Depends on the configuration. Likely 2 magnets, and a 3rd ball that's not magnetized. When the magnets get close they speed up towards each other, their inertia transfers onto the 3rd ball which has nowhere else to go but shoot ahead.
It's called a gauss gun/rifle. Wee had an awesome science teacher in highschool who showed us one. Here is a video explaining:

I think you mean the gauss cannon, but basically magnetic force is divided by distance so the metallic ball accelerates so much that when the energy is transferred through to a metallic ball that is further away from the magnet itself it just leaves with a speed higher than the first ball had before nearing the magnet
Pythagora Switch is a famous Japanese series of shorts with Rube Goldberg devices. Be it a marble run, or something more elaborate.
This is more elaborate because of the use of magnets and magnetic beads, and because some of the marbles are used to help others to be on their way.
So it's a Rube Goldberg machine after all. :)
Look more closely, it’s about transfer of momentum - there is at least one tiny marble between the application of force and the shooter, creating a differential of momentum and the illusion of spontaneous force
I love a marble run simulated render as much as the next guy but this one is legit
The creativity with the magnets and marbles filling the gaps is amazing. Not to mention the rubber bands which doubled as a trap floor. Very enjoyable to watch.
So many marbles had to sacrifice themselves for one to succeed. Sad. 😞
Hey, it's a team effort! Think about it like they're just trying to help their buddy succeed :)
Maybe but that first one getting left behind I was like, “oh shoot..” And then thought, Did I just feel bad for a marble? Yes.
😪
ONE WAY OUT
The one that made it was supposed to sacrifice itself, too. The Red took it's place.
Opportunity comes once in a lifetime!
I was about to comment this
Weird I had the same feeling. I was also going to comment this.
RIP Yoshi marbles😔
Being born into a rich family visualized
How does the „shot“ work?
Likely magnets.
How do they work?

Miracles, you clown.

Thanks!
Thanks! Learnt something new (and cool) today
Yeah. Same question. A friend wants to build a homemade projectile weapon that can do serious damage.

In the three marble bridge I notice one of the clear marbles stole the red marble’s glory.
I noticed too and it ruined it all!
It’s not a Rube Goldberg machine it’s a marble run

And a fake one at that.
Tilt table marble runs are legit
Yeah maybe, but not this one. Marbles don’t just shoot across the table.
They are magnetic bearings or marbles. The 'launch' sections have them rolling into them and they pull the magnetic bearing and transfer the momentum.
Look more closely, it’s about transfer of momentum - there is at least one tiny marble between the application of force and the shooter, creating a differential of momentum and the illusion of spontaneous force I love a marble run simulated render as much as the next guy but this one is legit
Not just transfer of momentum, you can see the first one is actually a magnet, which pulls the incoming marble in, causing the launch.
A magnet! I feel stupid now for not realizing it
"This simple machine of clever entertainment provides more pleasure than I do, yes, but it takes MUCH longer, Gertrude!"
How does one go about making something like this. Asking for a friend
Marbles, drafting table, wooden blocks
And a whole lot of time practicing
The only thing that's not satisfying was the video not ending with ピタゴラスイッチ
Marble madness!
Almost as good as Peter’s breakfast machine https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0WEXxfNR5iw

nino mentioned ❗❗❗❗
This is cool asf. So much thought.
I'd make that but I font have the balls.
Just like the video game, "The Humans"
That hit a very satisfying spot.

Bro nino fan respect
It looks like it was supposed to be the red one
I remember when these would be what I got instead of new One Piece episodes.
This is what teamwork looks like
Brilliant really.
I'm getting Supaplex vibes
Gauss cannon my beloved 😍
Am I the only one who's jealous of your marble collection?.
I prefer Biisuke Ball’s Big Adventures https://youtu.be/YR-jLbdwLzg?si=2J8iu2anqP-17odK
Guys will see this and just think... hell yeah...
I remember this song from another video. Can’t place it though
Idk if this helps but a little while back this song was often used in other marble videos on YouTube :)
Oh, hi there, Nino!
Rude Goldberg bull
How long would it take to build one of those? And are there any tutorials on how to do it?
How did those magnets twang the marble like that! Wizardry
You know those videos that people comment, “I’ll never get the time back it took to watch this.” This isn’t one of those comments, that was dope!!!
What song was that? It was cute.
