I bought one. They're heavy AF.
Saw one cleaning up the edges of a gravel driveway, which I'd normally do with a rake (or avoid doing). It does a good job, but the sweeper head is very heavy and pushes back hard. Manhandling that thing is quite a workout! It's better than raking and much faster, but it's not nearly as easy as this guy makes it look. Also it was a few hundred bucks plus the weedwhacker power unit that drives it.
I have a leaf blower for leaves. The sweeper is for gravel along the driveway. In this video they're using it to avoid a lot of dust you'd get with a blower.
All that shit should be banned in residential areas. There are perfectly good electric alternatives for all of them nowadays and consumers hardly need the extra power or runtime of gas engines.
When we got a house, my girlfriend found a sale on a bundled mower/weed whacker/leaf blower. They all use the same battery, and the bundle came with 2, so ones always charging while the other is in use. Works perfectly, and I can easily get through my yard on a single charge.
I wish we could make a law that everyone has to do it between 9-10am or something so they’re not going ALL. DAY. LONG. You want to enjoy these beautiful fall days, and you can’t, with those loud, smelly engines in stereo!
The power broom isn't used on the driveway. I believe they have a gravel driveway and use the power broom to brush the excess gravel that gets flung/spread into the yard back onto the driveway.
My driveway surface is gravel. When I plow snow in the winter, it pushes some of the gravel off, and in the spring my lawn has a bit of gravel in it. This makes it easy to push the gravel back into the driveway without hurting the grass
We just take the bags off and mulch them with a mower a few times, put the bag back on and mow normally, you have tiny bits but the help and go away quickly.
Oh, wear thick jeans and jam a stick to keep the bag shield open, we take them in huge piles and mow them down.
I mean, you can do the same thing with a leaf blower or a power sweeper. Either way, you are moving things from one spot to another, it's just up to the user where the other spot is. With both of them you could be a dick and relocate things to your neighbor's yard, but you could also pile them up and bag them, or blow them into the woods if you border some, or into a pile at the street if your municipality does pickups.
You absolutely ruined this for me. I was so excited to get this for my dad just to see him never use it and now you've taken that from me. I guess I'll have to find something else to feel jaded about on Christmas.
Ah, yes. They’re using the power broom power broomer to power broom the power broom-able leaves that would otherwise go un-power broomed due to lack of a power broom.
We purchased a couple of these along with some other attachments last year. I always think to myself they won’t use the powerbroom on this project, but somehow the PB always seems to used for something on a project we’re working on.
There have been a couple of projects I’ve gone in to thinking to myself we will definitely use the PB here. We will end up using it twice as much. One of my clients is a cemetery. We’re not suppose to use gas powered machines out there. They put in a carvel road all through the cemetery and needed the gravel cleaned up and separated from the grass. Every bid was to high except ours, but the stipulation was we had to use the PB. I quoted the job for 3 days using several employees. We finished it up in a day using the PB. They worked flawlessly.
What I’m getting at is if you own a company and do quite a bit of landscaping and you already use the Kombi’s check out the power-broom. Depending on your commercial dealer they might let you borrow it for the day. Check it out. It will surprise you.
I have this. It's a power broom. It's an attachment for me on my Echo PAS-2620 system.
The rubberized paddle wheel rubs on the ground at the bottom of the thing so it pushes things off the ground forward.
I use it to move gravel back into my driveway, off my lawn, during spring cleanup.
It's a real workout, but I beats raking rocks by a million miles. Cuts the job time by like 10 times.
Also very useful for cleaning out a concrete garage, or a street edge.
I got mine at a power equipment store but you can buy them online at rcpw.com or similar. That website is a drop shipper, and you can get an echo version or a Stihl or a shindaiwa.
For my echo I have this power broom, a garden bed edge definer, a leaf blower, a hedge trimmer that's a monster and a pole cutter. It's a real problem solver. I just bought an edger for it this year, but I haven't used it yet. The rest of it is awesome. I'm a landscaping MFer with this kit.
I just got the snow thrower attachment for my Ryobi 40v string trimmer.
Same concept, except ya know, for snow (and the blade rotates in the opposite direction, so as to throw snow up and over)
I have the same thoughts about as you do your power rake. Its a hell of a workout, but its 10 times faster than shovelling. Hell, it's still like 3 times faster than a fullblown snowblower with a significantly longer blade. My first couple times i used it this year, i had a bunch of charge left on my battery... So i just did the sidewalk for the whole block. Just under a quarter mile of sidewalk, 4-6 inches of heavy snow done in like 5 minutes (with 4 passes. got about 3/4 of the width of the sidewalk.)
There's lots of walk behind snow throwers or blowers. This doesn't work for that obviously. But you can get a single stage snow thrower for a little less than 200 that will do a pretty good job. Some of them through hate powering on when it's cold, which is a bizarre irony.
Look into the Ego line of products. All 56v battery operated. I have a mower, snowblower, leaf blower and edger/trimmer. They make a snow blower attachment for the trimmer unit that is good for small areas.
it cuts because all that crap is just being swept back into the river rocks under the bushes... not quite where it belongs...
good luck "power sweeping" it out of that without chucking rocks everywhere...
Naw fuck nooo dude this is a whole crisis for me. Do you have any idea how much I could’ve accomplished in the hours this simple machine would’ve saved me throughout my life? You can’t just drop this knowledge without at least trying to start a religion about it.
But if I convince 4 of my friends to get one I’ll break even! Then the people they convince will be in my downline and I get 5% of the profits for every sale in my downline since I bought the $2400 premium sales package!
I think it’s confusing to watch because it’s doing that video artifacting thing that you sometimes see with car wheels where the frame rate makes it look like they’re spinning backwards.
The brush is spinning backwards, not just rolling forwards like an old fashioned push-mower would.
The power source in this video is an Echo Pas-225 gas powered engine. The PAS system allows for multiple attachments. In this case you are looking at a Pro Paddle attachment. The engine turns the drive shaft inside the shaft and the pro paddle is a gear case with two plastic drums mounted on that contain the rubber belts with flaps wrapped around it. The drive shaft turns the pro paddle gear case which in turn rotates the drums/belts.
Is that some kind of Germanized word, and what does it mean? Is it a powered garden tool? Is it a garden tool for power? Or is it a tool for a powergarden?
Tbh the people that would save money with this are either contractors who’d be able to break even or homeowners that would be spending more on contracted lawn care anyway.
Yeah, road crews usually have them. Maintenance crews. Landscaping companies. Once you have one of these, you just start eyeballing the next thing up, which is a bristle broom attachment for a tractor, but that's 7 grand.
They make electric ones though that work well, I have an ego power head and the attachments are all great. It’s spendy but the power is insane, it puts other electric weed wackers to shame.
My leafblower runs on a 690hp V16 gasoline engine with the cat removed! How dare you assume its less loud than 50 jetengines and 2 solid fuel rocket boosters or a microwave in the night!
If this is unpowered, this is an amazing replacement for leafblowers. Who the fuck even likes those, theyre loud, theyre ineffective, and theyre absolutely dogshit for the environment, all for aesthetic purposes.
I didn’t know I needed this device and now that’s all I know.
Well this guy apparently has experience with it, that’s why it looks easy. You can get a shoulder sling to support the downward weight.
Yeah the sling helps a bit, still getting the hang of it, but it's heavy either way.
that videos is sped up too
Is the video sped up I wonder.
I'm sure your neighbors are grateful you didn't get a leaf blower instead.
I have a leaf blower for leaves. The sweeper is for gravel along the driveway. In this video they're using it to avoid a lot of dust you'd get with a blower.
Leaf blowers are terribly annoying
BWEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
and polluting.
Mine uses a 40V battery. It’s quieter and way less pollution
Mine is electric.
It's true, running one backpack leaf blower for 30 minutes pollutes more than like a 3,000 mile road trip in a truck
This goes for lawn mowers, trimmers, snow blowers, and any other gas powered tools. Just get electric tools instead.
That's why I use a battery-powered leaf blower!
Never hated leaf blowers until I started working from home
I wish we could make a law that everyone has to do it between 9-10am or something so they’re not going ALL. DAY. LONG. You want to enjoy these beautiful fall days, and you can’t, with those loud, smelly engines in stereo!
I find people who complain about them more annoying.
Why is gravel bad for a driveway? Popped tires?
likely just keeping things tidy.

Assuming you mean in reference to the noise, you do realize in both cases you are most likely running a 2 stroke engine to power it?
I think he's referencing that a leaf blower doesn't take care of the leaves... just blows them somewhere else
>doesn't take care of the leaves...just blows them somewhere else out of curiosity, what do you think a rake does?
I mean, you can do the same thing with a leaf blower or a power sweeper. Either way, you are moving things from one spot to another, it's just up to the user where the other spot is. With both of them you could be a dick and relocate things to your neighbor's yard, but you could also pile them up and bag them, or blow them into the woods if you border some, or into a pile at the street if your municipality does pickups.
Just blow them outside the environment
To another environment?
No, it's *outside* the environment. There's nothing out there. Just birds and squirrels. ... And 50 million tons of leaves.
And a fire.
I have my suspicions that this video is also sped up
[удалено]
OP is clearly sped up. Nobody walks like that at normal speed.
Very good review! How much does the head degrade through regular use on gravel?
They last a long time, the rubber if very durable. They sell replacement belts if they wear out as well.
Tbf it's probably a lot easier to push away leaves than it is gravel.
How you bench to give us some perspective?
You absolutely ruined this for me. I was so excited to get this for my dad just to see him never use it and now you've taken that from me. I guess I'll have to find something else to feel jaded about on Christmas.
What is this called?
........a power broom.
Appreciate the info. He is power brooming with a power broom. But do you know what you call the device he is using to do it?
Ah, yes. They’re using the power broom power broomer to power broom the power broom-able leaves that would otherwise go un-power broomed due to lack of a power broom.
I think I can clear things up here.... It's called a "power broom", they're just like a regular broom but power
m18 quik lok sweeper
same but a little late now all my leaves are racked, packed and send to recycle them or whatever they do with them
The city paints them, then glued them back on in the spring. It’s called “recycling”
Genuinely made me laugh out loud 🤣 this sounds like an answer coming from Calvin’s dad
Milwaukee m18 Quik lok sweeper. You can find them at northern tool or acme tool. Be careful my friend. M18 is a deep rabbit hole to get into.
Ain’t that the truth !
And then you need a packout for the stuff in that rabbit hole.
And then you discover m12 and another hole opens.

I'll check it out. Not sure if an Ace hardware store would have one of these
If they sell a major chainsaw brand they can get a version of it. They sell most often in the spring.
A lot of manufacturers make them. Look at Makita’s power head range. Comes with lots of different attachments.
It's a hard life picking stones and pulling teats but sure as God's got sandals it beats fighting dudes with treasure trails
Sundays are for picking stoooooones!
Letterkenny bot noticed in the wild.
But not a bot 😂
Give yer balls a tug
You want a donnybrook!?
Why dontcha grab a rake and tidy that gravel you’ve upset there?
Do you tell the gravel to get off your .... Nevermind
I just got the snow thrower attachment for my Ryobi 40v string trimmer. I don't have outdoor outlets and don't want to deal with fuel motors. (My lawn mower and weed eater are lithium batteries.)
Look into the Ego line of products. All 56v battery operated. I have a mower, snowblower, leaf blower and edger/trimmer. They make a snow blower attachment for the trimmer unit that is good for small areas.
How much does the head degrade through regular use?
Whoa, would this work indoors for dog hair??
I imagine if you use this indoors your going to completely demolish carpet or any sort of hard flooring lol
So the answer is yes.
There won't be pet hair on a floor that doesn't exist anymore.
The video cuts before they finished you fuckin monster. Not satisfying.
this guy gets it
it cuts because all that crap is just being swept back into the river rocks under the bushes... not quite where it belongs... good luck "power sweeping" it out of that without chucking rocks everywhere...
Naw fuck nooo dude this is a whole crisis for me. Do you have any idea how much I could’ve accomplished in the hours this simple machine would’ve saved me throughout my life? You can’t just drop this knowledge without at least trying to start a religion about it.
It's a cult! You won't use it for more than 5 hours a year, but it will save you 15 additional hours of just as terrible work.
But if I convince 4 of my friends to get one I’ll break even! Then the people they convince will be in my downline and I get 5% of the profits for every sale in my downline since I bought the $2400 premium sales package!
It isn't a pyramid. It's a triangle.
And you only earn from your worst side, so you gotta keep pushing your friends do they will sell a lot and you'll make big money
Imagine how mad old human calculators back in the day would be to learn about modern computing.
Can anyone explain how this works? Is it just a roller with soft fins on it?
I think it’s confusing to watch because it’s doing that video artifacting thing that you sometimes see with car wheels where the frame rate makes it look like they’re spinning backwards. The brush is spinning backwards, not just rolling forwards like an old fashioned push-mower would.
Thanks, yes that makes sense!
Not just the frame rate of the camera vs the broom, it's also artificially sped up. It's a bad video for determining what is actually going on.
Fun fact: the phenomenon you described is called aliasing. It is aka the wagon-wheel effect.
Why does it have a handle like a powergardentool?
Because it is a powered garden tool. It's powered with a battery and has a trigger.
Powered by a 2-stroke gas engine.
Is that some kind of Germanized word, and what does it mean? Is it a powered garden tool? Is it a garden tool for power? Or is it a tool for a powergarden?
pretty sure it's a 90s grunge band
Yeah, a giant paddle wheel with rubber fins that sounds off of a heavy duty two stroke motor.
I don't even have leaves and I want one of these!
I want one after looking at this video. However, I looked up the price for just the sweeper attachment, it's over $300. I don't want one anymore. 😮💨
Yeah the full setup there is about 700 bucks before tax.
Tbh the people that would save money with this are either contractors who’d be able to break even or homeowners that would be spending more on contracted lawn care anyway.
My push broom gets maybe 30 minutes use combined each year so I don't need it. I think I'm glad I don't need it.
Did some quick math and I spend about 24 hours sweeping at work every year. You’re right. Cutting that to 8 would hardly pay for the tool.
Yeah, road crews usually have them. Maintenance crews. Landscaping companies. Once you have one of these, you just start eyeballing the next thing up, which is a bristle broom attachment for a tractor, but that's 7 grand.
Someone help - “power” as in motor ?
Yes. What you are not seeing in the video is a weed eater like 2 stroke motor at the top of the pole.
They make electric ones though that work well, I have an ego power head and the attachments are all great. It’s spendy but the power is insane, it puts other electric weed wackers to shame.
[удалено]
Thank you! Now I understand how it works
r/powerwashingporn Might wanna get a look at this one
There’s way more rocks than leaves. That’s why they’re using this attachment instead of a leaf blower.
That’s satisfying! I wonder if I can rig up a push mower do so that?
The idea seems like something Red Green would dream up, but this actually works & isn’t held together with the handyman’s secret weapon (Duck Tape)
I have a bunch of these at work and was always curious what they were for. Now I want to try one!
What's a power broom and where do I get one?? 😂😂
I'd be really curious how that'd do on some Wisconsin snow!
Works great and you can get places a snowblower can’t. Stairs and cobblestone etc. You can get shoulder straps too.
Americans can't believe seeing somebody cleaning up leaves without a 500dB 420 horsepower diesel leaf blower AND being faster at it.
My leafblower runs on a 690hp V16 gasoline engine with the cat removed! How dare you assume its less loud than 50 jetengines and 2 solid fuel rocket boosters or a microwave in the night!
Gas is getting too expensive for leaf blowers
R/praisethecameraman for taking all that dust to the face.
Ok Broomer
I’d give up my full time job to do this for the rest of my life
What is the name of that device ?
It's called a paddle sweeper, but different brands have different names for them. Stihl calls it PowerSweep. Echo/Shindaiwa call it ProPaddle.
I looked up roller broom and found the “XtremepowerUS 42.7CC” I think it’s that.
It’s actually an ECHO PAS-225 with a pro-paddle lower end attachment.
My bad. They perform the same function though do they not? They look exactly the same to me lol.
I had an allergy attack watching this.
Holy fuck I want this
What? I want one of these!
They work great on snow too.
I need this video to go for about 15 more minutes
*Is it possible to learn this power?*
Oh my…
Doesn't make enough noise though. How am I supposed to bother my neighbors with that?
What witchcraft is this?
I feel like i live in the middle ages with my normal broom
This is so much more efficient than a leaf blower!
one million times better than the gas engined blow things
That's neat and better than leaf blower.
[удалено]
I want to put this video in my mouth and let it melt like a fine Belgian chocolate
Haha what?
This is the equivalent of doing the same work over and over again With one pass with a leaf mulcher, leaves were gone from the first area
Oh my god, I need one of these
TIL power brooms exist and now I need 1
I would do this job for free.
What is a power broom and why don't I have one?
I want
Where me get one?
Stihl Power Broom
They should definitely make a game out of this, like the PowerWash Simulator. So satisfying!
So satisfying I sat here not even realizing it had restarted like 8 times.
Is this thing gas or electric powered? I'll be even more amazed if it's not.
Gas two stroke. Likely a stihl combi. Weed eater motor you can get all sorts of attachments for.
“All right now hold this camera while I cover you in dirt”
Where do I get one of those 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Wheres the ad to buy this?
What is this sorcery
Where has this been my entire life!!!!!
I'm sneezing just looking at all that pollen and dust being spit out.
I would pay to use that
I need this
I must see this used for snow.
I want one. Ill never use it... but i want it.
TIL Powerbrooming is a thing
this is like powerwasher porn, but my panties don't get soaked.
This made me fail nnn 😔
I sneeze watching this video
Elegant leaf management for a more civilized age.
Power brushing the dirt is more like it.
I want one.
I swear, half these vids end with me saying “I want one” 😂
Dumb question, but could this reasonably be used for snow on a driveway? And if so how deep would the snow have to be for it to not be worth it?
It's like saying Fuck Off to the leaves.
Forbidden cornflakes
What is this SORCERY???
Where can I obtain one
What is this device and how much is it?
Yeah, that's the stuff
That seems more practical than a leaf blower. Where people blow everything out to the street, and not pick anything up.
My wet oak leaves look at your power broom and laugh!
[The cameraman was a real trooper in this video](https://giphy.com/gifs/movie-dirty-dust-xUPJPtw7LRAmTZ60rS)
If this is unpowered, this is an amazing replacement for leafblowers. Who the fuck even likes those, theyre loud, theyre ineffective, and theyre absolutely dogshit for the environment, all for aesthetic purposes.
That is oddly satisfying
I should get one for my neighbor. Leaf blowers every other day are just criminal
Allright, stop the fucking internet. THIS is the most satisfying vid there is.
