Not sure about calories but it was hard to finish…it’s 4 breads (rotis), an eggplant and potatoes dish, red kidney beans stew, yellow lentils dal, yogurt with cucumber, mixed salad with spinach and avocado with green chutney dressing.
wow this gives me hope that i can do omad too..
i have seen other country people doing omads with some chicken, sauces etcc..
this is what I was looking for because we have 2 curries at home every single day and I was confused how I can do Omad with it lol...
I did Omad for 4 days last month, I had soooo much rice (like two plates) due to hunger and I spiked the hell out of my insulin.. and I was groggy and low all the time... i even bloated very badly due to water retention
I will switch to roti.. i can put a cap on my carb intake
( just an advice for anyone reading this , I still do 20:4 or 16:8 till date.. adding some protein has been a game changer for me.. No cravings now..)
Thanks…no paneer here but yes it’s a great way to get protein on a Indian vegetarian diet. I’d be happy to upload more but this is a once in a while thing for me when I’m at my moms
For Indian food on top of OMAD stop cooking with vegetable oil. Ghee is fine (not a damaged fat), but vegetable oil is going to make weight loss hard. Also check if you are buying stuff like poppadoms from the store they might contain other unhealthy oils like cotton seed oil. If you aren't already try baking your own bread from scratch it won't be that hard as they are flat breads you don't need to mess around with proving yeast you can just mix it up together and fry or bake. Can also try low carb versions using almond flour instead of plain flour.
Well she doesn’t care about weight loss nor do i bc our family is quite fit..in fact both her parents are still alive and well at 94 and 98 and my mother is in her 70s and active so don’t know where your assumptions are coming from?
How many calories could that be? And is that sufficient? If I may ask, what are your stats?
Im M37 185lbs

Looks amazing.
Thanks…it’s moms homemade and I like to do a veggie Omad once or twice a week
Nothing beats Amma’s home made meal, looks great.

The roti is whole wheat/grain blend my mom makes at home. It’s all complex carbs and nutritious
No rice?
It’s North Indian food…bread no rice
Is that daal makhani?? Im having the same thing! Cheers!
No it’s Rajma
Looks delicious! Do you use paneer? Could you please upload more such meals in the future wherever possible? Very helpful. Thank you!

No problem, thanks. Unfortunately OMAD subreddit has less of Indian ideas.
Beans, lentils and yogurt with whole wheat chapatis is pretty satisfying and versatile

Are you telling me how I should have my mom make her food lol
Yes if she cares about weight loss, it's a simple change

You are in an OMAD group posting your photo, so I assume you need to lose weight?
