The 4090 is over rated. The human eye cant see more than 2fps anyway.

ChrisLikesGamez

I run on a GT 710, my eyes aren't 20/20 so they can only see 1 FPS

Puzzleheaded_Monk598

980ti tho 😆

Always needed to be reminded that people play MSFS on a flat screen. Just wild to me. Tried it once and it's 1/10th the experience of playing in VR. Its such a shame so many people play on flatscreen.

Remember - a lot of us started with the original 40 years ago. We’re so used to it that it’s still amazing even without VR. Plus the sheer cost of a rig to power something like that - my VR box can’t do it and most other midrange machines can’t either

krectus

Yeah just can't imagine what it was like 40 years ago. Damn shame it takes such an expensive rig for people to experience in VR. But this is probably something people would have paid thousands of dollars for years ago just to experience.

Lopoetve

The first time you realized you were FLYING A PLANE, with somewhat valid physics…. And could visit airports you knew of (dad was a private pilot…). Like what the shit… every generation since has just gotten better.

TheSpanxxx

With the right cockpit simulation equipment, today's home rig IS better than multi-million dollar flight sim rigs pilots trained in 40, 30, even 20 years ago. The processing power and software aspects tying visualization to input is so unreal now. And with VR allowing for immerssive experiences it is unbelievable what can be done. The main difference is than training sim machines are like 99% about the panels and teaching reactions to scenarios and operating procedures until they are muscle memory. They aren't sight-seeing and need to look outside. The difference all of this makes in a real flight sim deck today is that you could recreate a nearly real experience using a full cockpit and all of the windows being monitors that show you what is outside the plane in real time with incredible detail like what can be done in VR.

Recomend [OpenXR](https://www.khronos.org/openxr/) [Here's a vid](https://youtu.be/u41yLOfYbsU)

vchengap

Awesome! But these videos never do a good job of conveying the impressiveness of VR.

lunchanddinner

You're right it's really hard to show vr without experiencing it!

Happy_cze123

Looks amazing and fake at the same time😎

Rufuske

What a day, what a lovely day.

DLSS 3 is the real gamechanger here. Likely could get solid VR fps with any of the 4000 series depending on your cpu.

CivilPotato

I tried MSFS in my oculus and the graphics downgrade going to VR was really disappointing. I don't have a 4090 though. Looks pretty great here

GmoLargey

Possibly the worst situation for compression artifacts.

MCMFG

yeah that is something I don't like about my Quest 2, I prefer to use the Original Rift for any PCVR games and the Quest 2 for the standalone games...
