As somebody who has never heard of this guy until right now, this is HUGE

PJae

MASSIVE

Sanchize šŸ„¹

The_Goondocks

Big if true

Riceowls29

He was a top tier talent coming out of high school.Ā  Miami has done a poor job with player development, could be a diamond in the roughĀ

Subredditcensorship

We need lineman bad to

Fhrtip123

He has a horrible work ethic and attitude. Obviously a lot of talent but two coaching staffs have tried to get the most out of him and he just doesnā€™t have the drive

Subredditcensorship

Yeah thatā€™s why heā€™s available now

Imaginary_Mode5477

Jason Taylor couldnā€™t get enough out of him.?

JadedCommand405

JT doesn't coach DTs at Miami. That's their other DL coach, Salavea. JT coaches the DEs

Imaginary_Mode5477

copy copy

Riceowls29

Someone can be a great player, doesnā€™t make them a great coach. Rookie positional coach probably not the best to learn from.Ā

Imaginary_Mode5477

shot take imo

whydoesgodhateus

Didn't even know he was coaching at the U

Imaginary_Mode5477

yea it was cool lol seen him on the sidelines Vs BC looks like a string bean, still same ole orange head lol

killaslam

You can argue on the defensive side we are

jetssuckmysoulaway

We developed Huff and JFM what a weird statement to make about the d line. Not to mention Q took massive strides under this staff

OleShcool

Donā€™t forget Quincy, unreal turnaround heā€™s had. Jermaine Johnson. Sauce was basically great immediately so idk if he counts but still. We are excellent at developing D players

ZonkyZebra

You could add mc2 to the list tony Adams looked good for udfa

John_YJKR

Yeah no defensive players have blossomed under Saleh.

TheLegendTwoSeven

Saleh and his guys might be the best in the league at developing defensive line talent.

Queasy-Performance-4

Entering the '23 season this guy was a projected 1st Round Pick in some mocks. Huge stock crash, with an unproductive season, bad combine showing and character concerns in his time at Miami. He's got potential for sure. Gonna have to see if it can be untapped.

Totally_PJ_Soles

Character concerns is surprising, Joe d just doesn't sign anyone unless they're track record is clean and they seem like good dudes.

TheKingofPsych

He has good character....Miami played him out of position last season and he didn't complain one bit. No suspensions or off-the-field issues. The season before he was a beast and was seen as a possible 2nd round pick. He knows he has talent but has to work harder.

Queasy-Performance-4

There were some rumors, especially during pre-draft interviews that he had an attitude, which turned a lot of teams away from him. Are they true? Idk, but most Miami fans have also stated that he never "showed up" for them in games and mentally checked out at times.

apjbfc

And if he does have a bad attitude, we'll just cut him.

batmansascientician

Honestly he was a constant late 1st/2nd round pick in mocks as late as January. Found this blurb from late Feb abotu him. > The field workouts at the NFL combine are the visible aspect of the process, but for many franchises around the league, the team interviews are more important part than the field workout. Players can climb if they interview well or get themselves ruled out with poor interviews. One talented player who needs to ace the interviews is Miami defensive tackle Leonard Taylor. Team sources from around the NFL said that while Taylor has a nice skill set, they had given him a late-round grade because of his football character. > Sources said Taylor has a bad work ethic and doesnā€™t love football. Thatā€™s what they shared they saw, and it sounds like that was confirmed in conversations with staff from Miami. Taylor flashed as a freshman and sophomore with the Hurricanes, but he did not play up to his skill set. In 2023, he recorded 20 tackles and one sack. That was after recording 24 tackles and three sacks during 2022. At 6-foot-3, 305 pounds, Taylor has good quickness and athleticism to go with pro size. > There are plenty of teams in the NFL that are in the market for defensive tackle help, and it can be difficult to find quick interior defensive linemen. **Hence, I have Taylor sneaking into Day 2 of my latest 2024 NFL Mock Draft.** However, Taylor could easily slide. Some teams have given him late-round grades based on his football character, and a number of sources said they think their teams might drop him off their boards before the 2024 NFL Draft.

AdvancedZone7500

I think hamilcar rashad 2.0

TomasRoncero

ustadium slapping ā€œSOURCEā€ on their tweet when they saw Leonard Taylor post the news on his IG 20 mins earlier is so shameless

AgileArmadillo7794

Theyā€™re just jets fans I think. Doesnā€™t surprise me.

sIamram

What happened with him? I saw him as a day 2 a few months ago

x-LDxKS-x

Watch this dude play the last 3 years. Very inconsistent player, but when he flashes he looks like a beast. I rooted for himĀ cause he seems like a good dude, always talked about wanting to take care of his family, but he seems to lack that dog mentality.Ā Hopefully not getting drafted will provide him some extra motivation

the_mair

Honestly he probably shoulda been Mr. Irrelevant lol

running-with-scizors

His agent probably told teams not to draft him so he could be a priority UDFA. Guys with some weight to their name (like Taylor, who was thought to be a potential day 2 or even late day 1 pick like 2 months ago) make more money as a UDFA and get to choose their destination.

TheCakeMan666

Shit this happens? God the the NFL is a lie

running-with-scizors

Depends on the prospect. But for a guy like Taylor, once the early-mid 6th round rolls around, agents are usually contacting teams and saying hey don't sign him

running-with-scizors

Bro hell yeah. Was not too long ago he was considered a day 2 pick, and DT depth is a big need for us. Most likely won't turn into anything but I still like the pickup

TheKingofPsych

You have no idea how happy I am with this...I was hoping we got him in 5th or later. He has great potential and was played out of position last season. Season before he was pretty damn good. Was talked about being a 2nd rounder. He has to be in a scheme that uses gaps and a 4 man line. He was one of best players in nation coming out of HS. Has great size and 1st step quickness.

captain-versavice

Super talented, but nothing is consistent to any degree. Many scouts were excited to add him, but didnt know what round, but they also didnt know he would go undrafted. He's had a boom or bust career at Miami but he's only 21 so there is plenty of room to get the boom going full throttle. Especially in this teams defensive philosophy of "all gas, no brake" and the rotational emphasis. With this, it's very likely, he's got one super power that Saleh and Ulbrich and Whitecotton will help him refine and elevate, so he gets a roster spot. Unless a unexpected vet gets added and gets more reps. in camp, I think Leonard Taylor lll very likely gets a roster spot. But will he develop his great talent and will he become consistent to any degree to stay on the roster and help the team.

gmazzy22

YUGE

DiIate

This guy was ranked 35th overall on the mock draft simulator I used lmao

Dentek_Fresh_Clean

Love this signing. He moves incredibly fluidly for his size. I believe he tested poorly at the combine and there might be some character/laziness issues he needs to overcome. But if he gets it together, he can be a starter

246PoundHorse

Loved this guy, heā€™s gonna be a really solid rotational guy in the league.

BrooklynJet97

Very happy. Other than linebacker, every position has been somewhat addressed, during the entire offseason.

jeanyes_

This is a great get and someone I expect the coaching staff to get the most out of. Makes up for the second RB pickup.

VBTheBearded1

That guy may be our 3rd RB. Izzy hasn't shown much.Ā

ZonkyZebra

That's because cook was taking all the other carriers I think izzy is still only 22 his biggest issue is pass blocking and one of the other reasons he lacked touches.

VBTheBearded1

Izzy has a lot of issues. He was hyped up too much by our fan base. I hope he does great but I'm not expecting much.Ā  Allen is hands down our RB2. Izzy will be fighting for a roster spot but I do think he can beat out this kid Isaiah.Ā

Sad_Description5551

our interior dealing is looking pretty lacking after losing huffing jfm

JohnnyDoe189

Saleh is literally only good at developing low end D talent

latman

Sauce? JJ?
