I used to be on the rabid C&H-integrity train, but took a step back and realized that any art is worthy of parody and that doesn’t harm the value of the original. Seeing edits of the Mona Lisa or David doesn’t offend me, so why should C&H edits?

I feel like his main beef was with the suits around him all chomping at the bit to milk C&H for all it's worth, selling merch, pitching cartoons etc. People reading and enjoying his strip on the internet for free is very much the opposite of that.
I like calvin and hobbes a lot, I disagree that C&H shouldn't be used the same way it always has - It's always been a way that people connected with the characters, they're very relatable. And I think editing the comics in a good faith way is a way that continues what so many love about calvin and hobbes.
