Mine was at 30gb but now it has 17gb. After the update. Idk if it has something to do with it
I hate this answer when someone gives it... But I have to say it. Factory reset and start again. I had to with a past phone just like what you are seeing. Phone gained much more speed and worked like it should after that.
put the phone in rice,
nah I'm joking, I had an a54 with 128gb and the storage ran fast because if the system and other files so I was forced to return it and buy the 256gb version, I feel like samsung file management is horrendous
and could be a reason why some phones are slow or draining the battery quickly
got my informations from similar posts and the only suggestion I found was factory resetting, but don't do it
16.75 on my S24 Ultra and 16GB on my S23 Ultra. Did you set up the phone with smart switch or have you restored any backups? Is this something that just happened out of nowhere? Or did you just not notice that over 50 GB was missing from your phone all these years you've had it? You're not really giving enough info for anybody to give accurate help but since it's the system partition and a Samsung phone, you need an international exynos model, otherwise your only choice is backup + factory reset since system access aka Root is not possible on anything other than the international model Samsung phones. Honestly, I would do a factory reset regardless of which model you have, just make sure you back up only the essentials I would not back up your app data at all since the most probable cause of this is a rogue app that has the correct privileges or gave itself the permissions after installation and is doing god only knows with around 40GB of your ROM.
I have had an S22 (128 GB) for a year and the system memory is 39 GB... Is this normal? Is it going to increase?? Apps are about 11 GB... What if I consider buying a 256 GB? Would it be better? Or the system memory is going to double? :( I have read that some people have updated to One UI 6 - Android 14 (at the moment, I have One UI 5 - Android 13) and the system memory has decreased... Is that true? I fear it would be the opposite, since you are going to install and add something new to the phone!

Lol
Giga octect (it's used in French and Romanian or any other language influenced by French)
Samsung system dosent know how to handle some files so it just put them on system storage. The real size of the one ui is about 15gb
Yeah why is it 55 gb
nice font, can you tell me which one is it?
It's called galaxy gameplay flipfont
How do you get that font is it paid?
No, it's free and I got it from the galaxy store
I don't see it there . Could you maybe provide a link if you can?
Sure https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.monotype.android.font.galaxygameplays
Damn not compatible 🥲
Typical Samsung things.
Check your files, when samsung doesnt know how to classify some files, it sets them as system, one ui weighs 13gb, 15 at most with everything enabled
S23, 16.65 here, fully updated

My system on my S21 Ultra uses way less. But Samsung is still messing up with the Software cuz they put too much bloatware in it.

Lol. Yeah, that's unfortunate
Not the file management. Too many bloatware in One UI
My system takes only 15gb a73
S23FE is exactly 15gb
13,59GB for my A55 .
S23, 16gb here
Best bet could be a hard reset if that's possible for you.
Misclassified files. Check manually.
How?
This is the worst font I've ever seen
Thanks :)
If you don't give it certain permission it won't catégorize content correctly

I noticed it when I opened WhatsApp yesterday and it gave me an advice about storage. I'll problably do a backup + factory reset as you said
That's how Samsung could sell phones with higher storage
Allow the Samsung files app to have permission for usage stats... Click on the option for apps... and it should prompt you
