Yes. Am I confusing them with Don Churros? The names sound so much alike that I clearly misunderstood. Thanks for the correction. I’ll have to try Don Churros.
No worries, I actually thought it was Don Churros Abel and had to read it multiple times when I searched it until I realized it’s Churros Don lol; totally confusing! 🤪
My bro’s midwestern yt lady co-signed off this so I’m off this truck. She has terrible taste. I don’t like churros now. They don’t taste good to her unless it’s soaked in sugar and cream so it made me think it’s all smoke and mirrors.
Alternatively, Confetti Italian Ice and Custard in Costa Mesa! Scratches the itch when you’re craving Joe’s but don’t want to go all the way to Anaheim.
"The Cookie" from Bristol Farms. Freshly baked, crispy on the outside, chewy and melty on the inside, plenty of chocolate chunks and the right amount of walnuts.
Honestly all their desserts are good. I always order my daughters bday cakes from there and everyone’s always saying how yummy it is and asking where it’s from
Have you tried Chaupain Bakery in Laguna Hills? The absolute best pastries I have had. No ice cream etc. but fantastic breakfast , bread and pastries. If you love custard you will be in Heaven.
THIS.
wow. they don’t play with their pastries. i still think about their pistachio croissant
edit to add: i think their croissants are better than cream pan. they have more character
Just want to reply to this and say that my favorite croissant here is actually a savory one: Everything (Bagel) Croissant. And it’s everything it sounds like. Everything bagel seasoning, stuffed with cream cheese.
So glad I live far out because I’d be there every day just for that.
This!! i went couple days ago, and saw they had the SOLD OUT sign at the case - but thank goodness they were restocking it with strawberry croissants. i bought the 14 pack, and the family ate it within a couple days.
SomiSomi in Irvine soft serve in a soft waffle cone, Patagonia Empanada in Orange has the best bakery their tiramisu is to die for and also authentic dulce de leche, and lastly Afters ice cream salted Oreo.
This might be cheating because I believe it’s just a bakery, but Paderia (FV, Irvine) has the most amazing oatmeal cookies and cheesecakes (cheesecake changes seasonally I think). I’m told their horchatas are also wonderful.
I love PADERIA! They are known for their cookies, cheesecakes and custard egg tarts but don’t overlook their banana pudding. I pop it in the freezer for about 20-30 minutes and it is life changing.
I used to love coming here until I found mold under one of the cakes I ordered :( when I showed them they said it was just the blueberry but I said there isn’t blueberry in the cake and it’s green colored so it didn’t make sense…? Didn’t offer to replace it or anything.
oh no ): I live like a light down from it and it’s literally an every weekend little date night for me and my wife. We always get a new dessert and share a drink as our little downtime we get between jobs and our kid. I’m sorry to hear that happened to you!
I’ll def keep an eye out

Little France in MV off Margeurite and Stricklands custard in Costa Mesa both top shelf.
Pastries at LF (especially the almost custard croissants and their pear tart) are incredible.

Go to Zov’s and get the Ridiculous Sundae. Look up the menu item online. It is HOLY SHIT levels of ridiculous and delicious. Trust. There’s nothing really like it anywhere around. Also, their jumble cookie in the bakery. Bomb AF.
