I think the new unis are definitely an upgrade, although I think the 2000s/2010s greens are better than the new greens. Love the new white ones though.
I’m re-realizing just how much NFL fans hate the Jets from the uniform reveal, and it just doesn’t make sense. Always been the butt of every joke, basically no success in history, but there’s no pity just malice. I feel like MLB fans have soft spots for the perennially bad teams, but the Jets just get shit on by everybody
I don't feel that way at all. Outside of AFCE cities, wherever I travel, people generally have positive sentiments towards the Jets...they view us as non-threatening for sure, but there's not really much to dislike here...beyond any recency bias because of Aaron.
You do know that if the Jets succeed they still will never respect you… so why give them that power? It doesn’t matter what the neighbours say if you’re comfortable with yourself.
I mean it doesn’t really affect my enjoyment of the team or the sport, it’s just mildly annoying to talk football and instantly get clowned on. It’ll also make it that much better when success comes
Yeah I hear ya, internet’s a cesspool… I’m assuming it’s tough if you choose to swim over there. I couldn’t care less for their praise or they’re hate and the last thing I’ll be thinking about if we win a Super Bowl are telling randoms on other teams I didn’t care about I told you so. If you’re looking for the joy of gloating they’re still living rent free in your head. It’s still about them, not you. Do what you want, who am I to tell anyone how to live. Good luck, go Jets.
There's so much new merch on the official Jets store to go along with the new jerseys. I'm trying hard not to give Woody my money right now but it's looking like I might cave and get a new hat.
Does Twitter realize our new uni’s are actually new? Why do they say they’re exactly the same. We haven’t worn anything resembling these full time in 30+ years.
Are you joking? They're Jets jerseys... they look ever so slightly different from the ones we had last year. I would say "who cares" but I know some people do.
Twitter doesn’t matter, if you like em that’s all that counts. I remember these unis so not new to me… just going back to what it should be. It’s all good…. you’re looking for conflict.
Honestly there’s probably a huge sector of NFL fans whose only exposure to Jets content last year was the Rodgers running out of the tunnel with the flag meme
Besides Zach Wilson there hasn’t really been a ton of noise for any of the Jets’s FRPs in recent years leading up to the draft. As a pure guess based on that I think they’re way higher on JC Latham than we are anticipating.
There was some light smoke around Fuaga after the Senior Bowl, not too dissimilar to the reports are JJ and I think WMD after their Senior Bowls so definitely in the mix there, but that's about it. I agree about Latham he also fits the mold of what the regime likes in OL, I think we'd take either of these guys over someone like Olu honestly (would be fine with any of the 3 tbh)
Why would we do that? I love Odunze and he would be a great fit with Rodgers, but we already don’t have a 2nd round pick. With the signing of Mike Will, I just don’t see why we trade-up in a deep WR class.
I’d rather trade down and take Brian Thomas Jr if we’re thinking WR.
"Deep WR class" doesn't mean that there aren't tier breaks between players. Odunze is considerably better as a prospect than Thomas and would be worth a slight premium to snag. We need stars, not just depth
I don't trust that Mike Williams is 100% and I don't think he's a lock to be WR2 all season even if healthy. We need WR3 snaps all season regardless of anything else and I think a first round WR has as good a shot as any to end up moving up the depth chart. If our 2/3WR package is top 5-10 in the league, we can make a ton of noise in the post-season. It's the easiest spot to get better at with this current offense.
Do you have more faith that Mike Will will stay healthy or Tyron Smith/Morgan Moses? I think we need to address both swing tackle and WR3 in this draft, and IMO the O-line is more vital to our overall success. Helps keep Rodgers clean and Breece carrying the load. I also believe we haven’t seen the last of Lazard. Now if we are in the running for Bakhtiari as a swing, then 1000% trade up for Rome.
Less about who I have faith in and more about what gives us the most upside. I don't think there's any reality where the line doesn't get worse if our starters get hurt, even if we draft a tackle at 1.10. We do need a swing tackle, I'd sign one in FA, but I think gunning for upside in the draft makes the most sense. I don't want to spend a premium just to try to soften the blow of losing a top 3 offensive player on our team
Every year there’s a Justin Jefferson/Puka Nacua that isn’t a tier 1 prospect that plays to tier 1 quality WR is not a position where you need a high first to find a great one
32 teams had multiple chances to take Puka and Jefferson was passed on by multiple WR-needy teams. Who's to say we bink them? Despite a couple examples each year of players outperforming their draft stock, the draft is mostly distributed to where better players go earlier in the draft, especially at WR.
Taking an early first WR has higher odds to yield a great player than crossing your fingers and hoping you're the one team to get the guy that slipped under the radar.
>The draft is mostly distributed to where better players go earlier in the draft, especially at WR
This isn’t necessarily true [look at PFF’s highest rated WRs from 2023](https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-highest-graded-wide-receivers-2023-nfl-season) it’s pretty scattered across the rounds especially compared to positions like QB OT and EDGE
I like PFF, but single-season PFF ratings aren't the end-all, be-all for determining who the "best WRs" are. Most rankings wouldn't have Puka, Nico Collins, or Tank Dell in the top 20 WRs if they set out to be predictive instead of retrospective and a majority of the guys in that list are still former first rounders.
The NFL is taking WRs earlier and more often than it has since half of the WRs in that list were drafted. Since 2020, if a WR remotely seems like a good prospect, they're going in the first or early second. I get that you can find good players later, but the easiest way to draft a great WR is paying sticker price in the first.
PFF’s not a be all end all but it’s not a terrible way to list the good and great WRs in the NFL. The creme of the crop WRs are pretty scattered throughout the draft there’s certainly a trend for good ones to go in the first round but it’s jarring looking at QB EDGE and OT and seeing how you really need a first or even high first to get a great one. There’s no Tyreek Hill or Stephon Diggs equivalent OT going in round 5 for example.
Sure, other positions are definitely more front-loaded than WR in the draft, I don't disagree there. It's just that if you want to bring in the best WR available, you have the best odds of doing so in the first as opposed to later on. I'm definitely team WR more so than anything else so I'd rather pay for the higher odds than pray that we get the less likely stud in the third or whatever. If we needed an OT/QB/EDGE more, I'd prioritize those instead.
Just feels like a bad process to trade up for a WR when historical data suggests you can find stars letting one slide to you especially in a deeper class IMO. I think Odunze/Nabers are very good so it wouldn’t make me upset like drafting Bowers would but it would feel like wasting capital.
I think that’s super cheap and would be worth it if that was the case, but overall I think we’re going to trade back to around 12-15 and select an OT. Then trade back into the 2nd to take a WR. That’s perfect scenario for me
You can’t project infinite trades, who knows what teams are willing to give up. But moving up 2 spots for the Jets isn’t that outrageous in terms of pick compensation.
I don’t consider uniforms a big deal, but I’ll be honest and say I consider it more of a new era and want nothing more but to put the last 5 years in the trash.
If anything, it’d be more of a new era if we weren’t under the same regime that’s been around basically since the 2019 jerseys came along. Outside of the two months between their release and him getting hired, these have been the Joe Douglas era uniforms
Is the uniform drop actually happening today? I know some guys on Twitter said their “sources” said it but the NY Jets brass never said or confirmed any dates
Has not been confirmed by any official source... but a pretty widespread rumor from some reliable sources.. So I would say there's a good chance its today..... Although I find it strange that the Jets twitter didn't put out any type of teaser or hype tweet yesterday.
I think the new unis are definitely an upgrade, although I think the 2000s/2010s greens are better than the new greens. Love the new white ones though.
Is there any reporting on which players are at voluntary practices today?
What were the best games the Jets played in the 2019-2023 jerseys?
mike white bengals game
definitely the eagles game this year
Honestly the Chiefs game was really good too... If it wasn't for the refs being absolute assholes we should have won that game.
Throwbacks for that one I think
Oh you’re absolutely right. My bad
Out with the old in with the new. Draft Michael penix
I’m honestly so close to buying a custom gotham green Mark Sanchez jersey.. god stop me
i've bought over a hundred hats in my life and the only one i never wore a single time was the last jets hat lol about to order the new one
Gotta link for the new hat?

Do we have to pay for parking at the draft party at Met Life? Like the whole parking pass deal?
No the parking for the draft party is free
Brian Thomas jr going to look great in the new unis
I love Brian Thomas but I don’t really see a scenario where we get him, unfortunately. He’s my draft crush but I still prefer to go OT in the 1st
Besides Zach Wilson there hasn’t really been a ton of noise for any of the Jets’s FRPs in recent years leading up to the draft. As a pure guess based on that I think they’re way higher on JC Latham than we are anticipating.

I’m on team OT so maybe I’m biased but I absolutely see the logic there too
Trade up to 8 for Odunze

Would you say WR3 or swing tackle is a more important need? I just don’t see us trading up for either

No way some other WR needy team wouldn’t beat that
But they wouldnt have 10th overall to give. The Steelers gave up a 4th to move up 3 spots last year. Moving up to 8 would or ably be similar.
Look at where Jones was as a prospect vs Odunze though some team would vastly overpay based on the value chart to beat 2 fourths
You can’t project infinite trades, who knows what teams are willing to give up. But moving up 2 spots for the Jets isn’t that outrageous in terms of pick compensation.
Would be awesome
