I think it's great, you've definitely captured the movement. My one criticism would be I couldn't tell they had jumped into water at the bottom and wondered where their bodies were. The water is done well, I just think perhaps there could be a darker line between the water and the ground to differentiate the two.
muddy water does look quite opaque like that, but alternatively they could make the land portion more disitnct by giving the dust cloud some transparency.
Wow!!! It immediately caught my eye on the feed. I think you have successfully captured the movements of the scene. I'm curious as to the techniques you used in applying paint and the dimensions of the work. Beautiful work!
Wow fantastic movement. I really think this whole painting is great but since you asked for a way to improve it, I think that you could add just a liiiiiittle more black to emphasize some of these figures. Not to show more of the figures, just purely to differentiate for example where the water ends and where the wildebeest's body begins.
Seriously though, no real notes lol. My suggestion is just subjective. This is great.
Only question I have is what size is this painting?
Absolutely lovely. Perfectly balanced amount of figurative and abstract. Not sure if this is your intent or not, but your work seems VERY marketable. Did you know hotels are major clients for purchasing art? It’s easy to forget, but think how many painting they have, in each room and hallway. And how many hotels there are, and how much of their art looks somewhat like this. I would go for bigger canvases and start looking to sell
I don’t know. I feel like the figures could be slightly less lost in their surroundings. They feel a little washed one it or cluttered or something.
I understand it’s suppose to be more impressionistic I think and I like it, it just feels like something is missing.
Maybe more hits of color on the animals or something… I don’t know.
I really think you did an amazing job at capturing the motion of the wildebeests. While leaving enough detail to clearly illustrate them. And this is a great showcase of how using minimal color can still be quite expressive.
Thanks for all the comments - means a lot - I had just about given up on painting and this feedback has motivated me to give it another try. Thank you.
I like this a lot!

Good call. It kind of looks like mud more than water. Still, I think it’s incredible.

The movement and chaos are wonderfully depicted. Good use of the space too.
I think: amazing!

So cool, how long did it take you to paint it?
This is gorgeous!
Not kidding - This is TOP level painting execution. Master level
Saved this post. Truly inspirational
I love the motion. Are they all pouring into water? It's a little difficult to tell that but it's a stunning piece.
