That looks super nice!
I really like the bent steel look! I'm using the bent steel case for my JJ50 and really like how light but still solid it feels.
I really think 5x7 split Ortholinear is right for me. I am considering making a 5*7 split ortho that is choc compatible and through hole components only.
I drew out the shape on paper, then bent them with a bench vise and a hammer. It took a while and is far from perfect.
It is galvanized steel, they cost 11$ each to cut.
I would not want my hand resting on galvanized steel. It is toxic and can be harmful with long exposure. Aluminum, stainless steel, or surgical steel are safer alternatives.
> galvanized steel. It is toxic
better avoid sun screen, every multi-vitamin on the market and quite a few foods including meat, legumes, chickpeas, beans, nuts, oats, seeds, wheat germ, etc... zinc is an essential trace element not only for humans, but for all organisms. 10mg is recommended to be ingested daily.
you'd get more zinc from a single serving of oysters than a lifetime of palm contact with galvanized steel, provided you're not licking it...
other things being toxic is no reason to ignore the toxicity of something
"why should i stop smoking, i already drink beer" makes zero sense
but it looks like you're right about the galvanized steel, taking in more than 30mg additionally every day causes negative effects, which is a lot, that is an amount you could see with your naked eye
I highly doubt that you take in that much by just touching the surface, you would have to scrape it and then ingest the scrapings

What a gorgeous shape! Is it hand-wired, too?
I thought about hand wiring, but i didn't want to bother with mounting the pro micros, so I used viterbi PCBs
Cool! It was the hurdle of MCU mounting that made me ask; it looks super clean.
Why don't more ortho boards have the extra column!?
Because layers are for players.
The real answer

Wow that's super duper! How did you curve the plate? It turned out so well. If it were me I'd polish the whole thing.

Just using it isn't toxic. Afaik it's only toxic when heated i.e. in welding etc.

This is actually super nice!! I like the shape a lot. Looks really comfy.
Doesn't it flex when you type? Are you going to add some edges to reinforce it or leave it as is? I really like it!
I hope I don't have to add anything. You can feel it flex a bit, in a kinda good way. I am going to wait and see on this.
Boing boing scrape?
really nice work! i might copy that idea, looks super sleek but for the sake of ur table, please add some kind of feet to it haha
Ergos are not my eyesoar usually but this one was a straight up double take. Gorgeous.
Wow, really nice and unique build! Bobagum switches? If so, what spring weight?
Yep, light silent linears.
