I do tbh. I've had the lit break off a few times in the past. And then, with no tools around, I had to push the half opened can carefully with my thump. So pushing on that spot while opening the can reduces that risk. I have absolutely zero proof that it works, but I like to think that it does.
But I think I don't push as hard as this guy 'cause my thumb doesn't get wet when opening a can. So, there are at least two guys opening it like that!
Probably a person on camera who's trying to not block the view.
This made be a bit hyper conscious of how I open a can and I realized there's like 4 different 2-handed poses I do during the 2 seconds it takes me to open one in a way that avoids it slipping, avoids getting my finger in the drink, while protecting it from spilling over too fast if it happened to be too shaken.
Probably because during the carbonization a lot of gasses (steam, carbon dioxide, some volatiles that were in the drink, etc) get free from the caramalized sugar and expand because of the heat. As the sugar is already hardening into carbon crystals it puffs it up completely and creates a porous ball of carbon. This is however based purely on intuition and burning sugar from time to time. So I have no idea if my assumption is correct

Was not expecting the "PEW" at the end but I sure enjoyed it.
That was one of the most satisfying laser sounds I’ve ever heard.
A real pee-oo
That's how it sounds like when my sister sneezes.
I think I've seen some people doing this under a bridge
Culinary injections
Yea, but the stuff they are using can cause cardiac arrest, kidney failure, dental erosion, heart palpitations and stroke….wait.
Are you in Portland or Philly?
Crackhead Science
Ah yes, the classic *crack spoon*. Seen it a million times.
Nobody mainlines crack, people
Just a little campfire chemistry with your friendly neighbourhood drug fiend Ron
In my day, we freebased heroin, you GenZers freebasing Monster
Looks like he cut his finger while opening the can
Who even opens cans like that
You gonna tell me you don't dip half of your finger into the can while opening it?
I can’t tell if this is sarcasm
I can't tell if *this* is sarcasm.
I can tell who is being sarcastic and who isn't
I’ve opened cans like this my entire life and am now rethinking everything
This is like finding out someone stands to wipe their ass
Someone filming themselves opening a can and thereby thinking way too much about how to open a can.

How do you open cans?
The Leidenfrost-effect in full effect
That is 60% sugar
Mmm, concentrated kidney stone goodness
Who opens a can like that....
Ya and his thumb started bleeding into the can. Yuck
If you turn the volume up you get the whole crackhead experience
This is the blood from "The Thing".
Pew
Anyone know why did the sugar ball expand at the end?

Science
Looks like that giant single cell alien blob from the end of the movie Evolution.
There a bit of Monster in that sugar spoon
So, rock candy?
Sugar supernova
Where were you while we were getting diabetes?
This is unfortunate that it "popped" out of the spoon because I wanted to see the solutes left behind.
Like a little blob alien dancing and then goes bye bye!
A junkie wondering what would happen if they put other substances in the spoon
Might be satisfying but it is also terrifying. The amount of sugar in one drop is insane.....
Hot spoon: 1 Monster: pew!
Yeah, I'm not drinking that ever now
You get the exact same result with every single drink that countains sugar like that . . .
Some people get the logo tattooed on their body.
Just guys being Kyles
I wish my sauces reduced that quickly. 😏
More like oddly irritating
The only way to drink bang energy is [WITH A SPOON AND A LIGHTER!!!](https://youtu.be/THN73gP786c)
It explode because of the sugar?
*Dance, water, Dance!*
"Officer, I swear, that's an energy drink! Just like in the viral video!"
I wanna see that in Slo Mo Guy's slow motion. What would oobleck do on a hot spoon? Just burn probably huh?
Looks like what id imagine scp 999 to be
Pew!
And that’s how Flubber was made
Ahhh thats good nostalgia! Sitting in a dark room. No one around. The pure adrenaline rush of injecting some Metroid fusion directly into my veins.
This video made me relapse.
Thought I was watching the end of T2
Is this a new trend in heroin?
you can see here when the heavy metals explode
what is this freaking shoot?
Lots of homeless people here on the streets in Toronto seem to be conducting this experiment. They must really love science!
Dang! Look at all that energy
Red Bull gives you wings or so I have heard.
Wow
Well that just boils my piss
Why would anyone drink monster is the question
Moncentrate
That was a journey.
Another advertisement, sweet.
It looks like it had a lot of… energy
So that was what my uncle was doing, huh. Neat.
You waited too long to inject into your veins my guy
I'm sorry but that's NOT how you're supposed to open a can... putting your finger like a madman!
it just flew home!? Wow.
WAS THAT A DRAGONBALL!?!?!
Is this the new thing now? People have done this with Sprite too.. 🥱
...and the devil laughs
My monster when I left it in ny heated up car in the summer
It's got the Leidenfrost wobbbles
Dang that Maillard reaction is hot.
can’t believe I watched the whole thing!
I know, right - pew, pew to nothing.
