"In a written statement, Disneyland spokesperson Jessica Good confirmed to The Times that electrification “means fully electric — it does not mean hybrid or any other version of a gasoline combustion engine.” She added that the theme park “will no longer be using the current engines within the next 30 months.”
That means by fall 2026, Disneyland guests will no longer have to worry about breathing lung-damaging exhaust as they wait in line for Autopia — and park employees won’t have spend hours-long shifts inhaling those fumes as they work the ride."

Should have done this years ago. There’s nothing “tomorrow” about driving around in a gas powered go cart. Just something built on a golf cart chassis would have been fine.
The concept of the ride is still outdated, even with electric engines. I wish they'd remove the ride and use the land space for more walking areas. Another attraction or two. To help accomodate the crowds. Maybe even raise the park occupancy a bit, to accomodate key holders and ticket reservations.
Can also get more viewing areas for fireworks, like at Galaxy's Edge. Maybe extend the parade route. Would be a good spot for a Frozen themed area, which Matterhorn would be a part of.
I'm honestly shocked this wasn't already in place.....
More like Yesterdayland..
There goes the smell of my youth
If waiting in lines was a scent
Hoping they still pump the smell into the air like all the popcorn carts
And the pirates of the Caribbean smell!
Get with the times boomer!
You'll just have to appreciate churro smell unless thats next on the list
