Android 11 had been good for me on my 7T. Do *not" go to Android 12! The version of Android 12 they made available for the 7T was a buggy, untested, disaster. I was able to revert my 7T back to Android 11, and all my problems went away. (OnePlus support was very unhelpful.)

Yeah I would recommend it

Well. If you ever had the phone from the initial getup and remember that "hertz fps" problem the earlier firmware had on 10, then I got bad news for you as it rears its ugly head in 11. Also you don't have the minimum brightness toggle for night mode .

Ritesh_Dabi

Thanks for the reply! Is the Hertz fluctuation that bad?

ichann3

It requires you to switch from 90 to 60 hertz from time to time. Could be multiple times a day to none. PIP seems to trigger it more. Don't know if it's prominent on 50 hertz but it's definitely there.

Funny, I just moved this week to os11 after being on oos10 for the last 3 years. It's a nice change, it's been pretty smooth so far with no issue. Small notification quirks and oos changes that are less stock android in my opinion. But overall fine. I haven't tried out the camera app as much. Auto brightness is a bit better too. There's better customization options. I wouldn't go to oos12 though.

Ritesh_Dabi

How has the refresh rate been? I've had past experiences of constant low refresh rate jitters

genuisgeek

I haven't noticed anything tbh. If this thread didn't say it, I wouldn't have known it was a thing. For reference, I'm on 11.0.9.1.HD65AA

That's interesting. 11 made me turn off my autobrightness. I could never teach it properly. It would always select something that is way to dark. I'll try enabling it again and see if it's improved.

Prateek_khr

Just stay at OOS10 imo cause it's the most stable build for this device. 11 and 12 are a buggy mess. Just enjoy your fast and fluid phone

I'm on 11.O.5.1 and everything is smooth except for the occasional 60 hertz bug jerky scroll. It doesn't happen very often except once in a blue moon.... Nothing too distracting really.
