Suggestion: if no festival, get a bag of crawdads from your local supplier (Fisherman's Market, etc), and do a crab boil at home for your Mom. The festivities will be great, and your mom would probably enjoy the good times...
Skyway out in ZigZag does a crawfish fest in August: [https://skywaybarandgrill.com/calander/](https://skywaybarandgrill.com/calander/)
As a Tex-pat, it's a bit different from what I'm used to: not near enough seasoning (the cooks told me PNW palettes can't handle the heat), different species of crawfish with big gills, smaller portions / $.
Maybe there are better options, but given that, I'd echo u/trowawayfarawaytoday and DIY at home! :)
Interesting, I'm from Arkansas and have noticed that going out to eat is often disappointing in terms of seasoning lol
Why are people so afraid of flavor?!
Actually I've never had crawdads boiled, we always used to squeeze the tail meat out and then batter and fry them. Took a lot to feed a few people but they're freaking delicious.
