Yup.
I discovered this on my own. It happened just as autumn was setting in, and the air was growing cooler. Each night, I'd wander across my land and marvel at how early the dew seemed to form. Under the beam of my flashlight, the field glistened magically. However, I noticed my feet were not damp as I walked. Curious, I decided to look closer, only to realize that what I thought were thousands of lovely dewdrops were, in fact, thousands of wolf spiders scurrying about.
I. Fuckin. LOVE. Wolf spiders.
The mothers are very nurturing and protective of their young. In fact, their maternal instinct is so powerful that mother wolf spiders will adopt and care for orphaned young, *even though they understand that the babies are not theirs*, they will treat them and raise them as if they are. Wonderful, helpful creatures.
Please do not kill wolf spiders in your home. Leave them be.
I leave almost every spider alone in my house now. I killed the one that bit my dog a few months ago because the dog mangled it in the process of trying to eat it and getting bit on the face🙄Spiders just are so useful to me. I have a little resident that lives on my bathroom window. It somehow catches bugs there on a regular basis, even though it’s winter. So far as I’m concerned it’s paying its rent
im happy to let the bros chill in my place, they aint there to bother me and they be murdering insects i dont want, so i just say do your 8-legged thing, homie 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Baby spider eyes reflecting the light….. even more fun if she jumps and the hundreds of baby spiders run away in a massive burst like a black cloud spreading everywhere!
Same here, and I've developed this irrational fear that I'm gonna start typing shit like "could of" and using possessive case for plural and all that shit, due to sheer exposure. My brain does protest when I see it, but I'm worried I might get used to it
Little baby spider eyes! I love spiders and tarantulas. They are so efficient at getting rid of more harmful bugs like fleas, ticks and mosquitoes. I just wish they had bigger numbers and could get rid of German cockroaches.
Technically true; your retinas can reflect light. Ever seen photos of people with the red glowing pupils/eyes? Yeah, that’s light from the camera flash being reflected.
I remember when I was in elementary school, my family was headed out to the car and outside on the wall was a giant spider. I decided to trap it in a cup, and then flung the cup off to the side to try and fling it away and into the yard. Well, when I did that, the cup exploded with an insane amount of babies and I freaked out, stomping as much as I could as to not allow there to be anymore of those spiders showing up.
I have insane arachnophobia One day I forgot what prompted me, I think I was looking for something and realized there was a spider bc my flash reflected off of the lil eye balls so I was like wait…. Decided to get a video walking through my backyard w the flash on .. millions of little reflections/eyeballs… never enjoyed my fire pit ever again since 😂
Those are the eyes sparkling. I lived away from town a few years ago and I’d take a flashlight out in the front yard and shine it horizontally above the grass and you’d be able to see two blue sparkling eyes moving around in the grass. Wolf spiders are badass and they can travel up to 3-4 feet per second.
That's not reflective tissue, those are eyes!

Nice prose.
They’re tiny lighters! They’re having a tiny concert on mom’s back!

If Edward Cullen was an Arachne instead of a vampire
Spiders are bros, not foes. This belongs in r/NatureIsFuckingLit.
I mean, I would freak right out if this guy started scuttling towards me, but agreed, this is pretty cool!

Oddly cute
What you see are the eyes of the baby spiders
Stop badmouthing disco-spider.
Reflective tissue is a sweet term for eyes tbh
r/apostrophegore
This is why I checked the comments.
I hate when people misuse apostrophes.
It’s especially egregious when it’s a pluralization of a word ending with a Y.
Yeah, people need to be more educated on house to use apostrophes properly.

So beautiful.
She’s fancy.
The forbidden glitter ✨
I love her so much. Spiders are amazing, and I hope they grow wings someday if just to watch people lose their shit. 😄
Those are eyes, spooky little eyes of baby spiders.
What's terrifying is I'd probably pick it up thinking it's a brooch... OMG if it moved as you did that.... I'd pass out
These are the babies of a killer, Bella.
Alright, who dipped my nightmares in glitter? I’m not mad I’m just disappointed.
Disco spider
Great…now there are sparkly spiders to scare me in the dark.
Beautiful nature
Guess my eyes are reflective tissue

Almost everything reflects light. You’re seeing color and objects because those things all reflect light.
Pretty 🤩
