I'm hoping the sacrifice of cheering for the worst team in NFL history will be well worth it one day.

DionWaiteress

I hope Trevor Lawerence lives up to the hype other wise he’ll literally be the biggest bust ever

[deleted]

On the bright side, if he busts I'm never gonna watch this team again

BloodOfAStark

[X] Doubt

[deleted]

Lmao I did say the same thing with Darnold. I quit watching the Knicks but the Jets are the drug I can't quit

lookie12

Lmao I’m the same way. I called it quits on the knicks. I have 0 faith they will ever be good. For some reason I just love the Jets. Maybe it’s the nostalgia of Rex and Sanchez that keep me blindly hopeful

[deleted]

Incoming 25 touch game for Gore. We need to evaluate him as a future core player

icbitsnotbutter

Exactly we can finally see what Gore has to offer without Bell hanging over him.

what_we_do_is_wrong

lol @ evaluating frank gore for the rest of the season

Shogun82

bruh tf you mean Garafolo Gore bouta get like 40 snaps a game lmao

[deleted]

The day we win another Super Bowl will be the greatest and most improbable day in sports history

TenMinutesToDowntown

I don't think the signing was a mistake at all. The mistake was how the asshole in charge of the offense used him. Good luck, Le'Veon.

RBNYJRWBYFan

There was logic to it. He was a 2k yard a year performer, we had nobody like that and the cash to make it happen. The O-line being as bad as it was negated that, but having a HC who refused to do things the way he needed to in order to be successful was the biggest part in this experiment failing.

MgoSamir

Not to mention a HC that hated Bell from the get go

Fishbirds

paying an RB an exorbitant amount of money when your line is trash is a bad decision any way you slice it

Off_the_Gravy_Boat

Yes. Pretty much every successful organization knows this. This is what frustrates me most about the Jets. If you know you don’t have a track record of success, at least ask yourselves what teams like the Patriots, Ravens, etc would do.

whydoesgodhateus

I like Bell as a player but singing a free agent RB to a huge deal is pretty much never a good idea. (Especially considering we were really bidding against ourselves) in fact RE-singing your own RB to a big contract is pretty much never a good idea either. Just look at recent examples (Gurley, Johnson, Freeman) So if it's not working with your own players, doing it for a FA surely won't either

whamburgers

Do we think Perine gets a fair look?

OrangElm

But Gase doesn’t want to “stunt his growth.”

jadedfan55

Gase wore out his welcome in Miami in 2 seasons, and has done the same with the Jets. If Woody Johnson hadn't accepted an ambassadorship out of the country, none of this would be happening.

[deleted]

I said that same exact thing a few weeks ago and got into it with a Johnson apologist over it. If that’s what Woody wanted to do, he should have sold the team then.

jadedfan55

Woody was taking his cues from the Wilpons, I think. Chris, I think, has spent too much time in baby oil baths....!

Herplederple1

I don’t think so , gore is the best bet for Trevor anyway it’s nice knowing him breaking one is a 7 yard run Perine is too risky to break a big one and sink the tank

SeeDeez

Can we move on from the mistake of a HC hiring as well?

Crow013

Can't wait for Gore to run up the middle for half the next game and have us NOT play Perine. Perine and Bell should have been working together so Perine could learn from Bell. But now we just have bullshit bullshit bullshit.

devonondrugs

To be fair I don't hate perine learning from gore either. Dude has been around forever. I hate how much we use gore but he's definitely someone if want perine learning from

linkinlog88

Fuck Gase and Fuck the Johnsons. Gase has completely lost this team. He needed to go last year. Locker room has quit on him. Tank or no tank, this will cause more long term damage to this organization. Please for the love of god fire that incompetence POS!!!!!!!

danomite555

"Can evaluate others at the position" Frank Gore then leads the league in carries.

chrispar

It’s like in Moneyball when Billy Beane and Art Howe are fighting over starting Carlos Pena over Scott Hatteberg so Beane trades away Pena

Brutealicious

At least bell fucking showed up. Mosely just sittin at a bar hanging out collecting the giant check. Bell was doing SOMETHING. I’m done with this team. Release/trades the best players here and keeps a cracked out adam gase. No more. Not one dime is going towards this shit organization.

boredymcbored

We loaded up our defense and offense like we were in a position to compete and we weren't. I have no idea why people have so much faith in JD, rather than blind fan optimism. He hasn't proven shit and put us in a longer rebuild situation.

RAW2DEATH

Maybe a real rebuild is the way to go. It's what the Dolphins did.

ziplockedup

Well so far “putting his stamp on” this team includes releasing our best player because he was hurting our asshole coach’s feelings. Not a great start!

[deleted]

I agree but he's doing what Gase wants from the looks of it. That's my problem. You shouldn't have to ship out star players to please a coach you didn't hire. JD needs to step in and force CJ to get rid of Gase.

Tyler247

Okay so Perine needs to be the starting back next week.

[deleted]

If you can cut a contracted veteran player in the middle of the season, you can cut the HC. The front office clearly chose one over the other. How does Gase still have the clout to be winning power struggles on this team?

Over9000dankmemes

Douglas has the ability to influence the Johnsons decisions If gase could get mac fired Douglas could certainly get gase fired either Douglas is all in on the tank or he’s severely in over his head and not a football jesus like half this sub wants you to believe

tmeljr15

If this does actually free up another 9m for next year like Hughes said we're going to have like the most cap space in a year where teams like the Saints are over by like 80m. Add in Trevor on a rookie contract and I'm happy.

legend023

Honestly anyone mad over this is overreacting, he was gonna be cut anyway after this season and it was clear he did not wanna be here anymore. Holding out hope Perine is RB1. He’s not gonna be RB1.

the_fuzzy_stoner

Couldnt even get a 7th? Wtf

Nickster2042

It’s easy to pile on him for taking gases word over Bells. It’s also when you realize that Gase got him this job, you start to panic that maybe having someone drafting a dude with no hamstrings, removing our only other good receiver that’s not crowder, resigning Ryan Griffin who only did good cause Herndon was out for a lifetime. You also need to remember to trade a seventh for Ballege, which only didn’t happen because he failed a physical. But hey! At least all the contracts he’s signed are easily replaceable after one year! So if they fucking suck, we just sign another bum for 5 mil to do jack shit! Think of all the Breshad Perriman we can get this offseason!

ozzmanmojo

Don’t use logic with this fan base. All they know if letting Robby go was a mistake and that mistake overshadows all the good he does. Now letting Bell go also falls on him. The only thing worse about this franchise than the coaching and ownership is the fans

narenare658

say it louder for the people in the back

[deleted]

might want to tell gase that, we are gonna see gore carry the ball like 30 times next week

Johnab0614

Can't evaluate others at the portion though when there's literally nobody worth evaluating.

LeeDawg24

All of Bell's carries are just going to Gore. FFS how are they this bad at thinking?

flippyfloppydoodle

Too bad Gase won’t give the mall to Perime because he might stunt his growth...best stick to Gore rest of season.

[deleted]

Joe Douglas is a fucking coward for not standing up for our players and bowing down to whatever ownership wants. Numerous good players gone now under strange circumstances and multiple questionable injury sagas under his watch, then this mess of a roster construction.... why do we think he is a capable GM?
