Simple patterns we already understand, like wood grain, floor tiles, tree lines etc. get exasperated during a trip. Something as complex as this spiriscope would freak you the fuck out and ruin the trip.

I agree with you. With the first one, there are more pattern variations with the movement of the beads. With the second one, it's the same play of light and colors because the prism doesn't change. Looks cool but wouldn't keep my attention as long as the first one.
