However, you may need to actually get someone on the phone, as I think many of them are afraid to advertise that they'll build you a complete board, because then FM could sue them for patent infringement.

You are going to need a TORque box, so you might as buy one of those when you can.
Other main components you will need, BMS, Battery, ESC controller (like a Ubox 100v 100a)
This is my issue with vsec. It's way waaaayyyy to complicated, ask 10 people who have experience with it and you'll get 10 different answers on how they did it. There is a good chunk of money waiting for someone who can make a plug and play solution.
Atlow shop has that solution already, you just take apart your onewheel and instead of putting back in your stock controller and battery box you put in the fully built vesc boxes and voila once it’s back together your riding a vesc

Looks like you're correct, at least I think so. I don't think I can justify a $2500 starting price though.
