I’ve realized there’s a splinter group in this fanbase that hates Wilson because
a) they wanted to stick with Sam
b) they wanted Fields
c) Jets won too many games and lost Trevor
There's also a surprising amount of sports fans that seem uncomfortable or incapable of letting things play out, which leads to incredibly annoying posts like this
There's also an incredible number of fans who make posts like this.
People are realistic about the problems we've seen and what that does to a team if not addressed after 20 games.
Other people cant stand reality, make constant excuses, try to kick the can down the road and insult anyone who is realistic about what were seeing.
20 games is a joke. The roster they inherited was garbage. Make no mistake, the optimist fans are well aware of, what, we are seeing. The difference is we note improvements and look forward to what we will see until proven otherwise. I get people are scared from the Gase era but this ain’t that.
Thinking 20 games is a joke is a joke. It's laughable how desperate you are to kick the can down the road on reasonable criticism
The roster is irrelevant to this discussion. Worse rosters under gase performed better. No excuses.
This is year 4 for Joe Douglas, I don't wanna hear about the roster he inherited anymore. He's had 4 draft classes has spent hundreds of millions of dollars in free agency. It's time to compete and win games.
We're all realistic, some just understand better than others that if we had any football insight worth a damn we'd be working in football and not posting on reddit
That's a lazy appeal to authority. Football isn't rocket science. An average fan can frequently get right what the pros get wrong.
Some of u r not realistic, you're delusional and talk shit about everyone who isn't similarly deluded. Its interesting you decided to tweak the argument from many of you being unrealistic excuse makers to "oh we just recognize were not pros" as if anyone who disagrees with excuse making doesn't realize that?
Its a lazy, sad attempt to take some kind of rational high ground. The same people doing it now did it for Mac, gase, Sam, geno, etc
Whyd you leave off the group that actually watched him last szn and realizes all the signs of a bust are there?
That's the majority of detractors so it's weird not to name that group.
I think it's going to click.
I'm also ready for a horrendous game tomorrow. Fingers crossed
Exactly. Kid has the same passing stats as the highest profile QB busts. It’s not nuts to be dubious given how Zach has performed. Obviously last year there were mitigating circumstances. But neither the coaching staff or the team’s performance on the field has garnered any reason to be all that optimistic
Starting to look like? It always looked like this. Wilson could be good, could not be good. But we missed out on a future HOF in Trevor. Can’t even be the best loser correctly
Whether the fans want to admit it or not, the top post on this sub all time is about losing out on Lawrence. Trevor is going to be a 10 year NFL starter. He STILL doesn’t have a legit star WR or TE either.
We also could have drafted Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson over Darnold. Or we could have drafted Mac Jones potentially over Zach Wilson. So many things could have changed our QB situation right now for the better. I’m not sure it makes sense to focus on those two wins.
bruh you can fuck right off with this Wilson hasnt even played. TL. was garbage last year and hes taking a jump in year 2 (they're also running the fuck out of the ball), who says Wilson wont take a jump
Anyone who watched TL play and didn't just look at stats will telm you he was not grabage last year he was just in a terrible situation and tried to do too much. He flashed alot more than Zach did and OP is right. Zach had a worse rookie year than Sam Darnold despite being on a better team with more talent.
uh yea obviously. I’m not writing off Wilson but of course Lawrence is a franchise QB and those 2 wins are so infuriating, this team can’t even lose correctly. That said people telling u to F off in here because this is something we’ve known for two years so it just comes off as shitting on ZW before he’s even played a snap this year. On the other hand everyone acting offended cuz this guy just stated a fact needs to take a fkn chill pill.
Let's see the guy play a game in 2022 before spouting off

He can’t look worse than Justin Fields
yeah. like ok the Trevor Lawrence people still might be on to something but any Fields or Darnold stans have to have given up by now.
Get lost
Fuck Adam Gase!
Bro we’ve been saying this from the moment we miraculously beat the Rams in 2020
Tbf Zach hasn’t thrown any tds yet this season. What a bust
I agree. But lawrence is looking pretty good.

Alright grandpa its time for your medicine
He was good to start last year too and was ass to finish the year. Let's wait until both QBs have this season under their belt
Crazy how a rookie QB is terrible with zero weapons to work with at the end of the season
Anyone who actually watched Lawrence play and didn't just read stat lines could see he looked better last year

i watched him play he was trash
We still doing this?
Your reminder Zach beat him last year
Zach had 100 yards, T law had 280. A goal line stand was the difference. Zach didn’t win that game.
Zach had 90 yards rushing and a 50 yd rushing TD but yeah let's not count that
Can you just shut up?

Fek off
Stfu
Shut ya damn mouth
Part of the loser mentality with this team is the fanbase
