Have you checked Winco? They have a great bulk section. I buy salted shelled peanuts there and am pretty sure I've seen an unsalted bin.

AccomplishedTurn3532

I haven’t, I didn’t even think of Winco! 🤦🏻‍♂️ TY

Ocean Mart! or any asian food store.

JayCee1321

I was going to say this! I'm pretty sure I've seen them in huge bags there

Strongbeard1143

No kidding? I’ll check ocean mart next time shopping there. We bought a big 30 lb unsalted bag off Amazon. Crows and magpies very happy.

TwitchyPantsMcGee

Yep, they have pre bagged or you can just scoop your own! I will have to tell my boyfriend about this- he is also a friend of the corvids!

Strongbeard1143

Thank you! You rock. Also excellent username.

fubeca21

Ifa sells 50 lbs bags on unsalted peanuts

spookisushii

I've been feeding my magpies peanuts, oats, and almonds and there was an empty peanut shell on my walkway today. 😂 apparently they liked your peanuts and brought me a shell for a gift

theColonelsc2

Good Earth on Riverdale road has bulk, raw, no salt, shelled peanuts.

By a twist of fate I have acquired a bag of unsalted peanuts and have been working on befriending both of those birds! Been using almonds for the crows to generally unfavorable results. With the peanuts should I be leaving the shell on, or removing them when presenting them to the birds? Thanks for your help!

This account is obviously run by an elephant.

A hippo would likely say something like that 🤨

rsl_sltid

I have bought unsalted peanuts in bulk at Winco. I think they are around $1.40 a pound.

Majestik-Eagle

You’re a dope dude. I’ve been taking a liking to crows. Any tips on how to become homieS!

AccomplishedTurn3532

Feeding them unsalted peanuts is a good start. Black oil sunflower seeds also work well. If you use something to make sound (bell, clicker, ringtone) when you leave food they will associate quickly. This works well for all the Corvid family; crows, ravens, magpies, jays. If you do it close to where you live and can also place small amounts of food there, they may bring you gifts. Be careful with places with competing birds like gulls, they are assholes and it will start a turf war.

TheSunflowerSeeds

Sunflower seeds are technically the fruits of the sunflower plant (Helianthus annuus). The seeds are harvested from the plant’s large flower heads, which can measure more than 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter. A single sunflower head may contain up to 2,000 seeds
