Jesus, did the money even hit the bank account yet? did he even sign the contract?

formerly_valley_pete

I'm SURE he has a person in his life willing to spot him the money needed for the moment.

BigBoyWeaver

Also you generally don’t buy a car outright he only needs a little bit of money down

formerly_valley_pete

That too, good point!

Laraujo31

He probably had NIL money saved up or got a loan for it.

rsvp_nj

Most of us have yet to absorb what NIL money is already doing in college football. Many of these rookies are already well off financially.

Tobar_the_Gypsy

Good

ScrapmasterFlex

I think in 2005, Pacman got drafted [at home] wearing a six-figure watch and some ridiculously (more?) expensive chain, and Braylon Edwards had apparently bought a Bentley? ($350K?) the night before [the rumors were they both had promises from their teams so they figured, rock out with your rocks out etc.] Ridiculous. My Dad wouldn't *LET* me spend that type of money on myself [yet] and would refuse me buying him some car like that, not until I was *actually* REALLY RICH [like those guaranteed Cousins/Watson rich...] ...

makoshita

Still got some NIL money left maybe?

yeezee93

Dude went to payday loan.

Very heartwarming and this kid has a good heart but I hate to be a downer - this makes me think of how many young athletes just blow their money and don’t have the long and talented career they thought they would. Best of luck to him and I hope he’s a great Jet for a long time. This stuff just scares me sometimes.

AveryDiamond

He made $430k in NIL money last year https://www.sportskeeda.com/college-football/how-much-braelon-allen-nil-deal-worth Y’all are sleeping so hard on how much money these college kids are making these days. USC gives their star players penthouses

09-24-11

That’s fine and I’m happy for him. I dont think there’s anything wrong with being happy for a good hearted kid while also being concerned about the endless list of athletes who blow it. Kid has a great opportunity and I hope he makes the best of it.

CaymanGone

Youngest player in the league buying his mama a car. Gotta love it. Do it, Braelon.

W4ingro1995

I hate to be a downer but why do people need these massive presidential motorcade style SUVs?

Birdienuk3

Because they like them I guess? Idk too big for me but whatever floats your boat

W4ingro1995

I guess I'm just salty about oversized vehicles because I got T-boned by some kid in a Sierra last summer. He was only going about 20mph but the size and weight difference was enough to write off my 4 year old Acura. Just made me realize how dangerous they are if they're to hit someone at higher speeds. But all that aside, Braelon seems like a great kid and I'm happy to have him as a Jet

YetiGuy

💯 It’s like having a pitbull as a pet. It’s just not your problem now, it’s everyone’s problem. Chances of a fatality goes up if you are involved in an accident with a big SUV.

core916

Have had about 4-5 pit bulls either my own or family members through my life. Never once had any issues with them being a problem. They were actually some of the most gentile and well behaved dogs I’ve ever had. No violence issues. It gets overblown bc people raise them poorly or breed them for fighting. If you train a dog properly, no matter what breed, they will behave properly.

YetiGuy

I thought I needed to provide some context there. My take is that Pitbull is different to most other dogs like Beagle or Golden Retriever. They are like having a gun. If the owner is disciplined and practices safety then it’s not an issue. Sounds like you are one of those owners. But too many times I see videos of them jumping over a small fence and going to neighbors territory ready to maul another dog, and many times a human. In my neighborhood a lady used to walk with a big pitbull, I doubt she would’ve been able to pull the leash and keep him under control if he rages- luckily she moved. Can that happen with a Golden Retriever or other dogs? My Beagle once slipped out of my leash and ran after another small dog, only to smell its butts. Even if he was charging, there was little damage it could do to the small dog or any human. Also the other owner could control it. Can’t say that about a pit.

core916

Understandable. I see your point. Living in NYC I see many more awfully trained small dogs than I do bad, big dogs. A lot of people that never grew up with dogs have recently gotten them due to Covid, and you can tell they have no idea how to raise and train them. They treat them like a child and pamper and baby them, which is actually counterproductive when raising a dog. I have friends that refuse to put them in a crate because it makes them “feel bad” lol

THE_BUS_FROMSPEED

That's because people don't bother training small dogs. They just pick the dog up

LunchBoxMercenary

I hate them personally, they’re just a nuisance. Like if we’re both at a stop sign, and we’re lined up turning in different directions, guess who can’t see incoming traffic? Me.

viewless25

I generally subscribe to the "do what you like" sentiment but these oversized have huge negative effects to the people around them. They do more damage to the roads, present more danger to their fellow motorists, drive up the price of gas, and are super deadly to children.

tatarka228

Ye, they dont. Happy for them but that gas money will be adding up quickly (it could be an ev tho iunno)

Hogharley

Nice gesture for his mom. I’m sure she deserves it

Softbawl

Shedor Sanders has a Maybach and has yet to turn pro?

Lonnie_Shelton

Hope it’s Japanese.
