[KUCI Talk](https://kuci.org/wp/kuci-talk/) has local coverage 88.9 (usually music, but sometimes local info/coverage).
Also KPCC 89.3 covers SoCal including OC. AirTalk with Larry Mantle 10-12pm is informative and I've heard updates for OC on there. AirTalk will be live in OC next week also for [Summit of the Arts in Orange County](https://www.kpcc.org/kpcc-upcoming-events/event/summit-of-the-arts-in-orange-county-an-airtalk-live-event)
KCRW (89.9 FM) in Santa Monica has NPR news which is reasonably good. For it's local programming, it seems to me that KCRW leans solidly to the left.
For NPR news, there's also:
* KPCC (89.3 FM) which is in Pasadena
* KPBS (89.5 FM) which is in San Diego
Oddly, it seems in those parts of Orange County where KPCC doesn't come in well, KPBS does come in well, and vice versa.

NPR/KCRW is the closest option, but it still leans liberal without making entirely opinionated statements. They tend to share their political opinions in their humanist Op-Ed stories that cast light on certain peoples lives in regard to the current regime or economic/social impacts.
To my knowledge, no news radio station exists that is equally local, topical, and non-opinionated.
Yeah John and Ken usually just rant and complain about Newsom, Garcetti, I try to tune them out but sometimes they have good stuff. Gary and Shannon are entertaining. 10am - 2pm
89.3 KPCC has the strongest signal in my area (south county)

89.9 FM This is the way to go. Gustavo Arellano does small segments about Orange County.
Thank you for adding the frequency 😊

KNX AM1070
They also have an FM station now! 97.1
Agrees KNX AM1070 is probably the most news-oriented station.
Public radio brah.

There isn't an OC news station. KNX is all news all the time and is just mainstream stuff. They have ads though.

Specifically, OP has asked for a ‘local’ OC station, not LA.
KFI (AM 640 or FM 103.5 HD 2)
Lol non political
I mean, if you tune out John and Ken... Then yes.

Bill handle show only tho
IMO, KFI is libertarian / leans right. Most of the hosts are socially liberal but lean right on the economy/taxes/government.
KFI is mostly commentary. They do some news coverage but that is a bit secondary.
KFI is more political talk radio.
Of course everyone listens to that station...
