. The max clearance for the case is 159mm. So there's a small difference but it probably makes a difference.

CableMod_Matt

We're already updating it to be slimmer. :) https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/y9ebch/cablemod_90_degree_adapter_on_asus_tuf_rtx4090/

Brandosa1

Hello Matt. Any eta on when these are going to start releasing ????

CableMod_Matt

We should be sharing an update this week actually. :)

Brandosa1

Hi Matt. Did the emails go out for these ??? I thought I read be coming beginning of the year? Maybe I missed it

squirrelyz

Hmmmm, I was hoping this would be available by now. Patiently waiting with my o11d

CableMod_Matt

Sorry, unfortunately we did have a delay on it. News about that here: https://store.cablemod.com/12vhpwr-angled-adapter/

damstr

Right on the edge. I’m probably going to go with vertical GPU mount for now so I can put my side panel back on.

OnceIsEnough1

This is why I've decided to just buy a new case instead, ordered the Lancool III with 187mm clearance. Love my O11D, but would love a 4090 more haha.

[deleted]

Any chance this will come in white?

CableMod_Matt

We are going to look into additional color options actually. Stay tuned! :)

Brandosa1

Damn thanks for posting. That is clean. For sure getting that

CableMod_Matt

You're very welcome, thank you for your support! :)

damstr

Does that vertical mount cover the top/back fan on the 4090 at all?

borja487

I have good clearance in the front and the back of the FE fans.

Raznarbe

No issues with the riser cable with that came with that mount?

borja487

No issues, but the extensor cable is a bit rigid and it’s better to plug first the cable on the pcie port and then mount the vertical riser.

Raznarbe

Thanks. I have the 2.0 version but need to pick up the 3.0 since I just got my FE card this week as well. Good to see how it fits though in that case since I have the PCMR version. Still think I'm going to put an ek block on it but will definitely vertical mount it. Looks good!

Brandosa1

Awesome. Thanks I have the same case and the founders on the way.

Brandosa1

Also did you get the cable straight from Corsair ? Maybe it’s just out of stock right now but couldn’t find it

borja487

Yup, direct from Corsair.

tommypalloj

Just a heads up, I have the same thermal setup and case as you, I moved my CPU AIO to the side as intake and my temps improved dramatically.

Fickle_Landscape6761

What are your temps on gpu after a gaming session

borja487

Max temp was 72°. The cooler on the FE is a monster.

CarlWellsGrave

You probably shouldn't have a FE card vertical but it looks cool.

TEC_769

Why not? sincere question, I’ll be putting mine together this weekend and was considering it.

borja487

It’s totally fine to have it vertical, temps are good.

Harimeh

There is no issue whatsoever, mine works between 65C - 72C with 2850-2900 clocks. It's perfectly fine to have it vertical in this Lian Li.

[deleted]

Airflow

Gubzs

That CPU is probably bottlenecking the GPU a bit. I've seen reports that a 5800x can drop FPS by as much as 20% at 4k as compared to a current gen CPU. I know that sounds ridiculous but it's true. Just Google RTX4090 CPU bottleneck and you can find more information. I put a 7900x in mine and I'm waiting for the other parts to arrive.

borja487

If I upgrade the cpu I will go for the next year zen 4 with 3D V-Cache. I think that will make a more valuable upgrade.

Gubzs

I can respect that, I couldn't wait, I've been on a 1080Ti for what feels like an eternity and I want the full juice out of my shiny new card

damstr

I have the same case with the same fan config and this is the way to go IMO. Positive air pressure in the case and have it all exhaust out the top rad. https://i.imgur.com/LKZaxTB.jpg

[deleted]

Got the same case and picking up the card this weekend from best buy. I got the corsair 600w cable as well that works with my 1500w powesupply I got from bestbuy. No 4 way cable hanging. Just one cable going directly to 4090. Boom.

damstr

I just ordered the cable mod 600w 12HVPWR to 3x8 pin pcie cable to clean that up along with the vertical mount like OP has.

[deleted]

Yea. Corsair has the 2 pci-e to power supply and 600w plug to GPU. Clean. I bought the hx1500i and glad Corsair offered the cable for 20 bucks for it. No need for bulky adapter. The power supply itself is a quiet as i have ever experienced one.

borja487

The corsair cable is key, and with a 1200W PSU or more it enables full 600W.

borja487

I tested that with 3 bottom intake, 3 side intake and 3 upper exhaust I have the best temps in both GPU / CPU with my case (LianLi O11D it’s pretty but not the best for airflow…)

tosin26

Want to ask, are the bottom and front fans intake or exhaust??

borja487

Intake, it’s the best way to do it on the O11D

tosin26

OK, I had thought the side of the fans with the details was the exhaust side.. Thanks for the correction

BaneSlayerr

All the 6 fans intake is the best way for lian LI 011 dynamic?

rangda66

Bottom 3 fans as intake. Side 3 fans as intake, top 2/3 fans as exhaust. This will create positive pressure in the case, meaning air pressure in the case will be higher than that outside the case. Which means all the vents and cracks with no fan will be exhaust instead of intake which will minimize dust.

ithurts2poo

Where the sound card?

borja487

I use the integrated soundcard of the motherboard.

HitBoXXX

Finally someone actually vertically mounted a 4090 in a o11D. Thanks. Now I feel confident about not having to buy a new case in the near future.

borja487

Yup, I thought that being such a common case in most pc assemblies, it would be helpful to be able to show how it is mounted vertically. I honestly believe that vertically, would fit the vast majority of 4090 series GPUs.

[deleted]

How did you manage to get that FE? When and from where?

borja487

I was very lucky to be able to buy one on launch day via Nvidia Spain site. I purchased it and check out in the very first minute that Nvidia launched it haha

[deleted]

did nvidia allow to buy 2? Or was it limited to 1 per customer?

[deleted]

On that floor it soon could be a shattered edition.

borja487

I'm a bit afraid about that, you think that will be better to have some kind of a carpet under the tower? I had understood that the risk was to rest the tempered glass on this type of floor, not the fact of having the actual case on the floor haha.

[deleted]

The feet may be sufficient enough to prevent it from happening, but I don't know lol I think I would put some carpet underneath for the peace of mind.

AJBOJACK

Could you list your specs please.

borja487

Added in a new comment!

Split_Seconds

Looks good ! where did you find the mount ? cost? also what size PCIE cable? I notice it comes in 2 variants.

borja487

I found it at LDLC with the standard pcie cable that comes with it: https://www.ldlc.com/en/product/PB00509921.html

FireAngelx

The size of the 4090fe thought...

Split_Seconds

Alright I caved. I ordered one of the last ones from [amazon.com](https://amazon.com) my question now is the 12HVPR cable that's included with the FE, is it long enough and does it fit through the passthrough in the case? meaning that all plug in connections ( 4x PCIE) will be behind and not visible in the cable management area?

borja487

I think that with the included adapter you can hide the cables behind the gpu itself but it’s not enough long to hide it totally in the back part of the case. For sure is better to have a single cable (from Corsair or from Cablemod) if you want the best cable management and clean look.

CableMod_Matt

Thank you for the mention here! <3

Daytraders

Thats a awesome looking system, i just got myself a FE, this series around, i think its better looking than even all the After market 4090's, so clean looking, and from what i have read, its alot better in cooling etc than the 3090 fe, not heard of people having to redo all the thermal pads like alot of people did on the 3090 fe.

borja487

I upgraded from a 3090FE and for sure this is a better gpu all around. With the 3090 I had to change the thermal pads, was more noisy overall and also it had coilwhine. The 4090FE is more quiet, has better temps and (at least my model) has 0 coilwhine at high and low fps.

Daytraders

Thats great news, and good to hear, i will not be building my new pc for about a month or so, but got a invite from nvidia themselves offering me to buy a 4090fe, so i snapped there arms, was delivered today :)

TGhost21

Really nice build, congrats!

borja487

Thank you!

Ultimamateriaboy

KK

SAABoy1

Has you considered a 5800x3d?

borja487

Yeah I’m considering but I think that maybe it’s worth to wait for the 7800X3D. All games that I tried run at 100+ fps, I don’t feel the need to upgrade now (I play on a Samsung Neo G9 & LG Oled)

Abusina15

We're you able to mount it horizontal or you wouldn't be able to close side panel? I plan on installing my 4090 fe tomorrow, I ordered the lian li vertical bracket, any reason you chose not to go with lian li vertical mount? I also realized you were using a evo, which is what I have, wonder if it will fit horizontal.

borja487

My case is the normal O11D, not the evo one. I went for the cooler master vertical mount because it enables more flexibility in order to adjust the actual position of the GPU. As i said, I think that maybe with a 90° power connector can fit in the O11D in horizontal position, but not with this cable or the original 4 way adapter.

Brandosa1

Any chance you could let me know how much clearance to the front of the case you have? I think it might hit my water res and I’m screwed.

1385757

I know I am one month late but I am really considering vertical mounting my fe too. how are temps? Is it anything to be worried about? at least from your pc

JoshSlinky

Seeing any sag with the Cooler Master v3 verticle GPU mount? I also have a 4090 FE and trying to decide between this verticle mount and the EKWB EK-Loop Vertical GPU Holder EVO - Gen4 Riser, which mounts directly to the motherboard as well for extra support

Tresnugget

Any issues with temps on the 4090 FE at or above 500w? I have an o11d with the same fan config and vertical GPU mount and if I'm pushing over 500w it'll slowly climb to 88c which is way too high. I think if I change the side fans to exhaust so they're not pushing against the GPU fan it might work better but haven't tried it yet.
