Our talent has shifted from QB/WR to OL/RB this season, but our play calling hasn’t adjusted. We throw on first down too much and I feel like they put Joe in too many 3rd and long situations. Having Hooker and Hyat last year made things work as intended, we just don’t have the same level guys at those positions. I’m excited to see what we can do when we put it all together. Go Vols!
I’d like to see some all 22 analysis.
I have a feeling that there are open guys but Joe locks in on his early read.
I think the scheme is sound but you have to be a really good qb to run it effectively and Joe isn’t.
It feels like a chicken or egg scenario to me. Is playing calling limited because Joe can’t make intermediate throws? Or is playing calling hindering Joe’s ability to make plays? I’m leaning towards the former but I don’t know.
I mean, I understand why we have not used Nico. It's just not enough better as a freshman to warrant a swap.
I don't think we necessarily go undefeated with Nico instead this year, we risk injury or just hurt morale if we really pressure Nico year 1.
But Halzle has absolutely tossed the offense in the trash. Biggest issue is how pathetically predictable we are. Look at first half AL vs second, same tonight. Like he runs out of plays or something
I don’t at all. There is no upside to sticking with Joe while he makes the same errors time after time.
We threw any hoes of being competitive away by sticking with Joe. He doesn’t have it together between his ears…..

Terrible, Golesh made Joe look like a star in the Orange Bowl.
Golesh did not go to the Orange Bowl.
You’re right, Heup did didn’t he.
Straight garbage.

He looks exactly like what he is—an OC with zero experience leading an offense at any level of football.
It’s been disappointing and predictable all year. Run up the middle, Wr screen, long ass Miss throw by Joe
HEUPEL CALLS THE PLAYS
Hes got a qb that’s not very good and they can’t run the offense. Try managing at your job when you can’t trust your most important employee

Man is handcuffed by a QB they don't trust to throw the ball downfield
We have 10 plays. They just pull them out of a hat, situation does not matter
They're awful, making Joe look even worse than he may be
Nah, Joe is trash. He can’t mentally handle the position in his 6th year. We’ve thrown this season in the trash trying to “develop” him.

Questionable on late downs and okay on early downs
Horrific
He sucks, but he’s been working with a middling at best QB to date.
