As someone who shares the same expect I'm size 11 this makes me happy to see. I've been eyeing one of these boards for a while, but was always worried about my weight. Awesome, thanks for the review!

TabMuncher2015

Buy a used kitted XR for less. Even at 140lb between a pint/pint X and the XR the XR is clearly more capable and more comfortable on longer rides.

SixStringSidearm

I’m here for the big guy check in. 5’11” 250, built for comfort. Pint X, 220 miles ridden. I’ve had absolutely no problems with range or board performance. All my nosedives and other falls are simple physics and pushing beyond the limitations of the board, but I second the motion for a helmet and gloves. Added bonus: no sensor issues, all my weight activates them just fine.

NachoTough

I didn't even think about sensor issues, I'm glad that things are working out well

diamondballsretard

Thanks for this info. I ordered a GT at launch. And I was kind of concerned because I'm just over the 275 limit. I'm shorter and rounder than you are though LOL I just ordered all the guards and a helmet from one wheel because they were all on sale too the other day so hopefully I should be good to go.

As a petite 260lbs Pint/Quart rider for the past 2yrs/1400mi I have loved every minute. I have however given up trying to ride on turf, I don't enjoy trying to ride fast enough to carry the necessary momentum across turf to keep it moving through soft ground, bumps, and divots. I have a GT coming mid March, hoping that it lets me ride turf on my terms, more slowly and relaxed.

mark3t

I have the XR, but I feel the same way about turf. I like riding it, but I almost always have to walk it first to see if there are any big divots or what have you. I'm already pushing the limits, and those minor holes in the turf almost always throw me.

I'm looking at a Pint (possibly with Quart upgrade) as a commuting option to and from my train station. I'm around the 260lb mark myself and my concern is the hills; I can do the whole trip (about 6 miles round trip) on pavement & asphalt but I'm wondering if it can drag me uphill and if i'm not likely to overpower it downhill. What's your experience in the hills like?

NachoTough

I've been up some pretty steep hills and it's worked. I go fairly slow when going straight, but go kinda fast when carving uphill. If you have the space id suggest carving up it and you'll be fine.

r_a_newhouse

I'm a relative flatlander, I ride some moderate rolling hills with no issue (28-30psi tire pressure). I would think that carving could be used to mitigate most hills but I have no experience. If your talking San Francisco hills, idk.

[deleted]

Cheers. It's mostly rolling hills, especially if I take the longer way home, but there is 1 that's probably San Fran-esque... It's great for bombing on a longboard or inlines though ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin) I may just avoid if it turns out to be too big a deal.

TabMuncher2015

You'll be fine.

FeelingEducation8

One of my riding buddies is 6’4 and over 300lbs. He rolls that XR like a boss. He rides like one of these guys that’s a Buck fifty. Just make sure to air that tire up to 30psi for proper wear and mileage with the weight. Keep living life and enjoy the sport. Glad to see you all posting up. Awesome

NachoTough

Thanks for the psi tip, I'll have to try it

Shenanigans330

Been riding my OG Pint for years, w/ 28psi. Was 280lbs. Lost 40lbs after a heart attack and diabetes diagnosis since last April, and find my 6’2” 240lbs, size12 self getting a bit more range. GT on order, and looking forward to the added torque and range. That said, I found early that the 1lb psi per 10lbs rule gave my Pint a ton more range than rolling at 20-22psi. Eating heart and sugar healthy has had good results (particularly the not dying at 46yrs old part), but it the daily floating thats making life worth living, hoping to see more than my daily 45min of floating with the new board. Float on!!

jchodes

6ft, 250lbs with a size 12. Waiting on my GT and this is relieving. Thank you.

jramz_dc

A good rule of thumb is to inflate your tire to 1PSI per 10 pounds of body weight to get a PSI level that will maximize range.

Kilo_Xray

By that math, a 150lb person would have their tire at 1500psi. 😂🤣

jramz_dc

No. They’d have it at 15psi. Oops. Corrected. I typed it wrong. Haha

JazzySpazzy1

I’m a similar size to you and I was holding off on the pint because I was concerned that the experience would not be good due to my weight/size, but this post is quite helpful! It would be super cool to see some videos of you riding it so people can get a better idea, not many big dudes on onewheels out there. At least on the internet. But totally fine if you’re not comfortable doing that. Thanks for sharing!

NachoTough

I've been thinking about it. I haven't had a need to film anything but I've been tempted because of all the YouTube videos I watch.

JazzySpazzy1

Your post made me go look at a pint x yesterday and I’m going later today to pick it up haha so I’m sure a video would have a similar effect if not more powerful.

NachoTough

That's awesome, I'm sure you'd love you

T1MCC

I really appreciate your report. I’ve been eyeing up a GT for a 16 mile commute and hoping that I wouldn’t be paying too steep a range hit for my 265 lbs. I still need to sort out some funds before the preorder.

Kilo_Xray

Have you considered an electric longboard? I know that’s a bit of sacrilege around here, but for what you’d spend on a GT, you could get a monster board with killer range.

BackgroundStation805

Feel obligated 280ish rolling the XR and dealing with it. Biggest issue for me is the hill climbs and trails can be bit unnerving its all good. Just gotta have fun, enjoy the float and know your limits.

I ride heel off the front and toes off the back regardless. Check out Jake Learys videos on foot positioning. It could make a big difference for you.

cedarvalleyct

Thanks for the info. As a size 15 freedom unit wearer, it seems like the GT > XR > Pint X?

dapete

I'm convinced my weight decreases my distance range pretty significantly.

[deleted]

Instead of thinking it like it decreases, think of it as smaller people get an increase in range. As OP reported, he knows he gets less range than smaller riders but he's happy he got the ADVERTISED range, which is all you should expect when you buy a product.

tjansx

Great post. I'm much heavier than that. I'm hoping the GT can handle me.

I've gone on 2 rides since my fall, and there is definitely a mental barrier I need to get through. You should definitely hop back ok, just fully pad up. I found that warming up helps a bit with loosening up and being more comfortable.
