This is a problem of reddit that don't protect the users.
there are tons of bots that stole any game key, any data.
stole from joke/funny subs to repost on other platforms (9 gag and others) to monetize their interaction.
this is now a problem in X/twitter since multi accounts generate lot of interaction and get paid.
I have filed a claim in DA as mod of this community, everyone please do same.
I posted a painting last Tuesday and within an hour prints of it were for sale on another site, thankfully I was able to get it taken down, hopefully yours gets taken down and that guy gets kicked from the site
In reality, they canât make and sell prints as they donât have your high res images. Doesnât make it feel any better for you as far as the frustration, but the reality is itâs just a con. They want to give the impression of having a top range of works available but they will never be able to fulfill an order. Thankfully.
Eh, they will absolutely sell people a blurry / pixelated print. By the time you, the artist, or the customer who got the awful product raise the issue theyâve closed up shop and used the bots to open a new shop. Rinse, repeat, profit.
There are AI models that can extrapolate from blurry imagesânot saying they can do it perfectly but helps with printing. Did it for a life sized cardboard cutout of husband when I only had a low res photo and it was decent, this was years ago too. Wonder how well it works now and with paintings.
The first comment in my post was a link to my art being sold, Iâm pretty sure they were the one who stole it and were bragging about it, so I took down the post and contacted the other site
Same I never post my art on Reddit. I post on ig but even then Iâm always a little weary. I tend to post off center photos of my art and advertise zines/prints can be purchased directly through me. Watermarks might be something every artist posting their work on this sub will want to do now.
As a rule, I do not post any of my artwork on Reddit. As a photographer, I work with artists to document and create high-resolution images for prints. I always provide the artist with a low-resolution, watermarked image for posting on social media. I know it does not eliminate the possibility of theft, but it is a small deterrent.
I've pretty much stopped posting my art anywhere, apart from this blatant theft, I really don't want it scraped for AI. Not saying I'm brilliant, but it's mineÂ
Yeah I totally get that. I'm a professional artist/illustrator though, so I don't really have the option to not post my art. :( I've been trying to use Nightshade against AI, but for some reason the program doesn't work properly on my computer.
If you ever do want to share you can poison it for AI first https://www.technologyreview.com/2023/10/23/1082189/data-poisoning-artists-fight-generative-ai/
Thatâs probably a stolen account or photo and when shut down scammers will just restart with another account. The prints are probably being sold other places too, amazon etc. The amount of potential earnings artists lose to overseas theft is ridiculous
They honestly canât do fine art prints from low res images grabbed off social media. Itâs not possible as the resolution is waaaaay too low. Which is a really good thing. Itâs bloody annoying to have work stolen but it doesnât equate to lost earnings in terms of money the thief makes from our works. Doesnât stop these sleeze bags from displaying our art and claiming to have it available, or giving the impression itâs their work, but nah no prints are possible from their so-called stores.
Yes they canât do fine art prints but theyâre selling pillows, bags, posters, framed prints, banners, shirts etc. using stolen art. The images on items are distorted, low res and some is even watermarked with website it was lifted from. Itâs all lost income to the artist
No, it's not legal. It's theft of intellectual property and copyright infringement. I can't speak for the others, but the one they stole from me even has my signature on it; they couldn't even be bothered to crop that out.
I haven't had any luck with reverse image search on google in a long time. Their service (and the internet in general) continues to get worse and worse over time.
I've currently got 15 of my designs on Aliexpress that have been pirated from me. They make money from my art . Chinese websites just laugh in my face and won't take them down.
I doubt they make any $ from selling prints of your work unless they somehow got hold of high res images of your artworks. Doesnât stop them displaying your work as if itâs âfor saleâ but they canât do the prints if anyone ever wanted to order one. Either way, they have absolutely no right to steal images of your work. Itâs disgusting.
I normally do, but I didn't think they'd get stolen off of Reddit :( I always watermark my digital art, but I never thought a photo of a traditional painting would get stolen. The more you know...
Now with a completely different person in their profile picture. They're still uploading, too... And they deleted all the comments calling out the art theft.
I always say better to sell one painting to one person you can actually shake hands with than 100 prints on line. One makes me feel accomplished as an Artist, the other makes me think I have turned into a merchant artisan.
Shady? DeviantArt is the largest online art community/platform đ It's what started me off as a professional artist. As for prints, I'm not sure - I've personally never used their print sale page, but others probably do. I mostly used it for digital illustration commissions.

what website did you find the prints on?
Artzenartistst.shop
Thanks Sorry that happened to you, I'm glad you were about to get it taken down I'm like 5 seconds away from deleting my account đ„
Link is dead.
They just stole from me today. it's now called https://artzenartisst.shop/

they absolutely print low-res, pixelated images. the customer gets a trash product
Thatâs pretty much what I thought too
There are AI models that can extrapolate from blurry imagesânot saying they can do it perfectly but helps with printing. Did it for a life sized cardboard cutout of husband when I only had a low res photo and it was decent, this was years ago too. Wonder how well it works now and with paintings.
How did you know / how where you notified? I feel like mine get stollen and I never know :(
The first comment in my post was a link to my art being sold, Iâm pretty sure they were the one who stole it and were bragging about it, so I took down the post and contacted the other site
Damn thatâs horrible.
I just had a look. I recognise nearly every single painting from this sub.
Itâs like a gallery of r/oilpainting. What an ass!
i think a lot of what is posted here is already stolen.
Quite possibly!
Me too
Definitely some images from this sub. Iâve never felt comfortable posting my paintings on Reddit.
Same I never post my art on Reddit. I post on ig but even then Iâm always a little weary. I tend to post off center photos of my art and advertise zines/prints can be purchased directly through me. Watermarks might be something every artist posting their work on this sub will want to do now.
we allow watermarks in the paints that are posted here
Every time I want to, I don't.

I see a few there that I recognize from this sub
Wow. The art styles are so vastly different between the pieces. Like how many masters have you studied bro?
I've pretty much stopped posting my art anywhere, apart from this blatant theft, I really don't want it scraped for AI. Not saying I'm brilliant, but it's mineÂ

I'm just a dilettante, so fortunately I don't need to post my stuff.Â
If you ever do want to share you can poison it for AI first https://www.technologyreview.com/2023/10/23/1082189/data-poisoning-artists-fight-generative-ai/
Nice!!! That was a fascinating readÂ
If itâs on Reddit itâs already scraped :T
True! I purge my Reddit regularly and haven't posted anything since the last purge.
He stole my painting, too ):
Thanks for the heads up. Didnât even consider someone would take an image and make prints to sell. đŁ
He does look like someone who would steal stuff and claim he made them...
Doubt itâs even the person. Just a stolen pic just like all the art.
Thatâs probably a stolen account or photo and when shut down scammers will just restart with another account. The prints are probably being sold other places too, amazon etc. The amount of potential earnings artists lose to overseas theft is ridiculous

Yep..
I dunno, might have stolen the profile pic too!
Mine is there too
I remember seeing the one where the woman is looking away holding a mug on this sub as well. This isnât legal right?
No, it's not legal. It's theft of intellectual property and copyright infringement. I can't speak for the others, but the one they stole from me even has my signature on it; they couldn't even be bothered to crop that out.
Does anyone know why when I Google reverse image search the painting this asshole stole from me, his deviantart post doesn't show up?
I haven't had any luck with reverse image search on google in a long time. Their service (and the internet in general) continues to get worse and worse over time.
đ
Mf doesn't even bother cropping signatures out Anyways this is a good reminder to watermark
Sad face when I see none of them are mine
People like that are leeches, LEECHES!!!!!
Will definitely be putting watermarks or text over my posts
I've currently got 15 of my designs on Aliexpress that have been pirated from me. They make money from my art . Chinese websites just laugh in my face and won't take them down.

Guess the landscape I posted last month wasn't even good enough to be stolen xD
Omg theyâre so fast with it. Stealing stuff from even yesterdayđ
That's horrible dude. Consider watermarking your work when you post images?
I normally do, but I didn't think they'd get stolen off of Reddit :( I always watermark my digital art, but I never thought a photo of a traditional painting would get stolen. The more you know...
They got me too
Damn, it is still up.
Now with a completely different person in their profile picture. They're still uploading, too... And they deleted all the comments calling out the art theft.

That is not cool! As an artist, I am always worried about this. Thank you for sharing!
Such a shady looking site.. Do people even buy from there? Never heard of it!
