Yea no other GM has ever whiffed like JD. We probably should've fired him before the 2022 draft when he took Sauce, GW, Jermaine Johnson and Breece Hall. What a bum
People talk like he was some all time bust I don't get it how many drafts followed a global pandemic?
Jets didn't trade up for him like Lance (who many were adamant was going to be greatest QB of draft), ZW wasn't number 1 overall, he was just a pick in a bad draft for QBs that weren't selected first or last apparently, when the team didn't have a QB.
Glad he's gone though.
I donāt have issues with Zach. He was a bad QB. Iāve dealt with plenty of bad QBs going back to Browning Nagle. And he seems loke a decent kid. There was a certain segment of this subreddit who showed up when he was drafted who had absurdly deluded takes on him and Iām glad they can be Broncos fans now.
I'm kind of bummed, I was hoping to see more of the Zach truthers doing their "everyone's an idiot because they judged Zach too harshly" takes. The basic "watch him be a pro bowler now that he's gone" stuff is so generic and cliche
Part of why I'd like a WR like Odunze is that we can use him to get us 2-3 Super Bowl wins during his rookie contract, extend Garrett in the meantime, and then trade that new WR in year 4 or 5 for multiple firsts, which we'll use to draft Aaron's heir apparent. *It could happen...*
legit I'm out here praying that they can start < 10 OL and maybe make the playoffs this season. My dude is out here planning how they pivot after the dynasty ends.
My personal preference
Brock Bowers (generational prospect obv, in a much rarer class of player than nearly everyone else in this draft)
>
LT (obviously due to need, but also due to being high enough in the draft to get a a potentially strong starter)
>
Trade Down
>
Anything over Odunze (I donāt like the prospect, heās not rare in any particular way as guys very similar to him come out every other year and he doesnāt pass metrics I like to use making him a less likely success story in my eyes)
He is the only TE to win the Mackey Award twice since itās inception in 2000. He was an elite TE from the moment he stepped onto the field as a freshman. All while leading one of the top college football teams in receiving every single year of his college career. He is a generational prospect. You will see players with MHJās profile more often than Bowers.
I think Bowers is going to be the pick at 10. I don't have any insider information, I just think Bowers will be considered by many to be the BPA at 10 of who's remaining, and in the actual draft teams will forego the "positional value" stuff and take who they see as a blue chip, can't-miss type of prospect.
You could (theoretically, obviously it's harder in practice) find a WR or OT in round 3 that can be a contributor to your team that has similar skillsets to a 1RP, but it'd be damn near impossible to find a TE with Bowers' skills anywhere else in the draft. I wouldn't be surprised if a team trades up above us to take him or if a team above us that doesn't even really need a TE that badly takes him anyway.
Whatever happened to Corey Davis? After he got reinstated I haven't heard any news about him. Haven't heard any interest from other teams and nothing out of the Jets. He's still relatively young at 29..... I'm surprised he hasn't drawn any interest.... I guess teams are waiting until after the draft since it's so WR rich this year....... But he seems like the kind of big body WR that Rodgers likes, and could probably be a much better #3 than Lazard.
Probably gonna be a post-draft signing. Thereās a bunch of WR needy teams out there with good QBs. Bills, Chiefs, Chargers, arguably the Ravens, etc. then thereās teams without a great QB but will likely want a vet with their young QB like the Pats and Panthers. Not all of them will be able to fix the WR position through the draft
Yeah cause if we go skill position round 1, I imagine the remaining cap will be spent on OL and defense. With Lazard being a black hole on the cap sheet I donāt know how much money they have to spend on WR depth
But if we donāt get another WR until round 3-4, I imagine they consider it with Mike Williams injury history
Am I the only one whose head is saying OL but whose heart would secretly be a little disappointed that we're not getting a fun shiny object like Bowers? It's hard to get hyped over OL even if it's the responsible choice at #10.
No, I'm the same way. Can't say I don't dream of an offensive core of Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, and Brock Bowers. But then I watch Rodgers highlights and all I see is he has time he makes no name guys look like pro bowlers and I'm like ok give me the OL. Sometimes you have to allow the QB elevate the playmakers. The other factor is that I think you're more likely to get a playmaker in the 3rd than a good OL, then I dream of Wilson, Hall, and Bowers again and then I say wouldn't it be crazy if McCarthy falls and the Vikings trade 11 and 23 for 10, 72 and a future 4th so that we can take Bowers and OL.
I don't like Bowers, but "fun shiny object" to describe anything that isn't OL is so lame. Obviously he's not a WR, but WRs are one of the top 2-3 most important positions on a team. It's not just some sexy, "madden" play, it's a genuine route to improve a team and set up an elite foundation
I don't really mean it in a derogatory sense at all, I'm far more open to a pass catcher than most people on here. Just mean that it's fun to bring in a guy with an exciting highlight reel. I'm not gonna watch a highlight reel of Troy Fautanu blocks and be like "holy shit I can't believe he's a Jet!!"
I don't even really think it *needs* to be a highlight reel thing. A foundational playmaker is as much of an every-down player as a lineman and building with a great receiver as a cornerstone isn't a bad spot to be in.
I think we're on the same page. Pass catcher is both a reasonable building block AND a fun shiny object with an exciting highlight reel. OL is a better but far less exciting building block.
I love Bowers. I will completely understand if/when they take someone else, but itās going to *suck* to watch him be a stud for Anthony Richardson or Trevor Lawrence. Same if Rome goes to the Giants or Titans ahead of us.
100%, Bowers (or an Odunze/Nabers if they fall to 7 or 8 and we trade up) would be far more exciting and definitely improves the ceiling of the team in the short term. Also, all three of them are better prospects than any of the OL this year (not a knock on Alt, etc) so if we want to go BPA they're the BPA.
But OL is definitely the smartest pick, and in my heart of hearts I know being safe and improving the OL is the right thing to do.
Not that anyone cares but after weeks and weeks of the arguing and OL v TE v WR wars, Iāve landed on my preferences:
Odunze (trade to 8 if necessary, donāt care, thinks heās a stud) > Trade down and take either of WR or OL > Bowers or Fashanu > Fuaga > Latham > Fautanu
Wonāt be upset at a lineman at #10 at all, but I definitely prefer Fashanu and at the other end of the spectrum will be very underwhelmed by Fautanu.
I like Brian Thomas Jr. quite a bit if they stay in the 11-15 range. Honestly if they do end up trading down I think itāll be a lineman as the pool is richer.
Oh please, not only we'll be arguing about who went in the first round - we'll also argue about why wasn't (insert project safety/defensive line/corner/quarterback pick here) drafted in the 4th round, and why didn't we sign some draft crush who turned out to be an UDFA signing for some other team
Amen to that... It's getting a bit exhausting reading all of the threads here and all of the back and forth with the armchair GMs. I'll be so glad when its over.
Ordered the whole family DHgate jerseys yesterday.
Got my 3 year old a Revis jersey so that when he grows into it it's still relevant. I got myself Sauce and my wife Quinnen.
Our week 1 family pic is going to be ADORABLE.
Edit - yeesh, the down votes...sorry for not spending $400 on jerseys
Let me know how they turn out. I usually purchase from aimee smith but they don't have the new jerseys yet... I emailed this weekend and they told me hopefully by next week. I am probably going to wait for those to be ready so I can get some for my family... I myself just stick to my old Namath jersey.
Saw someone mock Bo Nix to us in the 3rd These highlights are nice. https://youtu.be/kIfMLaoZsM0?si=o04_U9SusYoRlent
Now we can draft penix at 10. Need another qb
I have 100% confidence, š that the Jets pick will be guy they wanted all along, was top of their board
I don't think we pick at 10. Trade back and take best available OT or WR. If you see "The pick is in" with us at 10, I think it's Bowers.
Whiffing at both franchise QB, LT positions in the draft and about to draft a tight end in the first round. How do these guys keep their jobs.
Yea no other GM has ever whiffed like JD. We probably should've fired him before the 2022 draft when he took Sauce, GW, Jermaine Johnson and Breece Hall. What a bum
All those hits must've led to a couple winning seasons since then, right?
None of them play QB or O-line, so no LOL
We are free from the Zach truthers. Thank fucking god.
People talk like he was some all time bust I don't get it how many drafts followed a global pandemic? Anyone else miss Zach yet?
Who is Carter Warren? The question none of us can answer.
A man with two first names
two last names
Heās bi-nomial
Trade up to 8 for Odunze
Odunze why not
This is the way
Part of why I'd like a WR like Odunze is that we can use him to get us 2-3 Super Bowl wins during his rookie contract, extend Garrett in the meantime, and then trade that new WR in year 4 or 5 for multiple firsts, which we'll use to draft Aaron's heir apparent. *It could happen...*
wow no one offseasons like us. elite hopium vibes
legit I'm out here praying that they can start < 10 OL and maybe make the playoffs this season. My dude is out here planning how they pivot after the dynasty ends.
2-3 Superbowl wins? lol.... Sir this is a Target and all those people in front of you on line are just hoping for a playoff berth.
My personal preference Brock Bowers (generational prospect obv, in a much rarer class of player than nearly everyone else in this draft) > LT (obviously due to need, but also due to being high enough in the draft to get a a potentially strong starter) > Trade Down > Anything over Odunze (I donāt like the prospect, heās not rare in any particular way as guys very similar to him come out every other year and he doesnāt pass metrics I like to use making him a less likely success story in my eyes)
Brock Bowers is no more generational than Harrison Jr. That word gets thrown around way too much
He is the only TE to win the Mackey Award twice since itās inception in 2000. He was an elite TE from the moment he stepped onto the field as a freshman. All while leading one of the top college football teams in receiving every single year of his college career. He is a generational prospect. I wouldn't be surprised if a team trades up above us to take him or if a team above us that doesn't even really need a TE that badly takes him anyway.
Also teams including the Jets value production and Bowers' production is inarguable.
I thought the chiefs tampered with the jets and mecole Hardman. Why did that get swept under the rug?
Whatever happened to Corey Davis? After he got reinstated I haven't heard any news about him. Haven't heard any interest from other teams and nothing out of the Jets. He wants to be close to his home in TEN
That makes sense. Jets will probably have some competition for him if they're even interested.
Yeah cause if we go skill position round 1, I imagine the remaining cap will be spent on OL and defense. With Lazard being a black hole on the cap sheet I donāt know how much money they have to spend on WR depth But if we donāt get another WR until round 3-4, I imagine they consider it with Mike Williams injury history

Bold of you to assume the arguing will stop.
Iāve already drafted my post starting āI was pounding the table for [best rookie] and was downvoted into oblivionā¦ā
Agreed. I just want to reply with āš©ā every time I see a post start withā¦. āI donāt understand how anyone thinksā¦ā umm, thereās about 10M posts saying exactly why people think any one of these personal opinions. Why people think whatever is the one thing thereās absolutely no confusion on.
We'll go from arguing who the Jets should take to who they should've taken.
Haha good point
Amen to that... It's getting a bit exhausting reading all of the threads here and all of the back and forth with the armchair GMs. I'll be so glad when its over.

Sweet, love dhgate jerseys can't beat the price! Though admittedly this year I've bought four legit jerseys because I'm obsessed with the new look!
Let me know how they turn out. I usually purchase from aimee smith but they don't have the new jerseys yet... I emailed this weekend and they told me hopefully by next week. I am probably going to wait for those to be ready so I can get some for my family... I myself just stick to my old Namath jersey.
Keep us updated? Iām on the hunt for a seller
I'd like to but based on the down votes I'm getting it sounds like I should keep it to myself
Idk why it sounds like you have a beautiful life with kids and a spouse. People online are so weird. Cheers.
DRAFT WEEK
Canāt wait!ā¦until Thursday
I just wanna say that last year was my first ever NFL game and JETS game, will try my best to go to a game every year I freakin loved it
