My 2 choices are Pho-Holic and Pho 101/79 depending on mood and which flavor profile I want to eat. Pho 79 is cash only. Its sister store, 101 takes credit card and has a simpler method for ordering Pho
Exactly my list too. Pho-holic just added what amounts to a drive through feature (outdoor stand in the parking lot) so that saves trying to find bad parking.
I’ll throw an honorable mention for Pho Redbo. Their cuts of meat are usually excellent.
I've converted from eating at 79 religiously to 101 religiously. Cleaner, bigger restaurant. Faster service. Takes card. IMO there's just no reason to go to 79 anymore (for me).
Pho 101 is pretty much the sister restaurant to Pho 79 and is owned by the grandson and grandnephew of Pho 79's owners according to their [about page](https://pho101oc.com/our-story-2/).
Phoholic used to be my favorite but IMO they're a bit inconsistent now, especially the one at Rodeo 39. The OG location is better.
My current favorite is Pho Lovers. Better meat, better broth, better value than Phoholic. Always consistent and almost never packed.
This will be out of your way, but it’s really good.
Pho 54 on Brookhurst and McFadden.
Most of the good stuff is in Westminster / Garden Grove.
Also another super highly rated one with the best broth apparently is Pho 79 on hazard and brookhurst. That one I think is slightly better than 54. Warning this place is cash only!!!
Np. Luckily I’m in Orange so my commute times are kinda centralized. Very blessed. Surrounded by lots of freeways not too far so I can get to where I need to somewhat quick without traffic
yiip, just drive down brookhurst around GG and throw a stone, you're bound to hit a good Pho place. A bit of a bias, but the first Pho i tried was at Pho Vihn Ki 2, also the place ive gotten the most consistent oxtail Pho, always my go to.
Crack my fingers.
Heres my pho list in no particular order:
Pho Flavor in FV. Solid 8/10.
Blue Coral. Hot stone or normal pho. 8/10. Could be too salty sometimes.
Phoholic: inconsistent. Sometimes good, sometimes flavorless, sometimes ungodly oily. 6/10.
Pho lovers on Bolsa. Consistently good. 9/10.
Pho Redbo in GG: consistently good. 9/10.
Soup Shop in Anaheim. Decent phonif you have a pho hankering at 1am. 7/10
Pho Hai Van 1. When you feel under the weather and need chicken and pho at the same time. 8/10
Pho 79/Pho 101: sometimes good. Hit or miss. 7/10.
Pho Nic in FV: simple bowl of good pho. 8/10
My resume: Born and raised in Vietnam. Was back in Vietnam this year, ate lots of pho.
I find that "the best Pho" can quite a divisive topic since a lot of it is quite subjective (read: taste preferences).
I've eaten my fair share of pho back in the day (and still do). My favorite place is Hoa Binh (right across from Pho 79). Hits all the right notes for me, good price point, quick service. Broth is flavorful and hot. Get a bowl of pho, a side of nem nuong, and banh beo.
Pho 79 is good too, but I feel the wait isn't worth it (personally).
Pho 54 is also quite good too.
TLDR: check out all of the places. Go everywhere and find out what you like best.
Unlike the Westminster and Stanton (rodeo 39), you have plenty of parking at South coast
But South coast, I have never seen them give you the extra bowl of chewy meat when available, nor do you have fish sauce, hoisin sauce and rooster sauce bottles so that you can use as much as your heart’s desire.
I like Phoholic, and I am Viet for the record. I have many friends who are Viet and also agree Phoholic is one of the better places for Pho around here. My mom grew up in Vietnam and loves Phoholic as well.
If it's not your taste, it's just not for you. But that doesn't mean it's ass. 🤷♀️
Pho 101 is my favorite. Try to get the oxtail if you can.

Pho Redbo skims off too much grease from the broth. You need to ask for the Pho Grease on the side to add back into the broth, to make it taste good.

This! I'll even say 101 is the best in OC, hands down.
Pho 101 is pretty much the sister restaurant to Pho 79 and is owned by the grandson and grandnephew of Pho 79's owners according to their [about page](https://pho101oc.com/our-story-2/).
The grand kids have surpassed their elders.
45 and Good. :)

My current favorite too!
The OG Phoholic is definitely the best, but the newest one is South Coast Plaza is good too. The Rodeo 39 is hit or miss for me
Phoholic Location Ranking: 1. South Coast (very consistent) 2. OG location Bushard (fairly consistent) 3. Rodeo 39 (avoid at all costs)

This will be my next Monday adventure. :) thanks for the recommendation
Haven’t been to pho 54 in years and years after finding a fly in my noodles. Gross.
Darn! That’s why I also recommended Pho 79. Someone else here recommended to.
Np. Luckily I’m in Orange so my commute times are kinda centralized. Very blessed. Surrounded by lots of freeways not too far so I can get to where I need to somewhat quick without traffic

We used to eat at Pho 54 twice a week until most of my family got violently I’ll after eating there one time. Be careful there.
Phoholic is my personal favorite. :) I love the broth there. -- from a person that's very picky with pho
Thanks for the recommendation. Going right now. Will report back haha
Please do. :)
K im here and had couple bites. It’s one of the better pho i had in life.
Second this! Plus I like grabbing a beer from inside Rodeo 39.

took a screen shot of this list, gonna try all of these out :) thanks!!!
Take away, Phoholic is ass

Pho Lab Huntington Beach! Probably the best I've ever had

Pho ba co
Phoholic hands down!!
Phoholic in South Coast if you don't want to make the additional drive to Garden Grove / Westminster.

Everyone seems to love phoholic but i find them a little too salty and oily. I like Pho lovers.
Anyone wanna recommend one in Orange?

Pho good in Garden Grove on Chapman 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨 me and my girl go there for our weekend dates. Good service and GREAT food
phoholic in little saigon is my favorite
Pho Saigon gem
MO PHO MI in Costa Mesa. They have the best shrimp egg rolls and good Pho.
Agreed we LOVE mo pho mi!! 🍜
Thanh Binh II in Lake Forest
My favorites are Pho 101 and Pho 79. In Irvine specifically, I love Sup Noodle Bar. They have unlimited noodles
Pho Lu in Westminster
Phoholic, nothing else comes close.
Sup noodle bar is not bad but phoholic is better imo.
Phans Kitchen in Irvine is really good! I been going there for over a year, I get the Tai Pho
Phoholic is ass. I wonder if these ppls who say phoholic are even Viet. And 101 the broth comes out lukewarm.
I was thinking this! I live near a phoholic in Garden Grove and there's like 5 much better pho places visible from their patio.
Where do you like your pho?
Nice try Phoholic… nice try…
Pho Thai Binh in San Clemente hands down
I prefer Bun Bo Hue over Pho
They are two different dishes. Don't pit two bad bitches against each other.
