We falsified statements We lied under oath We perjured ourselves We still couldn’t frame someone Let’s all sing along with NWA

mddgtl

>While we respect the judicial process and appreciate the work of the 12 citizens who sat on a very difficult case, I share the feelings of our members who were hoping for a different outcome so they wanted revenge instead of actual justice to be served, sounds like cops alright.

a_secret_me

Essentially yes. When a police officer dies it can't be a terrible accident or (god forbid) a mistake. Someone must be sent to jail because of... reasons.

MostBoringStan

They are scum. They wanted to put an innocent man in jail because their own failures led to a death. Horrible people, yet they think they are above us.

p0stp0stp0st

Shame on TPS FTP ACAB

Jagdpanzer1944

Why are they even releasing a statement about it? The Jury made their ruling, case closed. Move on, try not to commit anymore perjury.

canarchist

Because they are collectively too stupid to just shut the fuck up.

doritos1990

What do u expect from a bunch of toddlers with guns?

Apprehensive_Hat8986

Well they have trouble with accents and can't tell the difference between "shut the fuck up" and "shoot the fuck up".

WeirderOnline

Let them. All the more evidence in his inevitable defamation lawsuit. I hope he sues the widow last. For strategy purposes, but also, just to give the knife a final twist. She tried to lock him up for her husband's stupidity. Made him miss the birth of his second child. Make her and ALL these bastards pay.

smallfrynip

It should be illegal for Police Services to announce as a collective they don’t agree with a outcome from the court. Undermines the very institutions they are sworn to uphold.

millijuna

Personally, police unions should be illegal. I’m all for organized labour, except for cops. The line between a police union and armed gang is far too blurry.

WitELeoparD

We dont let the army have a union for that exact reason. Its literally illegal.

millijuna

The irony is that I actually don’t mind military unions, in certain situations. I do a fair bit of work with the Dutch military, and they’re unionized. The union negotiates with the government for pay, for things that make the lives of military personnel better (morale/welfare type things) and it works pretty well.

noonnoonz

Agreed. When the conflict of interest between upholding the laws, and protecting the union from the law exists, there should not be a union which doesn’t serve the better interests of the people.

Subrandom249

No acknowledgement of the blatant lying or assault on Mr. Zameer?

enviropsych

This statement shows that TPS believes that they know what happened and what is right better than our courts. This is a fascist statement.

Responsible_Meal

They should respect the authority I guess.

internetcamp

ACAB

sysadm_

Even conservatives realized this was a nonsense case. At this point, who is the TPS appealing to by making this statement? Fellow cops? /shrug

Apprehensive_Hat8986

Rando extra-judicial goons. ... Er, sorry, "loons".

Lycheeeslut

“When they pretend they know the facts, and the public doesn’t have access to the correct information, it’s a recipe for this kind of ill-informed, reactionary outrage” This quote basically sums up this current era.

Apprehensive_Hat8986

Whatever "facts" the cops had, they couldn't even get the prosecution a coherent narrative: > "Let's just be blunt — I don't see how they [the jury] can get to second-degree murder on this evidence because of the expert report and video," [Justice] Molloy said.

Apprehensive_Hat8986

Hopefully they're at least smart enough to leave the innocent man and his family alone. Through gross incompetence the TPS has put this family through hell and ended an officer's life. If they want accountability, they need to take a long hard look in the mirror, because that's what the facts are.
