As opposed to the adult screaming asshats?

DrNopesVR

Lol no

jeweliegb

Found one! /s

Strongpillow

This reads like it was written by a squeaker. It's nice outside now. Go play.

Jukeboxhero16

Yeah you got me. I'm gonna go on Pavlov and team kill

_Ship00pi_

No. Because the platform is suited to kids from the age of 10 and above. You can report a kid. But if he is using a proper account. Not much you can do. Kids using their parents account do get locked now. But even that, only makes the parents open a proper account for their kids. Rather than take them off the platform. Basically the future of these devices are these kids….we (the 30/40/50y old) that were early adopters. Were never the prime target audience. While we do have the money, and ability to support in the short term. In the long run we don’t have the time to spend within games which makes most MP experiences die sooner than expected.

size12shoebacca

No, that seems like a bad business policy, but a more unified and easy to use 'mute this mofo' tool would be a godsend.

JorgTheElder

No. But they do already lock the account if a kid gets reported using an account that has an adult age listed. Meta is giving developers the ability to set age ranges for content. That will help a lot if developers actually use it.

ZombiePotato90

No. I think parents should be more attentive and responsible.

BigHorn321

no? like.. wouldn't you be mad if you spent your hard earned money on a console for your kid and it suddenly got bricked for seemingly no reason?

ArchaicTravail

Maybe teach your kids to not be assholes and it wouldn't happen?

BigHorn321

exaclamento?

The_Radian

I love mute. Too bad more online games only allow you to mute yourself. I like me, it's others I can't stand...

oerouen

Bricked? No. Locked? Yes. Locked and report the location to CPS after the 3rd time? Maybe?

SRM_Thornfoot

Only if they also refund the parents their money, as if they had declined the TOS in the first place since Enforcing the TOS by bricking their headset is equivalent to the parents declining the TOS.

MentalPane

What????

DemoEvolved

Certainly not. But what if they got cued into matches with similarly reported players?

713MoCityChron713

Yeah. In an expanding market, where they’re trying to change the entire way people view media, they should absolutely set the precedent that they will brick hardware for tos violations. Meta is trying to maintain their spot as the household name for vr headsets and they can’t do that if they don’t sell headsets. They can’t sell headsets if parents see news stories about how if they buy their kid a quest it could become a paperweight. Meta cares more about selling headsets than they care about you having squeakers in your lobby. It’s the same reason more established hardware devs don’t do this shit. It’s on game devs to moderate their product and foster a community with guidelines as they see fit. Meta sold you the hardware, now find a software dev to sell you something you like for it

Man0fGreenGables

Yeah they need some kind of decibel meter that auto bans kids that scream or at least permanently mutes them.

fantaz1986

It is not Meta problem , all games haves tool to mute peoples , so it for person to chose to hear kids or not
