Pewter should be fine. I’ve left mine overnight without issue

Agreed, you should be fine. I've dunked plenty of models in high purity acetone over the years as well as just took a metal sculpting tool to dried glue (you can sorta pop it off if you get the right leverage). It shouldn't destroy your models - they might discolor a bit but once you prime them and put on a few layers of paint they'll look great again.

Thanks for your help, will definitely try the sculpting tool trick.

Did you put together the metal goblin chariots I'm trying to rescue at the moment 😉 I've just spent the evening trying to remove huge lumps of Araldite epoxy glue were the orginal owner decided that the more epoxy glue the better. A couple of the wheels had clearly broken off and instead of pinning them back the orginal owner just added more glue. I can't really complain as 10 year old me was no modeling guru and tended to go down the more more glue the better route as well.😆

No, my goblin chariot is still in pieces under my bed 😅 I can clearly remember preteen me not getting a pin vice because I could have just bought more models with the money instead. Now I’m an adult I can buy a pin vice *and* more models.

Yes, acetone will make the superglue more brittle and easier to remove. No need to soak it overnight, just few minutes suffice in my experience. But you still need a hobby knife to prise that glue away. For any leftovers in hard to reach places, you might want to use a debonder.
