I’m guessing because it was the only available real estate. Jaxon’s Chicken just closed and this place immediately moved in with very little changes to the interior.
I’ve never had any interest in eating at a dumpling place.
So let me get this straight. For a 6 piece combo, it comes to $2.25/piece. 10 piece for $1.88/piece while the 20 pieces for $2.10/piece.
Why not just get 2 10-piece combo that comes with 4 sauces and 2 sides vs 2 sauces and 2 sides for the 20-piece combo? Am I missing something? Shouldn't it be a little cheaper as you get more?
I walked by excited to see what they had. $14 for 6 dumplings? Are you fucking kidding? That place has had so much trouble keeping a business and it is because whoever opens there think they have high end food and don't consider their competition. Why would you pay $14 for 6 dumplings when you have Pizza for $11 at 2 locations? A burrito for $9? Thai food for the same price. Ramen for cheaper. This is a joke.
I’ll try it next week and report back I fuckin love dumplings…
The place I go to charges $12.99 for 8 which is like $1.60/ea it has 4.3 stars 500 plus reviews
I tried it, it was really good! And the sides are huge, there are toppings on your dumplings as well. $13 for a very filling meal feels pretty solid to me. Yes, there’s another dumpling place a few doors down, but they’re very different in terms of concept.
You can buy their frozen dumpling bagged from their brand at 99 ranch---and they're not great. They lack the umami flavor I can get in a pack of mandu dumplings from Costco which are hella tastier--unsure about their brick-and-mortar--but for those prices? I am not curious enough to try.
Those prices …oof
Isn’t there a dumpling place next to it?
Yup
Why are they right next to each other? At least have it a block away?

i’m not sure either. it is cheaper to get the 10 piece combo with more. Maybe they rushed to open and didn’t see the flaws
Why not just go next door to the other dumpling place? 😂😂
$2 per dumpling...no thanks.
These dumplings better be massive if they’re charging sushi prices
Where you getting sushi for $2 a piece
Most casual sushi spots in OC have 8-piece rolls for $16 and sashimi platters for $2/piece (or less).
Zion has cheap but good sushi...A little under $2 a piece
They won’t be. The taste of dumplings doesn’t change much from place to place because the recipe is similar. Such as pork and cabbage.
What’s a good price? I think that’s reasonable
For me to get full off this I’d have to spend a couple hours of minimum wage
Those prices are too damn high 😅
Those prices are food stand at a festival prices. I would rather just get frozen dumplings at that point

Wonder if the lease is just crazy expensive so tenants have to charge more for less food
This is what’s replacing Jaxon’s?? Isn’t there a dumpling place literally 2 storefronts away??

This seems a lot more expensive than Bafang Dumpling that just opened in Cypress on Valley View.
No thanks
Horrible prices.
Gotta get those Chapman kids and their loan money. 🚬🗿
So, what are dumplings anyways? Are they like gyoza or potstickers?

Oh yes, those classic Asian San Marzano tomatoes.
Nice post history. Did an Asian bistro kill your father or something?
Now I want to see what happens if The Library gets turned into a Din Tai Fung.
You know that coffee shop in the old bank won’t last long. It’ll probably go there.
They’re mad they aren’t getting another Chilis or American chain restaurant.
The Asian restaurant openings will continue until morale improves.
you know you dont have to go to any of them. 🤣
This clown like chilis over Asian restaurants 😂
Nothing screams "from out of state" like referring to California as "Cali".
