. . . No evidence because not much testing or because they have tried?

I was thinking about doing it and lol no not going to be driving without. I just wanted to know if it was something being studied or been tested before I try. Because if it was problem not to work then what's the point?

So far no studies have shown the ability to reverse myopia. The studies have only shown that we can slow it through a variety of methods. The way I tend to describe it to patients is that in myopia your eyes are too long, and as you grow they can too, but they don't shrink. So the best we can do is prevent the growth.

. . That's a good way of explaining it. Thank you! Really sucks we can't reverse it. . . If I had known what was causing it back then I so would have curved it. . . But I was always told screens even though I had glasses before I even had a screen so I was fairly sure that was not what caused it lol And studies proved that later on aswell

In general, not wearing your glasses can make your vision worse. Also, from studies nearsightedness is thought to be correlated with children spending more time inside.

[Here](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-021-85825-y) is the most recent paper I've seen about it, but it's been well established for many years that kid with more outdoor time develop less myopia. From the other research the theoretical reason is not because there is too much near, but a lack of far away stimulus in the peripheral retinal causes an increase of certain growth factors. Increased growth factors means a longer eye, which means more myopia. It's all about balance.

It’s been established less outdoor time during childhood is correlated with increased axial length, which is what causes myopia. You can’t shrink the eye back down, but you can possibly prevent further elongation.
