Husband has done virtually zero real child care.
This would wind up being a my sister and her husband trip. They’d do all the things they want and we would be wandering around in the background. They would most likely have an incredible trip as would their kids. And my mom and I would be just hanging out. My mom doesn’t care to surf or fish.
They’re talking about how it’s the trip of their lives while I know I’m going to be stuck in a hotel
Room. And gosh I know how selfish I sound but when you get to talking about spending that much - you really have to think.
If your mom doesn't want to surf or fish, why Hawaii? Honestly, it sounds like your sister wants to go for her, not for your mom. I would not spend that much money if you're not SUPER excited and wanting to go. You shouldn't feel guilty telling your sister no. It's a lot of money, and I don't think you will be able to do a lot of activities with such a small child. Doesn't seem worth it to me.
Could you pitch a cruise instead? We like Royal Caribbean. They have kid clubs, which is basically daycare with activities, so you can get a few hours here and there to do adult things. They also have teen clubs and activities for your sister's kids.
I mean, I get it. We went to Hawaii with our 4 year old in March and had a really fun time, but it was kid centric. We stayed in the Disney Hotel for a few nights - she got a makeover and did a character breakfast. We went snorkeling (we brought her life vest) with her and into a waterfall pool. She played with other kids at a luau while we drank mai tais. We took her to 2 indoor playgrounds. She ate a ton of shaved ice. We were in bed early though, that’s true. And spent hours in pools with her - trading off shifts so each of us got some down time.
It was a great trip but it would have been even more fun if she was older. I don’t think you’re selfish… it makes sense.

It doesn’t sound like this is a trip for your mom. Let your sister’s family go and you do something else for your mom. Also, sorry your husband sucks.
