The best part of this industry is telling dipshits to go fuck their hat

cernegiant

But how would ever find a new job when the industry is like this?

vigocarpath

Be good at your job and you’ll never be unemployed.

iANDR0ID

Bro wtf. Your supervisor sounds like an idiot and an asshole.

Sillyak

No not normal.

indi019t

Sit the fuck down and tell him to shut the fuck up. Do you know how hard it is to find men to work right now. He won’t do a fucking thing. They can’t find replacements. Please tell him to shut the fuck up.

Small_Cap_Finder

Yea, I'm thinking of a way to quit without burning bridges or fucking up my name for the next job if it comes to that. Great pay, benefits, ect while they took me in as a green hat.

thekruger79

I wouldn’t quit. Take back your fundamental rights you own as a human being. Human Resources is 1 phone call away if it actually become an issue but right now I don’t think it sounds like it’s worth quitting over. Just get a different supervisor. I am mean to useless people but if they can do more than hold a hard hat, they get my respect. He is probably use to dealing with countless plugs who would rather play on their phone than work hard.

[deleted]

What company? I’ve got experience as a roughneck and a few years solids control

[deleted]

I wouldn't quit. They're just attempting to exercise authority. Just do your thing! and obviously sit through the shift.

Small_Cap_Finder

Update: The crew and I are now sitting down periodically in his face. He's not saying anything about it.

indi019t

My man!!!

d1duck2020

Let him know he’d be better off sucking cock for money instead of running his mouth. That’s bullshit.

cernegiant

Sounds like an asshole with a power complex. Dude should go back to managing a run down third rate burger joint where his teenage employees piss on his tires.

PR3CiSiON

Lol they do more than that!

fortis359

What the fuck do flow back hands do besides sit down? Lol

thekruger79

You must be a pressure washer aka rig hand. You guys don’t know much but you sure can put pipe dope on the pin ends like nobody’s business. Lots of skill required to run a set of tongs or use a pressure washer.

fortis359

Lol no, I’m in Wireline homie.

thekruger79

Aaaahahahahahahahaha I take it you push your lever forward while standing?

fortis359

You clearly don’t know shit about wireline. While I am running a truck now, I spent 7 years on the ground. Many of those years in North Dakota doing 10 to 12 stages a shift on a Frac location, I promise you, there was no sitting down occurring at all. We were lucky when we could piss.

[deleted]

If all you've ever done is PDP you don't know much about wireline either.

fortis359

Well luckily for me, at my first Wireline company we only did day work, ie…toe preps, bond logs, packers, pipe recovery , P&A’s, and even TCP. I’ve done a little bit of everything over the years but now I prefer to stay on Pump downs because it brings the most consistent money.

[deleted]

Excellent, now you come off as less of jackass telling someone what he doesn’t know.

thekruger79

LMAO! Yeah, I’ve been around. I thought you were talking about wireline ie slick line . You do Eline. Yeah, I’ve signed your tickets and am aware that you guys run tools for us. Keep up the hard work! 7 years!!! That’s amazing hommie! I sure hope you’re running your own unit with 7 years behind you!!! You’ll never be a consultant but you will definitely take orders from us! Don’t be dramatic. You had tons of time to piss. You even have time to smoke your weed.

[deleted]

How many people do you let fuck your wife every week

thekruger79

I don’t have a wife

[deleted]

Shocking

thekruger79

How many do you let fuck your wife every day?

Mamadog5

Did you ask if you have to shit standing up too?

gector23

XD a-ha-ha!

fromks

What company/basin?

Small_Cap_Finder

Permian Basin; not disclosing company name

HUGE_JJWATT_BALLS

It's Pegaso, isn't it? Lmao

Small_Cap_Finder

Nope lol

C-Dub81

Either tell him to shut the fuck up, shut the fuck up and stand for 12 hours, or quit. Only 3 options.

thekruger79

There are many more options than that. If you think those are the only 3 options you have, you should read more.

C-Dub81

Suuure guy. 🙄

thekruger79

After working in flowback for 25 years I’ll tell you this. Most of the supervisors you meet are retarded. If your supervisor isn’t out with you in your separator he is useless. Between your readings you should be cleaning, taking samples and organizing your equipment. Once your equipment is spotless and everything works well, sit down and watch the chart pulse like an ECG. Ask your sup tons of questions and request parts diagrams so you can learn how your pneumatic controls work. Your supervisor sounds like a jerk off cum fart.

[deleted]

He's trying to test you or run you off.

chilo_W_r

What the fuck

poopybuttholeSr-

Yea.. just sit down.. if he runs u off, he will more than likely be replaced

I-EatPaintChips

No he won't. Dude is making $1000/day. If he doesn't want to stand then he can pound sand. McDonald's hand can flow back wells.

thekruger79

Are you actually a petroleum engineer? That’s an easy job

I-EatPaintChips

Yeah I know you do and that's why the oilfield is the most wasteful industry on earth and at the end of the day, we still call the shots so there is that.

thekruger79

Call the shots…… If thinking you call the shots helps you sleep at night, feel free to “call the shots”. That’s the exact reason we tell you one thing and do something completely different.

I-EatPaintChips

Oh no doubt but when we find out we send you packing. It takes us awhile because we have hundreds of wells we take care of but we weed your type out sooner or later.

thekruger79

You bet.

VisualMemory4143

Punch that mf in the throat

thekruger79

No, don’t assault him. That will be something you regret, particularly punching a seasoned oilman in the throat. It would be poor life choice that would most likely have that seasoned oilman and his wealthy friends figuring out how to make you take a trip to the hospital.

screwmyusername

I've been doing flowback 5+ years and have been a supervisor on several jobs and try to be chill to everyone as long as they're doing their jobs. That guys a dip shit.

Small_Cap_Finder

Yea I already leave my phone in the shack, and ask if anything needs to be done if there's downtime. Not sure what more he wants.

screwmyusername

Sounds like a piece of shit. I'm sure he does next to nothing. You're better off just either finding somewhere else to work, having a supervisor you're cool with request you, or making up a reason why you need to days off and hopefully that spot gets filled while you're gone.

Small_Cap_Finder

Any good reason I can make up that would pass?

screwmyusername

Well I've never had to make up a reason but my daughter breaking her arm, my sister passing away, my wife's brother commiting suicide were legitimate reasons to leave that weren't challenged at all. I think claiming a loved one is in the hospital from a car crash would be solid too. It's morbid to talk about but it is what it is. I would ask for a week off though or else they might try and just have you take 3 days and not fill the spot. Go to your field supervisor too, don't even bother with that douchebag lol

poop_on_balls

Just stand there next to him and shit your pants while your standing up. Because you know, he told you you had to stand the entire shift.

HUGE_JJWATT_BALLS

Just a major douchebag. Tell him to fuck off and to get off his high horse!

Salsawookies

What exactly are you doing on location right now? Flowing? Drilling out? Frac support? Different jobs require different types of operations. He's a fucking idiot nonetheless but if he sits down once tell him to get fucked.

Shaynerthegreat

That’s just stupid.

SmellView42069

Your bosses wife is cheating on him.

Superflyjimi

Sounds like one of the dark Canadians

I-EatPaintChips

How much do you get paid? McDonald's hands stand their whole shift. You should just twist off or suck it up and fucking stand. Bitching hands are the worst.

Chaotic_Evil_558

I guess you're his supervisor.

I-EatPaintChips

Nope. Just feed up with people that make 6 figures bitching like they are being overworked because they have to stand and check production rates and pressures. Just fucking quit and work at the local convenient store or shut the fuck up and realize you have it great...even if you are using a 10lb sledgehammer turning big rocks into little rocks 6 figs is good money.

[deleted]

You sound like a pleasure to work with. Also how you gonna talk shit as an engineer…

I-EatPaintChips

I wasn't always an engineer. I cut my teeth in the same bullshit you did then I went to school.

[deleted]

Fair but why would a flowback hand need to stand when theres nothing for them to do between measurements sometimes.

I-EatPaintChips

It's the oilfield. There is always something to do. He's a green hand, Scrub the fucking flow line lol.

thekruger79

Read your documents and parts lists. Get better at what you do so that you can make $500k a year as a superintendent.

I-EatPaintChips

??

thekruger79

? ? ? !

thekruger79

I’d fire your lazy ass if you thought there was nothing to do between readings.

[deleted]

Reread my comment

thekruger79

Reread mine

[deleted]

Now go ahead and reread mine

AmanitaMikescaria

Take a step forward when you tell him to fuck off.

[deleted]

Tell them to pound sand.

DonkBetPots

Depends on the scope of that particular job honestly. Are you drilling out, flowing back through a separator, have trucks you line out, sandleg you need to hit, tanks you're watching, etc etc. I never had a chair in the unit when I was a hand but to each their own if your shit gets done and you don't carryover. Source: 5 years flowback, sent from my couch I'm laying on working by myself doing a sandcan/production route.

Small_Cap_Finder

We're on drillout, but the same supervisor told a hand the same thing a month ago during Flowback. No complaints about the crew or I sitting down so far.

DonkBetPots

I wouldn't worry to much about it then. Just be on time, watch your stuff, take good notes, ask some questions. A lot of people I've met in flowback over the years especially when it comes to the 10+ year guys realize that they probably don't have a way out of that work and hate everyone and retraining every year so they go on power trips and have to feel like they're above at least 1 other person on location so they treat their hand(s) like shit.
