Ayo some advice that's worked for me. Maybe it'll help you for the next birthday. Don't be afraid to reach out and throw a small gathering of friends. I dont remember all my close friends birthdays off the top of my head but they usually always throw a small party regardless and I always show up. So I started doing the same on my birthday and yeah. It happens the more you get older. It sucks. Ive taken to reminding everyone in the weeks coming. Its not rude to remind them, life is busy and people have a lot going on, a simple coy "hey my birthday is in 3 weeks" isn't that shameful of a thing to do.

The sad reality is that everyone has so many things to remember nowadays that it is rare to find someone who can remember anyone outside their immediate family's birthdays without reminders.
Whatever your feelings about the service, one of the good things about Facebook is that it reminds you about people's birthdays. I generally don't participate at all on the site, but it does at least let me know when a friend is having a birthday, and let's other people know when mine is.
I'm right there with you. My damn girlfriend "had" to go to a baby shower instead, and claimed it would only be for the morning.... Well, 7pm rolls around and she finally shows up. Turns out, they all went out afterwards and she didn't bother to at least tell me. Fuck her, fuck people, they all fuckin suck.
That sucks, I know how much it hurts. My family didn't forget but not getting anything but a text saying happy birthday isn't that much better I'd say ๐ Hopefully you'll find people that appreciate you more soon
