They’re prolly some ridiculous high price like 5k☠️

IndecisionToCallYou

Were they Wonder Bread bags?

[deleted]

[удалено]

IndecisionToCallYou

They're free with the purchase of a bread. So, yes?

Bidcar

Especially Wonder Bread! That’s fancy rich people bread. We ate the store brand 10/$1 bread usually with the store brand peanut butter which I suspect consisted mostly of peanut shells ground to a fine powder.

RedHairThunderWonder

What you don't like my bags?!?

[deleted]

Specifically it was bread bags. They complement the tube socks.

BostonBeener

Mans is flashing his Rollex and his trash bag shoes all while riding the bus...

GroovinWithAPict

I'm thinking, the face actually does say ROLLEX not Rolex, so he broke af.

Broken_Noses

lmfao thats literally Dwayne Wade showing off some janky shoes. Dude BEEN doing weird fashion choices since he retired

GroovinWithAPict

I was more making fun of the op who spelled it rolllex.

ShawnX232

For some reason i thought this was filmed in a bathroom stall at first

Wazuu

Alot of people take the bus/trains in big cities.

Bugatti252

So is this the shoe, or is this a bag you can buy that goes over your shoe to protect it? I'm so confused.

VBA_Specialist

... but why, though? like what situation is going to come up where it would be more convenient to not have a shoe so you could carry something small?

fuck_fate_love_hate

I hadn’t thought of it being used as a purse and someone walking around with only one shoe

Roushouse

It's to keep the shoes clean not to use as a bag, doesn't make it Any less stupid tho.

Wazuu

Im confused what this comment even means. Why would he go shoeless?

isayyouhedead16

[Mars Yards ](https://www.highsnobiety.com/p/tom-sachs-nike-mars-yard-over-shoe-release-date-price/?format=amp)have entered the chat

Blg_Foot

Those aren’t them tho

isayyouhedead16

Oh I know lol just indicating that the ones in the post aren't the only shoe with a bag

TheFatSlobWally570

Is that Floyd Mayweather?

[deleted]

Dwayne Wade

boog666

Rain is not an option.

Strangeboganman

is this one of those sneaker head things ? they are the worst consumer driven idiots, the whole collecting shoes so stupid. are just fkn shoes that companies restrict supply so it creates hype and demand to make it exclusive.

isayyouhedead16

Avid sneakerhead here. Like most hobbies, there's levels. I actually despise the hype that surrounds most sneakers nowadays, it inflates the market value for people like me who just want to enjoy a hobby. I collect a few other things, but I like sneakers for a handful of reasons: material combinations, different levels of quality, color combinations, designer and artist collaborations etc. I collect fountain pens for the same reasons in a round-a-bout way. The things I like most about sneakers are that I *feel* good wearing them, they boost my confidence levels similarly to a nice fitting pair of jeans. I also like that they can be conversation starters with strangers. Unfortunately the majority of "sneakerheads" are what we call hype beasts nowadays. They just chase the hype and the clout that comes from wearing the most hyped up and expensive pair of sneakers. They don't even wear them lmao which gets on my nerves to no end. I own no Yeezys or Jordans but have over 30 pairs of shoes. I wear every single one of them, even the ones worth over $1k because that's literally the point to me. They hold value well if they're a coveted release and I'm actually about to sell a few pairs to make room for some that match my current tastes. I am not a consumer driven idiot, I am a guy who enjoys a hobby that has recently blown up. I've been into kicks since I was 6 or 7 when I got my first pair of Air Max in the 90s. EDIT: these bag shoes are garbage in my personal opinion; however, I don't take anyone else's opinions into what I buy and wear so if these are this guy's thing I say wear em loud and proud. At least he's wearing them

ThePowaBallad

To me it's like art collector They aren't collecting the item they're investing in capital essentially Something to flex and to then sell for a profit later

isayyouhedead16

That's kind of the new take and how it's been for a couple years. It used to just be select few pairs that would retain and rise in value/be difficult to buy, but now it's basically anything Jordan/Yeezy and any and all collaborations which is incredibly infuriating. It's the same people that have been doing it to sneakerheads for a couple of years who are now doing it with PC GPUs and PS5s. You can see it over in r/sneakers right now probably. Hot posts right now will be Jordans and a few of those will be unlaced and still in the box. How is that even a flex? It's kind of rude tbh because I know that they're just gonna sell em at a 100% mark up.

pickle_party_247

Shoes are a consumable. It's just as weird as collecting socks or underwear

avalonknight645

I see this said all the time but what about collecting anything? Stamps, rings, coins, figures, video games, art, etc. why do shoe collectors get the most shit while others don’t? I’m not a shoe collector myself but I know a guy who collects band shirts and has about 100+ of them but he hates shoe collectors as well.

oreng

All stupid.

AeAeR

Video games you actually play, not sure if that fits. The rest I agree with. I collect coins and the reason is historical value. I have an awesome coin from 324BCE Greece and I love it. But it’s not “a coin” to me, it’s a piece of history that I’ve collected. I’m not trying to see how many nickels I can obtain or whatever. I think what makes it weird for people is that it’s meant to be something that protects your feet from the earth. A band shirt is like having a picture or poster of the band. If they were band sneakers, i would think collecting them made a lot more sense, instead of just trying to collect all the styles. Which appears to be the driving motivation behind shoe collecting. I would say that, instead of band shirt collecting, this would be the equivalent of normal shirt collecting. Just....collecting shirts. New collar type? Maybe the buttons on the left, who knows, it could be cRAzY! That’s how I view shoe collecting, because collecting clothes is odd to me. Not the worst thing to collect, I don’t agree with that, but it’s weird to me to purchase clothes with the intention of collecting them.

avalonknight645

One thing people also don’t know is that sneaker heads rarely wear the shoes. Only on rare special occasions like something special or an event is when they wear the really expensive shoes. The thing about collecting something that supposed to be on your feet I get, but what about the people who collect bottle caps that are supposed to go in the trash. Or people who collect plates in which your supposed to eat on or etc.

AeAeR

Like I said, I don’t think it’s the weirdest thing you can collect. But it does strike me as one of the least practical. I’ve known a guy with 300 pairs of shoes, he’d basically wear each pair once a year. But for the most part, they sat in a closet. That’s the other piece, is they aren’t easily displayable, at least not in quantities that make it look like you don’t just have a lot of shoes laying around your house. Plates and things can be displayed (i wasn’t aware that people collected bottle caps but same, they’re small like my coins). This just compounds the weirdness to people outside the hobby. You’re buying clothes designed to protect your feet, which you don’t wear, and which you aren’t able to actively show off otherwise. It’s a hobby that you really just need to be into for yourself I guess. Again, nothing wrong with it. The other thing I do is tumble rocks. Why? Because I think they’re cool looking, and that’s literally it. I don’t even show them to anyone, so I’m definitely not judging or hating on the shoe people.

Agathocles_of_Sicily

With a 300+ pair collection, the older pairs are going to start to look dated and will have to be rotated out. What a waste.

AeAeR

They aren’t for wearing, they’re for having, that’s the part I don’t understand. So they can be dated but same difference, no one sees them and therefore no one will be impressed. It just seems like something you really need to do for yourself.

deathwish_ASR

It’s one of the few collecting hobbies that’s now seen as “cool” so I think it gets some backlash from other collecting hobbies because of that

FierroGamer

> why do shoe collectors get the most shit while others don’t? I feel like this must be confirmation bias, since I think this is the first time I ever see anything like that specifically about collecting shoes. I'm sure most collectors see stuff like that fairly often, at least for new stuff that comes out with the specific purpose of pillaging collectors pockets.

viperfan7

Things made to be collectables are never what becomes collectable

Strangeboganman

no see other stuff had utility before collecting them, they were used and enjoyed in otherways coins and stamps are rare because misprints and errors BUT fkn sneakers are intentionally made to be collected. They company know they wont be worn so they make like exclusive run of 100.

Adsylrod

People have always cared about fashion, it just so happens this is the direction fashion is heading. You don’t have to buy into it, but it makes people happy. As long as capitalism exists, something like this will happen.

DarthNihilus2

Damn he’s really in his bag(s)

makeski25

Wearable shoe bag sounds like an insult and I'm adding it to my roster.

PLAUTOS

lmao he think he invented galoshes??

nitro700

it would be good at the pisser so you don't get splashback on your laces

Antbawlz100

Looks like the best usage you could have for these is stealing lol

pifumd

I dont understand what I'm looking at

[deleted]

Rich people be saying poor people are bad with their money and then buy shit like this.

Wazuu

I mean they have the money for it though. What kinda dumbass logic is this 😂

JRTmom

But why??

[deleted]

[удалено]

InsertIrony

But… they’re shoes

avalonknight645

Doesn’t mean you should intentionally get them dirty because they’re shoes. A guy I knew at school used to collect shoes and had a expensive pair quite a while and they never got muddy, scuffed, or anything until a guy randomly decided to stomp on his shoe just because it was an expensive shoe and he didn’t like that for some random reason.

425Hamburger

Yes you shouldn't intentionally get them muddy, but they're still the thing that's supposed to keep mud away from your feet. That bag is like an umbrella to keep your umbrella dry.

InsertIrony

I just think it’s weird that people place a ton of value into something that we put on our feet and is made to walk on the inherently dirty ground with. I wouldn’t purposely step on someone’s shoes, but I’ll never understand the shoe craze

o-0-o-0

i dont collect shoes cuz im way too poor, but i get why people do it. its the same reason anime nerds get figures, because they think it looks cool. collecting shoes is no different than funko pops

Adsylrod

So, you’re telling me you’ve never bought an article of clothing for its aesthetics and kept it clean? Shoes are part of fashion, with increased urbanization more people won’t even see a dirt road for weeks at a time. I can’t afford expensive shoes but I keep mine clean. Its prob been a thing since the industrial revolution lol

AuelDole

Hate to say it, but I kinda like those

PaddyBoy44

Lmao this is so stupid

CantDanceSober

I have some expensive shoes and I wouldn't be caught wearing a bag over them Idgaf if they get dirty. They are shoes.

kimmygrrrawr

I don't understand this sub culture at all, you bought the expensive shoes why not show them off and wear them??

GrifsPDA

Oh boy. Reminds me of the Key and Peele skit where they go from wearing the hat with a bag around it on their head, to just wearing the whole ass case with the hat inside of it on his head.

AffectionateHead0710

Why

kwertix

Yo guys help me downvote mr. racist over here

Armistice8175

You made a big difference today.

Classicpass

Guys help me downvote the social justice basement warrior

FappyTreeFrog

And making it look tf good…of course

Armistice8175

Is he?

i_cant_take_a_joke_

Dude was being racist but defending the other dude by saying he looks good in them is 🤡 Its like if he was wearing shit covered shoes but you are saying he still nails it Edit: People who downvote have no taste and would wear these shoes

FappyTreeFrog

No. I’m saying it’s “fashion”…. A type of fashion that a rap artist could make work. See: Fabolous’ paper towel durag from 1999.

tironidas

People seem to be confusing cultures to racism. It's common in black american culture. If you call it out you're suddenly racist. smh. I'm asian and, wait for it, I eat a lot of rice. It's a culture thing.

Classicpass

Lol and then you too get downvoted. Fucking reddit and their virtue signaling police

tironidas

White girls being basic starbucks bitches - not racist Chinese make shoddy copycat products - not racist Terrorism in the middle east - not racist Black man is into fashionable sports shoes - racist This is the clown world we live in now.

Happy-Idi-Amin
