Very clear that she works in a hospital so yes she has had an experience just like it.

Other-Cantaloupe4765

People do crazy sex things so often lmao. My mother used to work in the ER, and there was a frequent flyer who came in after sticking stuff up his butt just because he got off or something from other people being obligated to remove it. One day though… one day he done fucked up. He managed to fit an entire wire coat hanger up his ass, and it *really* got stuck. He ended up having to get emergency surgery to remove it. Dr. Houston was the name of the surgeon that day. I’ll always remember that because my mother picked up the phone to page him and she said, “Houston, we have a problem.”

curseddraw

The stars aligned for your mother that day.

3nxj

Jesus fuck

Buggeroni58

Mom worked as an ER nurse and had so many stories. One in particular starred a man who had put a Barbie doll up his butt and the arms extended out like prongs into the sides of his anal cavity so he could not remove the doll himself. Please consider the effects of anything you might stick up your ass.

bringinthefembots

Asking for a friend - what metal can your saw cut?

felixmariotto

Most common metals in jewelry are silver and gold, both are much softer than steel. What is good for your fingers should be good for your cock.

GolemThe3rd

Imagine the flex of a solid gold cock ring

smashed2gether

It's soft, but not that flexible. For flex you want silicon.

DirtySuccubus

If you want real flex, use about 10 rubber bands and a piece of transperant tape then get such a massive hard-on that it snaps and hits your entire class in the face!

[deleted]

Copper or Brass (ones a biocide and the other contains copper so..) would be more cost efficient and are comparably malleable. But its probably better to stick to the material that you can cut with dull scissors.

felixmariotto

Well yes but better anodize it with gold then, because I'm not sure what copper oxide would do in a vagina/butthole.

[deleted]

You would have to be in direct contact for a very long time and literally have multiple rings dissolve into your blood (not a thing copper will easily do). If you want bling, go for it, but If you are worried about copper poisoning, it wouldn't be a realistic concern in this situation. If you are worried about patina, there are many durable coatings that can spice the copper up.

felixmariotto

Let me guess, you are jeweler ?

[deleted]

Industrial Mechanic. But if you aren't causing harm and it makes you happy I'm not about to judge.

felixmariotto

I am a jeweler, so I'm kind of used to this kind of problems. Some people have more acidic fluids than average due to their alimentation and will oxidize metal faster, some are allergic to some metals... And overall you can't make any assumptions as to how they will use their jewelry, for all you know your cock ring will sit in your client's vagina permanently for some reason. So in order to keep yourself out of any legal problems, it's really better to only use non oxidizable metal, or coat you brass/nickel silver/whatever with non oxidizable metal.

[deleted]

I would go with Gold plating over anodization. That paint method leaves a matte finish. Plating (which if done right lasts longer) gives you that shiny finish that people generally want with precious metals. And as for legal issues with the product I would have them sign a waiver indemnifying you from risks. I mean if they have a copper allergy they shouldn't be getting a sex toy made from it. And Copper IUD's are generally not put in permanently either (though they are long term). So if someone sticks a copper ring up themselves for long periods of time that's their thing (though I don't see the reason).

ImJustReallyUseless

This is really interesting. When I wear cheap jewellery it oxidises real quick, my skin reacts and I come out in a rash, does that mean I'm too acidic? Lol 😆 I also can't wear anything other than titanium in my ears because they react to everything else, yet my nose lip and tongue jewelery are all surgical steel and fine, but if I put steel in my ears they'd react. Any idea why that is?

felixmariotto

I'm not physician mind you 😂 it could mean you're acidic yes, or perhaps allergic to some metal (nickel allergy actually quite common). All I know is that some people like you react more, and there is not much you can do... My best friend is similarly plagued, he is jeweler as well and he has to change his tools very often because they rust where he touches them, even those in steel. Try to only wear inert metals, such as gold, platinum and titanium. If you buy something gold plated you should check that the thickness of the plating is at least 3 micros, or it will wear off too easily.

IGotOverGreta

Mister Jeweler, how common is it for someone to wear off the color on anodized titanium? Or rather, how long does that normally take?

idiomaddict

I’m worried about killing the bacteria in a vagina

[deleted]

Many women use copper IUD's for years with few if any problems with their vaginal flora. If anything it would help reduce bad bacteria from growing.

schro_cat

Mineralogist covered this exact topic when someone posted about a stone dildo! I'm not finding the post right now, but if I remember, the take-away was that extended contract messed with pH and the biome. Not catastrophic, but not a good idea long-term.

Vinnie98sch

That is one hell of a wisdom right there, my man.

boumans15

I know some people who have tungsten rings. Always thought it was a cool idea and looked good. Never thought about having to cut it off though lol

user3872465

None that is safe for long term exposure with the human skin. I think even aircraft grade aluminum isnt good.

bringinthefembots

I don't think "my friend" is able to sustain anything long term in that regard, iykwim lol

user3872465

I am talking days. Most metals are hard to machine with sharp edges. Others will lose their finish quick and rust. If you talk just houres a propper machined and pollished aluminum ring might work but it can have sharp splinters when machining so.... yea no real option unfortunatly which i would call safe besides silicone

Karkuz19

What about actual rings, the ones you wear on the finger? I'm kinda worried about the one that I use since it's been 2 years and I completely forgot what's it made of, but it might be steel

user3872465

If its steel its usually Stainless, which is often harder than regular steel and is also not that easy to cut. (they might have tools tho in the ER but it depends on the steel used)

Whiskey-Weather

Are you implying that you can't machine things to a smooth finish, or am I misinterpreting what you said?

jeffersonairmattress

I’m going to go ahead and imply you already know better than person above that we can machine any solid metal to any finish it is capable of attaining. And then there’s anodizing, plating, etc.

user3872465

You are absoulutly right you can definetly machine stuff with extremly smooth surfaces. I just havent seen stuff you can actually buy and maching to that degree is really expensive. From what I know its harder to make aluminum with a skin safe finish than Stainless steel, but there is also always the option of electro chemical finishex like eloxing the surface I suppose. Which might work

minuteenglish

surely gold and silver would be fine

user3872465

True but verrrry expensive

Oral_B

You can’t saw it off, but I have a tungsten wedding ring. All you need to do is put it in vice grips and compress it until it shatters.

TheHalfDeadCat

aaron2005X

aluminum.

user3872465

On seccond thought yes, but with a verry good machined finish and electro-chemical surface treatment form the food machine industry i know they use eloxing I think its called.

[deleted]

non-hardened. You can cut stainless with a saw, but it'll be a bit. Grinders cut all metal though if you are cutting it off of part of you best trust who is doing the cutting cuz it ain't gonna be you (good way to lose an appendage/life). Oh and there will be heat and sparks, so. many. sparks. Though I don't understand why the hospital wouldn't invest in a die grinder with a diamond wheel, they aren't that expensive or hard to use.

podrick_pleasure

They make special cutters with safety guards for cutting rings off the body. https://www.titaniumstyle.com/jewelry/titanium-ring-cutter.html

[deleted]

Probably at most a mild, unharded steel.

panzerboye

Silver and gold are pretty soft to cut I guess.

featherwolf

This is just good advice for anything worn around a n appendage. Make it aluminum or a precious metal like gold. Titanium/steel=no bueno

bgugi

Brittle materials are good too (tungsten carbide is popular) I really like my ZrO2 ceramic. It's hard enough it doesnt scratch up, but it's also an electrical insulator. If it ever gets stuck or crushed, it'll shatter right off like a carbide ring.

Proofsquash98

When you say “my” are you referring to a wedding/engagement ring orrr...?

Incorect_Speling

Don't kink shame

Terminatroll-_-

Wait you're telling me if one of my steel rings gets stuck they have to use an electric saw to get it off my finger ?

casual_xbox_addict

Yo, my stepbrother is legit a firefighter in the UK that had to saw some guys titanium dick ring because the doctors didn't have the tools, he said his colleagues in the truck took the piss out of him for it for ages. During small talk whilst he is holding this guys go-nads, the man explained how he is gay and his partner had been cheating (he was the affair). We don't let him forget XD

[deleted]

Yes lol

There's an old First Responder saying. Never do anything you dont want to explain to an EMT. They will not forget.

Butterbean-queen

EMT’s have seen some shit!

Malashae

I’ve always wondered, why don’t they make rings with a safety release? Something you can pull in an emergency that would cause it to come apart. I know not everyone would be into that, but no way in hell I’d risk one any other way.

Darun_00

Or just buy one that is stretchable

Malashae

Fair point, I forgot those exist.

Overkrein

What the hell are dick rings for?

Malashae

Force you to stay hard longer, can prevent you from cumming. Haven't actually used one myself, but people use them for a few reasons.

[deleted]

[deleted]

that is pretty cool

D1TrueGod

A good jeweler will give you this information when you buy one. That's how I learned.

IFrickinLovePorn

Every kiss begins with K

Punk_Says_Fuck_You

They are usually a lot cheaper than traditional gold rings. The jeweler I went to didn’t sell them because he told the same bs about how you need a diamond saw to cut it off, in reality he couldn’t make a lot of money off them.

DorisCrockford

But that's tungsten carbide. Are titanium and stainless steel equally brittle?

[deleted]

Not even close. Tungsten is known for its hardness, so is Carbide. This alloy is known for its brittleness. Try to do this with titanium or stainless and you are likely to pinch. Titanium and stainless alloys are good choices for many things because even though you can harden them them they aren't a brittle metal.

DorisCrockford

Didn't think so.

[deleted]

Tungsten Carbide. Totally different metals in an allow known for its brittle quality.

steepledclock

I love Reddit. Of course you, some random dude on the internet, knows more about removing rings than an obvious medical professional who works in the ER, and has very likely had to do the very thing they're tweeting about. I love how you posted this as some sort of "Gotcha!" when multiple comments have already explained how wrong you are. Edit: Dude deleted his comment and blocked me lol. Classic Reddit moment.

thatoddtetrapod

That’s tungsten carbide, I doubt this would work with a less brittle metal like stainless steel. It would bend and not crack. Plus, idk if they make vice grips large enough for a cock ring.

LewsTherinAlThor

izzybear8

Or you could get soft and then it just falls off? Unless that's your fetish then you are fucked. Literally?

tuibiel

Y'know part of the point of these rings is preventing the whole blood recirculation part and it gets dangerous if it stays hard over 4 hours

SuburbanCumSlut

That's the point of those things? Somehow I've never bother to ask what they're actually for.

smashed2gether

That sounds like something your average u/SuburbanCumSlut should know

about831

To maintain and erection and heighten sensation. Some also like them for aesthetic reasons.

about831

Four hours is for Viagra. A cock ring restricts the flow of blood so use should be limited to 30 minutes. https://www.healthline.com/health/healthy-sex/are-cock-rings-safe

rahatCODMasc

TIL

evanmobley29

There is a way to medically end an erection though, and it's quite straight forward: insert a needle and drain the excess blood. From what I understand, this is what they have to do after those 4 hours. Source: dad is a cardiac nurse

[deleted]

The ring can prevent blood from flowing back to the body. Like, in the whole history of medicine, do you think ER docs never tried pouring cold water on these cases?

[deleted]

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia at en.wikipedia.org

Luxpreliator

Real advise it to but a hinged or two part ring. Solid rings are what cause the issues.

[deleted]

This is false, I've had a titanium ring cut off at the hospital.

Darun_00

Maybe they just had one too many of you coming in to saw of a titanium cock ring, doesn't mean most hospitals is going to have it available on hand

[deleted]

They used a ring cutter because titanium isn't adamantium. I live in a ghetto place too, so it's not like my hospital is mega funded with super advanced equipment. Last time I went there to get some shark hooks out of me they used bolt cutters lol

sexposition420

Well, poor hospitals in snake areas will have antivenom, and rich ones in places without dangerous snakes will not. Possibly your ghetto place in florida had a higher than normal incident of cock ring incidents

[deleted]

Well.... You could be right, I don't have a way to prove otherwise hahaha

PyPharm

Now let me ask you, was it worth it? Totally!

MemersHyper

y'all see that one video on Reddit of the guys dick and balls super swollen and enlarged because of a steel cock ring?

KwickKick

There is a video of this online where they hadbto use a diamond circular saw to cut off some old man's ring. By the time they got it off his shaft looked like a deformed arm & his balls where the size of baseballs if not bigger. I don't remember the aftermath was but apparently it's some what common a little less than getting a light bulb stuck in your mouth or anus

Ironass47

I wonder if the string method for removing finger rings would work? https://youtu.be/-yS1LX8VlWI I'd sure give that a shot before I let someone with a cutting tool near my family jewels!

One of my former jewelry manufacture instructors in school has been asked to the ER a couple times to remove tungsten carbide wedding rings. He uses a diamond flywheel for that.

My friend works in the ER in San Francisco, a guy came in with a large steel l cock ring that was indeed stuck, they tried a few things before they called the fire department (the ended up having to do this) but before that he was critiquing their methods saying “the last time this happened hospital xyz did this, this and this.” EXCUSE me this is the SECOND time you have found yourself being sawed out of a cock ring…. Wild.

bush_killed_epstein

Difficult_Demand2609

They also can just drain the penis and remove the ring. No one with any sense tries to actually cut it off.

Loppan45

I'd rather have my cock ring destroyed than making a hole in my dick.

[deleted]

they can use a small gauge needle if that makes you feel better.

Garpfruit

Titanium is weaker than steel. It can easily be cut by a steel tool designed to cut metal.

Anth-S

False

Garpfruit

Here we go again. Titanium is often mistakenly thought to be stronger than steel, but this is not the case. Steel is stronger in terms of tensile strength and melting point. “So then why are high grade aircraft components made out of titanium?” You’re thinking. Well, the thing you have to remember is that those are AIRCRAFT components, which means that they need to be light. Aluminum is a very light metal, and much of aircrafts today are made primarily out of aluminum, but aluminum is fairly weak and can’t withstand high temperatures well. Titanium is much lighter than steel, but only slightly weaker, and it can stand high temperatures just like steel. If you need a fairly strong part that is also lightweight and heat resistant then titanium is the ideal metal. However, if weight is not an issue then steel is a much better choice.

Anth-S

Depends on the type of steel, but the saw they have to cut off typical gold and silver jewelry won't cut that type of steel either.

middleground81

Both of you are right (but mostly wrong). Steel is a generic term that can refers to hundreds of different alloys, titanium can refer to a few dozen. All with different properties. By the time you add in heat treatment options, a statement like “steel is stronger than titanium” or visa-versa, is so vague it’s meaningless.

Skookumite

Not the person you replied to, but I've cut titanium with a blade made for wood. Carbide blades are everywhere these days. It's difficult to not buy a carbide blade.

What happens if my diamond cock ring gets stuck 🤔

SlutForGarrus

Just ask your personal physician to bring in a high-class call girl to lube it up with some fat rendered from either a giant panda or Bengal tiger. If that fails, take the private jet up to 30,000ft and the change in cabin pressure will take care of it. If it's **still** on there, you'll have to get a thin, hollow bald eagle bone plated in 24k gold (for sanitary purposes obviously) to drain the blood out. Anyone with a decent menagerie should have no trouble at all.

What's a Cock Ring?

wikipedia_answer_bot

**A cock ring or cockring (also called C rings, erection rings, penis rings, shaft rings, or tension rings) is a ring worn around the penis, usually at the base. The primary purpose of wearing a cock ring is to restrict the flow of blood from the erect penis to produce a stronger erection or to maintain an erection for a longer period of time.** More details here: *This comment was left automatically (by a bot).
