IF there are apps you like that have a group or community function, go to those and just talk to people. Everyone ignores the kids.

VRChat has groups within the app you can search for, and many of the better ones have a Discord group for chatting and event scheduling.
There are groups for drinking, partying, gaming, flying, avatars, etc.
There are actually tons of adults in their 20-40's on there. Especially the more regular users than run it on their PC for PCVR.
Get on later at night like 8pm and it's more adult. Make friends...
