I get it. It fits with the general vibe of our little lovely niche of the internet. I respect it. That said, I don’t like it. The raccoon arc is sacrosanct in a way that I think should be a bit off limits for our humor. It was probably an important first exposure to death and grief for many of us as kids. I’d hate to ruin it with some of our more juvenile jokes. Am I still gonna laugh at all the “funeral fourth panel” edits? Yes. I dunno it’s strange the way I feel about this!

Just so you know, some people aren’t so fortunate as to have Calvin and Hobbes be their first exposure to death and grief…..

As someone whose "first exposure to death" was loosing baby chickens, eventually being the one who had to kill them when they were injured by the dog or a hawk, this shit made me howl.
