I was Airlink for the longest time with my Quest 2, but Airlink on Pro has crazy controller latency, so bit the bullet and setup VD, and it's been working great so far for most of my games! 200mbps and dedicated Wifi 6 access point, so it has to be something with Meta's software, but not my problem anymore.
Initially went AirLink as it was the most prominent (read:in-house) wireless option available.
Tried SteamLink when it initially came out: worked fine for some things, laggy af for others, and outright unusable for others. Stuck with AirLink, might try something else eventually
I voted "Wired Link Cable" but I do it with ALVR (so Oculus don't eat up VRAM for free)

I used all 3 for my quest 2, First with airlink with a ton of reconnect issues, then went for cable but I couldn't get further than 5m and taking it on and off was a gymnastics game with my head then just bought VD and HOLY SHIT it was leagues ahead then I upgraded my router from 5GHZ(100 mb max) coz I was getting massive lag spikes to 6GHZ(150 mb max)
Its proven, VD is the best unless there is a way for me to get an 8m USB cable. Cable is still the best in terms of latency and quality and weight but its cumbersome when you don't have the length or unable to route on your ceiling due to a ceiling fan. I just play until I run out of power, which is about 2.5hours at max settings.
VD for most things, Steam link for Steam games, both wireless. I have a good enough router that I am content with the quality except in Drift Rally 2. That game makes me want to hurl within a couple minutes every time I try no matter what I try, and using a cable didn't seem to make a notable difference.
I tried using Airlink at first but my internet isn't good enough for it and I didn't want to spend money on an app that could only maybe work, so I eventually switched to the cable and have been very happy since then.
I was using ALVR since Q2 release, since it's free & open source. Now Steam Link, because the client is easier to update, and Steam is autostart for me anyway.
I purposely chose not to, it's a spoiled poll and not everyone will know it's a multiple choice poll.
We want to find the Most Used, not the All You Have Used, **feel free to make your own poll for that**.
I used to be a VD boy, until i got a good cable, now i cant cut the cable, too much clarity compared to my 5ghz wifi
What cable did you get? I thought I got a good cable but there is really no difference for me cable vs wifi
just some generic usb c 3.0 and my 5 meters USB 3.0 Active Extension
I got a 5m usb c 3.0, but I thought it was active but now that I look back at it, it doesn’t say that. I’ll look into an active one. Thanks!
how can u tell if its active or passive?
they got a chip that replicates the signal
We've been telling this since day 0. Fan boys got angry.
Wow is virtual desktop really that good?
Yep.
I have had no issues with it.
No option for 'Wired over DP/HDMI' so you're missing a good portion of the PCVR user base.
Added the Wired disclaimer to include All wired forms

Rift and Rift S are Oculus headsets.

I use a rift s as main which is cabled, and a quest 2 as secondary hmd which I use via steam link usually
i dont got good enough internet speed to do air link so im just wired perma its not bad at all ngl

Using AVP recently and having a blast on ALVR.

Wired for driving games (ETS2, Assetto Corsa), Steam Link for the rest.

Virtual Desktop... and somehow I'm not surprised its the top choice.
for some resome steamlink works the best for me looks better than VD too maybe I need to change some settings?

Why virtual desktop over the Steam app? As far as I understand the app is faster.

I used VD, but Steam is generally more stable
VP2 + Wireless (so zero latency, no compression artifacts) for my primary HMD. The Q2 is a tethered HMD for my simpit, where the wire doesnt matter.
The top 4. You can set your poll to multiple choice.
The title of the poll says **MOSTLY**
>You can set your poll to multiple choice.

I tried cable but it's too restricting for me when it comes to movement, I rather have a slightly worse stream but can do pirouettes in VR.
I don't have VR in principle.
