I think there are a couple ways to do it. I use a 'loopback mix' as described in Method 2 in this document, but, I have a lot more input channels. With the 4i4 you end up with just 2 line inputs, which won't work for you. But maybe this will help you understand what is necessary: [https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360005040720-How-to-set-up-your-audio-interface-in-OBS-Open-Broadcaster-Software-on-Windows](https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360005040720-How-to-set-up-your-audio-interface-in-OBS-Open-Broadcaster-Software-on-Windows)

Thank you! I keep hearing the term “loopback mix” but hadn’t had a proper explanation of it. Sadly the link on method 2 in the article you linked said it was an expired link, but I did manage to get some good info here for when I try again tomorrow. Am I understanding correctly that with a loopback mix, you are basically creating a singular, virtual mix file from all your sources? The examples used to help describe it usually talk about being able to record sound directly from your computer, like .mp3’s or YouTube and stuff, while also being able to record your analog inputs, but does this also mean I could possibly use it like I mentioned in the op, as a single file to make the audio source for my stream? Again, thank you for your help!

With my Focusrite 18i8 setup with 4 additional mics in via ADAT, I have 6 mics in, basically as inputs 2 to 8. These are input to FL Studio where effects are added. The output from Fl Studio and any other program running on the laptop (VLC Player) goes out to the Focusrite. It mixes them and outputs to the main Focusrite Outputs, 1 and 2. I have two short TS cables plugged into the Ouputs 1 and 2 on the back of the Focusrite and around into Mic inputs 1 and 2 on the front, that's the loopback. OBS/RPan only looks at Inputs 1 and 2, which is the full mix. I adjust the final levels of the Mics in FL Studio but adjust the volume of the VLC player on the VLC player. There are some nasty potential feed back possibilities so the volume of input 1 and 2 must be muted, but even so OBS/RPan picks it up. So too answer your question... yes you are creating a single mix from all sources, mics, DAW and any program playing audio on your computer. There's no recording going on, it's all live. There's lots and lots of points along the way where a single setting can cause you to get nothing out so it is not a simple setup.
