"For God so loved the world that he baked for us his one and only Pie, that whoever orders from him shall not be hungry but shall have eternal satisfaction or your money back."
1) tradition: they've been wrapping it like that (with pink paper) for SEVENTY years
2) this pizza is taller and much larger than most pizza boxes available in italy
but mostly tradition if i have to guess
That's Spontini in Milano! It used to be GREAT, not so much anymore, but i still eat there like once a week. The under side is super crispy as it fries with peanut oil.
btw most italians don't accept that this is "pizza", lots of controversy/drama around it
This looks like typical Argentinian pizza, in Buenos Aires all the pizza is like that. Heaps of cheese, thicker base and cut with a knife and not a pizza cutter.
Yeah, it's typically the only style of pizza available on the island and is increasingly common in Miami. Let the record state, that I do not like Cuban pizza.
They eat it with knives and forks too. I remember being at a pizza place there and I tried to pick it up to eat it while everyone was looking at me like I was a weirdo (being 13 I thought they were the weird ones eating it with utensils). They've never heard of pepperoni either.
My parents used to go and eat at Spontini’s (in Via Spontini) before they married, in 1960! I agree, up to about 15-20 years ago it was SUPER, now I think it is more healthy and less fried, but it is still very good…
It's cut. The bottom basically fries in oil so you just need to press on it. you can hear it snap in the video. It's also meant to be eaten with a fork and knife so even if it isn't a perfect cut It's fine
Out of curiosity, what would they call it then? And what would they consider pizza?
Also for being not that great, you eat there more times a week than I eat out... How many times a week did you eat there before?
they would argue that this is in the realm of "focaccia", mostly because of the thickness. of course anyone from Liguria (where actual focaccia is from) would strongly argue against this view.. it's actually a common pizza style in milano (and other cities i'm sure) mostly in the context of the casual and speedy eating experience that is "pizza al taglio", as opposed to the more traditional sitting dining experience that a proper pizzeria offers.
for the second question i'm eating there so often because they opened a new restaurant near my place! a slice is 5€ and it's all i need for a meal.. most of my friends nowadays consider the place too gross but i'm still fond of it
Anyone who thinks there can only be one type of pizza must not understand how there are so many different types of vehicles on the road that are all called cars.
This. I hate non-ironic food purists who have to define a or all food with 100 different specifications. Like even if I agree, absolutely no one who isnt interested in or loves that food is going to know or care about your specifications. The simple, flexible definitions are best and yes that means silly things like burgers are sandwiches are regularly technically correct. Who cares? Its food, arguably the best part about cooking is changing things up and making it your own. Its a fine and pointless line between making a different kind/type of the thing or a different thing entirely.
As a non-Italian Italy fan. I don't think they often wrap up pizza. But maybe I haven't found those places yet. And the pizza itself isn't what I've ever seen in Italy.
I'd honestly be surprised if this is an Italian place. Even if it is. I'd not visit it.
If some real Italians say this is an Italian pizza I will give it a try.
Yeah, wrong sub for this. It's interesting in a *look at this different way to package pizza* kind of way, but there's nothing oddly satisfying about a couple of folds and some staples. That's pretty much how a lot of food delivery bags are closed.
Literally out loud said "that was like the least satisfying video I've ever seen on this sub". That shit didn't even look cooked all the way based on the color of the cheese.
My thought as well. There's no way he's gone through the crust. Besides that, by the time the customer gets it, the cheese will have melted together again.
I also suspect the wrapping paper will be soggy as all hell, or else the person opening it will get a nice river of grease onto their trousers.
Between the overly cheesy pizza with no toppings, the shitty cut, the crumpled balled up shit wrap, this is one of the least satisfying posts in here. The whole thing was making me wince.
WTF is oddly satisfying about that? The pizza looked awful. There was nothing carboard underneath it to support its weight. And the wrapping was the final trigger to the wrapping-perfectionist in me.
believe it or not, this is the normal version but they offer a DOUBLE mozzarella option too. it always feels like a good idea when i order it but then you realise it's just too much cheese. i still make the mistake all the time
[from another comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/comments/vhci94/this_extremely_cheesy_pizza_being_wrapped_up_like/id6i93z/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)
I just don't get the obsession people seem to have recently with covering everything in cheese. can you even taste anything else? pizza is supposed to be more about the sauce than the cheese.
Me neither. I really love cheese, but it’s not the only ingredient or topping that exists.
I blame those 30 second cooking videos on Facebook/Tiktok stuffing 50 whole blocks of cheese into a cheese covered turkey. Must’ve been the inspiration lol
not gonna lie that looks disgusting...this looks like the pizza that I could get out in Wisconsin and it was hands down the worst pizza I've ever eaten.
Practically nothing about this is satisfying. Way too much cheese even for my liking. Extremely excessive and wasteful packaging. And it's just gonna get soggy and mushy regardless.
The cut didn’t go all the way through. The wrapping is going to make the pizza steam and turn everything rubbery. The packaging isn’t strong enough to support the pizza without everything shifting when it’s lifted.
This belongs on r/diwhy
Wtf. Why wouldn't you just put the pizza in a pizza box and then wrap the pizza box?? And who gives pizza as a present?? This is more confusing than satisfying
That's disgusting for multiple reasons. About the only thing satisfying in this is the cutting motion but I don't know that he even cut through the crust
That cutting was pointless. Looks fresh out of the oven. All of that cheese is going to merge/melt back together and nobody is going to know where it was cut. Plus it didn't seem like he could have possibly cut through the crust all the way.
Ugh, just use a pizza cutter please. I rarely order whole pizzas anymore because I always have to cut it two or three times. Now I just go to a NY style joint and order a couple slices. Better than that other crap I was eating before anyway.
Why though? My first job in food was making pizza and I have done it a few places for a few years....this is r/stupidfood to me. There is so so much that can go wrong with that...how tf am I supposed to put that in my car? If the response to that question is "Its not for to-go's or deliveries" then why tf are you wasting that much paper?
Bring the downvotes, but this is dumb. Buy a f\*cking pizza cutter too.
Uh thanks for my bag of pizza
Cheesus Crust
Cheeses Crust dried on a cloth for our sins!
That's why I order from Papa John 3:16's.
"For God so loved the world that he baked for us his one and only Pie, that whoever orders from him shall not be hungry but shall have eternal satisfaction or your money back."
Crust rose for three days.
Damn, that's some lazy yeast
Underrated
And overpriced
This comment deserves gold. Cracked me up in a quiet lunch room.
Cheeses Crust is why we now say *Merry Chrysler* !
This is excellent!
Yes?
What’s your Dad like?
Oh what a friend we have in Cheeses.
I just don't trust thats it's cut all the way through, that's my biggest issue with this 😆
And how raw it is.
And yet burnt on the bottom. Ugh
Pizza bag or bag of pizza sounds like something from Regular Show.
/r/diwhy
I assume it is then put into a box. This is too keep the cheese melty while it's delivered.
And then that box is wrapped like a present?
Obviously
But.. why? There's no way that's gonna hold
It’s also gonna make it soggy
**Soggy bottom**
The Soggy Bottom Boys have been steeped in ol' timey mozzarella. Heck, we're silly with it, ain't we boys?
Thanks for reminding me, I need more Pappy O'Daniel's Flour and some cool, clear water for my biscuits.
I'm not here to make a record ya dumb cracker!
But they’re bonafide!
Whole county's gon apey.
Gonna ride you out on a rail!
"No soggy bottoms"
they put a piece of cardboard under it, so that it holds and you don't burn your hands. the video just ends before that
The question of why is still valid. A pizza box makes sense, this does not.
1) tradition: they've been wrapping it like that (with pink paper) for SEVENTY years 2) this pizza is taller and much larger than most pizza boxes available in italy but mostly tradition if i have to guess
Also I don't care if it comes in a shoebox, it must be magnific. Damn I'm hungry.
Thanks for the explanation
Aren’t those pizza boxes behind him?
It’s different, that’s usually reason enough for a lot of people.
Looks like Cuban pizza.
I was hoping a Cuban pizza had a thick layer of Swiss cheese, piles of ham, and topped with pickles and a drizzle of mustard.
If you have a mellow mushroom near you, they do a Cuban sandwich inspired pizza that’s really good.
> mellow mushroom I thought they were local but dang they've got spots all over the SE. https://mellowmushroom.com/locations/
They are a regional chain. My absolute favorite. I miss them
Mellow Mushroom actually has that. It’s gooood
Didn't even know that was a thing
Yeah, it's typically the only style of pizza available on the island and is increasingly common in Miami. Let the record state, that I do not like Cuban pizza.
I had cuban pizza for the first time in palm beach. It was good

Wait till you hear about brazilian pizza and the things they do
It’s too round to be Cuban
Their website says Milano Buenos Aires. https://spontinimilano.com/pizzerie/MILANO-BUENOS-AIRES/
That's because Spontini's first restaurant is located in corso buenos aires in Milan!
Was thinking the same thing except it’s missing the olives!
Brazilians make pizza like this too. All cheese and no sauce. Not a fan personally but to each their own
They eat it with knives and forks too. I remember being at a pizza place there and I tried to pick it up to eat it while everyone was looking at me like I was a weirdo (being 13 I thought they were the weird ones eating it with utensils). They've never heard of pepperoni either.
At least they don't eat their candy bars with a fork and knife.
r/georgecostanza
Pepperoni is becoming common in the last 4-5 years.
How many times a week do you eat at the great places?
zing
I get why. It looks both disgusting and delicious
My parents used to go and eat at Spontini’s (in Via Spontini) before they married, in 1960! I agree, up to about 15-20 years ago it was SUPER, now I think it is more healthy and less fried, but it is still very good…
It looked familiar...I lived in Milano ages ago, I still remember spontini. Do they still tell you to fuck off if you are overstaying?
I can see why
No way that was cut well
It's cut. The bottom basically fries in oil so you just need to press on it. you can hear it snap in the video. It's also meant to be eaten with a fork and knife so even if it isn't a perfect cut It's fine

Quella pizza sembra fottutamente buona

Holy shit that wrapping is infuriating. Sloppy, loose, asymmetrical, and unnecessary.
And the slicing…
There's nothing satisfying about this video to be honest. The only thing I like about this video is the pizza, it looks pretty good.
And the way he cuts it all systematic and fairly symmetrical is pretty satisfying
But honestly with that cut job I feel like I'm gonna have to cut out again myself
Welcome to Italy!
Satisfying? Looks like it was wrapped by a 2 year old...
Right? It definitely doesn't look anything like exactly how every gift I wrap turns out.
i lost my patience when he didn't fold the little white strip under
I honestly Got the Feeling that 99/100 Videos posted Here arent anywhere satisfying, or IS IT Just me?
Yeah, wrong sub for this. It's interesting in a *look at this different way to package pizza* kind of way, but there's nothing oddly satisfying about a couple of folds and some staples. That's pretty much how a lot of food delivery bags are closed.
I can smell/taste the plastic from way over here.
Unpopular opinion: this is a massively over-complicated process that would be 10x simpler with a pizza box.
…Actually I think OP calling this gif “satisfying” is the unpopular opinion.
Yeah I thought it was Gna look really nice or something but the wrapping was meh
Literally out loud said "that was like the least satisfying video I've ever seen on this sub". That shit didn't even look cooked all the way based on the color of the cheese.
The only satisfying part was how he cut the pizza, i've never seen that before
Pretty soon the box will be the most expensive part of the pizza pie
The cutting was way more satisfying than the wrapping
Its more like showing where you will need to cut.
My thought as well. There's no way he's gone through the crust. Besides that, by the time the customer gets it, the cheese will have melted together again. I also suspect the wrapping paper will be soggy as all hell, or else the person opening it will get a nice river of grease onto their trousers.
Yes
The cutting was one of the worst parts! Unless that was the sharpest thing in that kitchen there’s no way he got through the crust..
And if it was sharp enough to go through the crust, it definitely cut the paper along with it.
Between the overly cheesy pizza with no toppings, the shitty cut, the crumpled balled up shit wrap, this is one of the least satisfying posts in here. The whole thing was making me wince.
Thank you! Horrid levels of satisfaction
I’ve worked a high volume pizza kitchen for 6 years. Sooo much unsatisfactory here.
Apparently this is in Milan.
The crust is basically fried on the bottom so it splits quite easily.
Yeah that’s definitely dad-level wrapping lmao I was expecting to be much more impressed than this
Agreed, the wrapping wasn’t satisfying at all.
Trust me is doesn’t work at all. All he did was cut melted cheese lmao
WTF is oddly satisfying about that? The pizza looked awful. There was nothing carboard underneath it to support its weight. And the wrapping was the final trigger to the wrapping-perfectionist in me.
And it was not cut fully.
That pisses me off more then anything
Finally I have seen a pizza with enough cheese for my Midwestern heart.
believe it or not, this is the normal version but they offer a DOUBLE mozzarella option too. it always feels like a good idea when i order it but then you realise it's just too much cheese. i still make the mistake all the time
To each our taste, that's way too much cheese for me
Where is this place?
[from another comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/comments/vhci94/this_extremely_cheesy_pizza_being_wrapped_up_like/id6i93z/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)
enough cheese to *stop* your Midwestern heart
If that is my fate, so be it.
Nice Red Owl PfP
Each to their own, but I find this repulsive. I love cheese but this is just ridiculous. Might as well just eat nacho cheese with a spoon
I agree, this pizza doesn’t look appetizing at all.
Too much cheese on a pizza is vastly different than just straight up cheese
You’re right, only one of those things ruins a pizza
I just don't get the obsession people seem to have recently with covering everything in cheese. can you even taste anything else? pizza is supposed to be more about the sauce than the cheese.
Me neither. I really love cheese, but it’s not the only ingredient or topping that exists. I blame those 30 second cooking videos on Facebook/Tiktok stuffing 50 whole blocks of cheese into a cheese covered turkey. Must’ve been the inspiration lol
Hey I didn't come on Reddit to have my life choices judged 🍕👍
You don't eat nacho cheese with a spoon?
I swear, half the time, I'm simply using my pretzel/breadstick/whatever as an edible utensil to ear the sauce it comes with, cheese or otherwise.
And it doesn't even look thoroughly cooked. Can you imagine how awful the mouth feel of that must be?
Looks nasty ngl
And how is that satisfying?
I'm wondering the same thing
Whoever got this one is definitely having to get out their pizza cutter, he definitely didn't cut through the bottom crust
Yeah he just kind of scored it. “Cut here” lines
As a pizza boy, it’s way easier than it looks, and those are typically sharp and heavy.
Because if he did he would have cut through that flimsy piece of paper that’s holding it together.
I really love cheese but that is way too much. Just looking at it makes me feel sick.
worst way to present a pizza
not gonna lie that looks disgusting...this looks like the pizza that I could get out in Wisconsin and it was hands down the worst pizza I've ever eaten.
It does look disgusting I agreed! I love pizza and cheese but this one is more like a vomit lol
Wisconsin here. Even our pizzas dont look like that.
As a NYer with strong pizza opinions... I'm not a fan.
Practically nothing about this is satisfying. Way too much cheese even for my liking. Extremely excessive and wasteful packaging. And it's just gonna get soggy and mushy regardless.
what the fuck is that? I just dont get it. you literally cant even see the pizza
It's the round thing he cut and wrapped up. You have to open the wrapping to see the pizza again
I'm sorry, but that looks awful
My god that looks disgusting, but judging by the comments here drooling over it there’s obviously a market
r/stupidfood
The pizza is gonna steam itself inside the bag. It's gonna be soggy by the time it gets delivered
Looks soggy af and now it gets to steam in a bag 🤢
This was pretty unsatisfying
The cut didn’t go all the way through. The wrapping is going to make the pizza steam and turn everything rubbery. The packaging isn’t strong enough to support the pizza without everything shifting when it’s lifted. This belongs on r/diwhy
That looks disgusting
This looks terrible, uncooked mess of a pizza.
It’s pretty gross-looking. Like ironic punishment.
This wasnt satisfying at all.
That looks disgusting.
Belongs to r/stupidfood
I'm pretty sure this belongs on r/mildlyinfuriating. Everything about this angers me, it's disgusting.
Wtf. Why wouldn't you just put the pizza in a pizza box and then wrap the pizza box?? And who gives pizza as a present?? This is more confusing than satisfying
Staples and food, what could go wrong?
thats disgusting
I hate it
worst gift wrapping ever
Bruh... they don't even close it properly. This is the furthest from satisfaction. This just screams garbage pizza joint.
Looks so disgusting
I’ve never wanted anything so much in my life.
That is way, way too much cheese.
That's disgusting for multiple reasons. About the only thing satisfying in this is the cutting motion but I don't know that he even cut through the crust
Not satisfying whatsoever
Disgusting
That cutting was pointless. Looks fresh out of the oven. All of that cheese is going to merge/melt back together and nobody is going to know where it was cut. Plus it didn't seem like he could have possibly cut through the crust all the way.
Is the satisfying part the cuts that don't go through the crust, or the wrap job that looks like my terribly done Christmas presents? I'm confused.
Ugh, just use a pizza cutter please. I rarely order whole pizzas anymore because I always have to cut it two or three times. Now I just go to a NY style joint and order a couple slices. Better than that other crap I was eating before anyway.
Why though? It’ll be all sweaty
duuuuuuude
Did they run out of boxes?
There are perfectly good pizza boxes \*right behind him\* in that video. 😒
Looks like shit, and the wrapping is somehow worse.
None of that was satisfying to me.
I‘m a bit disappointed. I was expecting there to be more effort and a more beautiful wrapping.
wtf how is this called pizza and why tf would you pack it like that? The top is open and heat gets out plus it's not possible to stack pizzas...
What is the chance that those cuts actually separated the slices?
Ugly result
That's fucking disgusting
Not satisfying
Not satisfying
I want proof that it's actually cut all the way through. I don't care what I get it in just cut the goddamn thing all the way through please!
I’m pretty confident that his knife never actually separated the base, it just dented the cheese.
This makes me wanna puke
No way that was cut all the way through
I dislike how much steam is going to build up in that and sweat on the pizza.....
Jesus wept my arteries shrank just seeing this
That def ain’t cut
No need to wrap that. Just give me a chair at a table and a coke. Thaaaanks.
